        The androgenic gland secretes a hormone, androgenic gland hormone, which is believed to act the differentiation of the primary, secondary, and behavioral sex characteristics in most malacostracan crustaceans. This report presents the ultrastructural morphology of the androgenic gland in the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium nipponense. This gland, located in the coxopodite of the last pair of walking legs, was attached to the subterminal region of the sperm duct. The gland was composed of simple cellular strands, encased by a fibrous sheath. Microvilli were situated in the fibrous sheath, especially at the edge of each cellular strand. The androgenic gland cells had the large and round nucleus and rough endoplasmic arranged either in spirals or in concentric circles throughout the cytoplasm of the cell. They also had the well-developed Golgi complex and long mitochondria with flat and transverse cristae. The Golgi complex was similar to microvesicular cluster, but usually in the shape of typical dictyosomes. These features of androgenic gland cells coincides well with the protein/peptide secretion in their function. However, despite the apparent ultrastructural equipment for protein/peptide secretion, no accumulation of materials secreted were noticed in the cytoplasm. Therefore it is strongly suggested that the transportation of the materials into the hemocoel has occurred just after synthesis.

        경찰공무원의 '안전' 기본 가치에 대한 감성 체감도 연구

        본 연구는 사회 공공의 안녕과 질서를 유지하기 위하여 일반통치권의 근거로 임무와 기능적 측면에서 국민에 대해 명령, 강제함으로서 개인의 자유 및 재산에 대한 위해를 방지하여 안전하고 편안한 사회를 구축 하는데 치안 전반을 담당하는 경찰공무원의 '안전' 기본 가치에 대한 감성 체감도를 측정하였다. 먼저 안전과 경찰조직의 기본가치, 문화의 선행연구를 검토하여 고찰하였다. 다음으로 서울 지역 경찰공무원 152명을 대상으로 기본가치, 주요목표, 공통가치 등으로 구분하여 15개 항목을 구성하여 안전에 대한 감성체감도를 측정하였다. 나아가 질서유지, 민생치안, 권위 있는 법집행, 시민봉사, 생활안전, 시설보호, 시국치안, 정보보호 등 경찰공무원의 안전의 공통가치를 설정하여 어느 목표에 강력한 긍정적 감성 반응을 보이는 가를 측정하였다. 마지막으로 본 논문의 목적은 감성체감도 측정 결과를 통하여 안전한 사회 구축을 위한 정책의 방향성을 정립하는데 있다. This study examined the sensibility about the fundamental value of 'safety' of police officer who are responsible for the public security to establish peaceful and comfortable communities. For maintaining the welfare and order of the public, police officer enforce the order in the functional and dutiful perspective based on the general supreme power, to prevent harm against individual freedom and properties. First, previous studies on safety and the value and culture of the organization of law enforcement have been investigated. And then, for 152 police officers in Seoul, sensibility about the safety has been assessed with 15 items classified into fundamental value, primary goal, common value of the safety, etc. Furthermore, order preservation, public safety, authoritative law enforcement, civil services, situational safety, information security, etc. were set up for common values of the safety of police officer and investigated which factors they show substantially positive sensibility. Lastly, with the result from sensibility assessment, this study aims for setting up the policy direction for establishing safe communities.

        미완성된 근첨을 가진 영구치 치근 파절의 치유에 관한 증례 : A CASE REPORT

        7세 남아가 맹출 중인 상악 영구 중절치의 외상을 주소로 내원하였다. 환아의 우측 중절치는 아탈구와 치근 파절을 보였고, 좌측 중절치는 함입성 탈구와 치근 파절을 보였다. 두 치아는 정복 후 선부자에 의해 고정하였다. 이후 주기적인 검진을 시행하였다. 4년이 지난 현재, 우측 중절치는 방사선 사진에서 파절편 사이에 방사선 투과성이 보이지 않고 정상적인 치조백성을 보여 경조직으로 치유되는 양상을 보였다.좌측 중절치는 파절편이 분리되어있고 근관이 점차 폐쇄되는 소견을 보이고 있어 골과 결합조직의 개입에 의한 치유 양상을 보이고 있다. 임상 검사에서 정상적인 동요도와 타진 반응을 보였고, 전기치수검사에 양성반응을 보였다. 외상을 받은 치아의 예후는 외상의 유형, 환자의 연령, 치근의 발육단계, 변위의 정도 등에 영향을 받는다. 본 증례는 개방근관을 가진 치아가 외상 후 우측 중절치는 석회화 조직으로 치유, 좌측 중절치는 골과 결합조직의 개입으로 치유되고 있는 양상을 보이고 있어 이를 보고하는 바이다. A 7-year-old male was refered to Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Wonkwang Dental Hospital for treatment of a traumatic injury to the teeth of the maxillary anterior region of the mouth. His right central incisor presented subluxation and root fracture, the left central incisor had suffered intrusive luxation and root fracture. The initial treatment involved reposition and fixation of the teeth with 0.5mm stainless steel wire and composite resin. The patient was submitted for clinical and radiographic follow-up. After 4 years, radiographically the right central incisor seemed to be healed by hard tissue union and showed to be indistinct fracture line, intact lamina dura. The left central incisor radiographically was healed by interposition of bone and connective tissue and showed to be distinct horizontal fracture line separating the fragments, and pulp cannal obliteration. In clinical examination, the teeth showed a normal response to elective pulp test, percussion and mobility test. Pulp survival after injuries appears to be dependent upon the type luxation injury, age of patient, stage of root development and degree of dislocation. In this case, the two teeth with incomplete root formation were suffered different type of injury by trauma and has showed different healing aspect.

      • GOS가 장내 Bifidobacteria의 생육촉진에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        We investigated the growth effect of various sugars on the principal intestinal microorganisms which were Bifidobacteria, Lactobacilli, Streptococci, Clostridia, Escherichia, Eubacteria, and Staphylococci. Those microorganisms were cultivated on media containing various sugars. The sugars were grouped into A, B, and C. Group A consisted of sugars extracted by water, 5%, 15%, 30%, and 40%, EtOH, respectively. Group B were galactooligosaccharide(GOS), fructooligosaccharide(FOS), isomaltooligosaccharide(IMO), and xylooligosaccharide( XOS). Group C were LOS, SOS, and LSOS. Bif. adolescentis, Bif. bifidum, Bif. infantis, Bif. longum, and Str. faecalis grew well on the media containing sugars of each A, B, and C group, while C. butyricurm, S. aureus, Eu. limosum, and E. coli did not. The results indicated that oligosaccharides of A, B, and C group were consumed effectively by Bifidobacterium spp. but not utilized by other intestinal microorganisms. Oligosaccharides of each A, B, and C group promoted selectively the growth of Bif. infantis and Bif. longum in the human intestinal microflora.

      • Bifidobacterium angulatum으로부터 α-galactosidase의 정제 및 특성

        α-galactosidase는 (α-D-galactoside galactohydrolase: EC 3.2.1.22)는 다당류나 올리고당인 melibiose, raffinose, stachyose와 guar gum 등의 α-galactosidic 결합을 하고 있는 당을 분해하는 효소이다. 장내세균중 우익균이며 우세균주인 Bifidobacteria로부터 α-galactosidase의 효소학적 특성을 알아보기 위하여 배양여액으로부터 ammonium sulfate분획, 핵산의 제거, Sephadex G-200 gel filtration 및 DEAE-Sephadex A-50 ion exchange chromatography 등의 4단계 정제과정을 거쳐 정제한 결과 약 8배로 정제되어 단일 단백질로 분리하였다. 또한, 효소분해산물을 알아보기 위하여 TLC에 의하여 당분해 및 올리고당의 생성을 알아보았다. 정제효소의 활성 최적온도는 37℃, 최적 pH는 7.0이었다. 효소활성이 K^+, Zn^2+과 같은 금속이온과 8-Hydroxyquinoline, Sodium Bisulfite 등에 의해선 그다지 저해되지 않았으나, Hg^+, Cu^2+과 p-Chloromercuribenzoic acid에 의해선 저해되었다. 효소의 분자량이 301, 995, 합성기질인 PNPG에 대한 K_m은 0.069mM, V_max는 347.22μmol/min.mg protein이었다. To elucidate enzymatic properties of α-galactosidase (EC 3.2.1.22) from Bif.angulatum. α-galactosidase was purified to homogeneity by ammonium sulfate fractionation, protamine sulfate precipitation, sephadex G-200 gel filtration, and DEAE-sephadex A-50 ion exchange chromatography. The purified α-galactosidase was found tobbe homogeneous by SDSpolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The molecular weight of this enzyme, estimated by sepadex G-200 gel filtration, was about 301,995. The optimum conditions for the enzyme reaction was pH 6.5 to 7.0 at 37℃. The purified enzyme was stable at 45℃ or below and in buffer at pH 6 to 7.0. The activity was inhibited by mercury, copper ion, and p-chloromercuribenzoic acid. The kinetics of this enzyme, with p-nitrophenyl-α-D-galactoside as substrate, was determined : K_m was about 0.069mM and V_mas was 347.22 μmoles/min mg protein.

      • 갑상선 유두상 암종과 유두상 증식에 대한 S-100 단백 및 EMA 발현에 대한 연구

        The diagnosis of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid is readily achieved based on a defined aggregate of histopathologic features. A papillary architecture is an imporant but not pivotal component of the diagnosis. The classic nuclear features are the essential diagnostic element. However, both papillary architecture and nuclear features may be encountered in other conditions and produce problems in histopahologic interpretation. A papillary architecture may be found within a follicular or an oncocytic neoplasm of within the nodules of hyperplastic nodular goiter. Moreover, there may be scattered cells within several thyroid lesions that display some of the nuclear characteristics of papillary carcinoma. The distinction of these lesions from papillary carcinoma is important for differential diagnosis. Thus, the availability of supportive diagnosic evidence would be helpful. Immunoreactivity for S-100 and epithelial membrace antigen was investigated in 16 papillary thyroid carcinomas(PTC), including three examples of the follicular variant, 16 cases of papillary hyperplasis, 8 follicular adenomas, and 6 follicular carcinomas. The degree of reaction was rated on a four point scale: +++, most cells(>51%) have positive staining; ++, 11-50% of cells have positive staining; +, less than 10% of cells have positive staining; -, no positive staining is present. The results are summarized as follows: 1) All the papillary carcinomas showed intense nuclear and cytoplasmic expression of S-100 (+++; 7 cases, ++; 9 cases), and EMA was expressed(++; 7 cases, ++; 6 cases, +; 3 cases). 2) In the cases of papillary hperplasia, papillary foci were generally negative for S-100 and EMA(12/16 ; -). In some areas, they were focal, of weak intensity, and showed preferential apical cytoplasmic location of oncocytic change. 3) Four of eight follicular adenomas expressed S-100(++;2 cases, +; 2 cases), whereas four were completely negative. EMA was also expressed(++; 2 cases, +; 3 cases). 4) Follicular carcinoma showed variable expression of S100 and EMA Five of six follicular carcinomas expressed S-100(++; 2 cases, +; 3 cases), whereas one was negative. EMA was also expressed(++; 2 cases, +; 1 case). In conclusion, in the distinction of papilary carcinoma from papillary hyperplasia, we would recommend an initial histological appraisal, with immunohistochemical staining of S100 and EMA in difficult cases.

        The differences in disease occurrence varies from country to country. These might be either due to difference in genetic constituency in individuals from different ethnic backgrounds or to environmental factors including diet and personal habits, or more plausibly to the interactive effects of genetic and environmental factors. Post-gencomic era opens the potential application of functional genomics to the fields of occupational health. This mini-review of $quot;genetic effects in occupational diseases$quot; deals with several newly challenging areas of application of genetic information in occupational health Recent reports regarding the genetic susceptibility to occupational asthma, particularly DRB1 or DQB1 HLA class polymorphism give us interesting insights that the genetic information may play an important role in development of occupational asthma and this can be a good example of how genetic information provide us to better understanding for etiology of occupational diseases. Genetic testing for the employees who apply new jobs or genetic monitoring for the employees in certain hazardous environments also stimulate important issues of ethical, social, and economical problems among employees enforced to take the genetic testing. Finally, how genetic information can be used in delineating work-relatedness in compensating cases for occupational diseases was reviewed.

        유치 상아질에 대한 수종의 상아질 결합제의 전단결합강도에 대한 연구

        소아환자의 수복치료에서 시술시간과 시술과정을 줄이는 것은 중요한 점이다. 복합레진은 물성의 증가로 영구치, 유치 전치부 심미수복재로써 뿐만 아니라 구치부 수복에도 많이 쓰이고 있다. 최근에 개발된 7세대 상아질 결합제는 기존의 복합레진을 치면에 부착하기 위해 필요했던 산부식, 프라이밍, 접착제 도포의 복잡한 과정을 한번의 처리로 단순화하였다. 본 연구에서는 유치 상아질에서 7세대 상아질 결합제의 결합력을 기존에 사용되고 있는 여러 결합제의 결합력과 비교하였다. 1, 2, 3, 4군은 각각 4, 5, 6, 7세대 상아질 결합제를 사용하였다. 유치 상아질을 노출시키고 군에 따라 상아질 면을 처리한 후에 직경 2.5mm, 높이 2.0mm의 주형을 이용하여 복합레진을 접착시키고 열순환을 시행한 다음 전단결합강도를 측정하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 5세대 상아질 결합제 인 Clearfil SE Bond가 가장 높은 전단결합강도인 27.87±5.33 MPa를 보였다. 이것은 4, 6, 7세대와 비교했을 때 통계학적으로 유의하였다. 2. 4세대 상아질 결합제의 전단결합강도는 20.11±5.73 MPa로 6, 7세대보다는 약간 높게 나타났지만 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 보이지 않았다. 3. 6, 7세대 상아질 결합제의 전단결합강도는 유사하게 나타났다. It is important to reduce chair time and procedure in restorative treatment for children. Composite resin is not only used in esthetic restoration of anterior teeth but also posterior teeth by its improved physical property. The 7th generation dentin bonding system was recently developed in order to simplify three steps which is needed to bond composite resin to tooth surface-etchant, primer, adhesive. We compared shear bond strengths of 4, 5, 6, 7th generations dentin bonding systems. The primary dentin was pretreated with 4, 5, 6, 7th generation dentin bonding systems. Then composite resin was cured to the specimen using molds 2.5mm in diameter and 2mm in height. Thermocycling was performed and shear bond strength was finally measured. The results were as follow: 1. The mean values of shear bond strengths in 5th generation dentin bonding system(group 2) were greater than those of 4, 6, 7th generation dentin bonding system(group 1, 3, 4). The differences were statistically significant. 2. The mean values of shear bond strengths in 4th generation dentin bonding system(group 2) were greater than those of 6, 7th generation dentin bonding system(group 1, 3, 4). But, the differences were not statistically significant. 3. Between the mean values of shear bond strengths in 6, 7th generation dentin bonding system(group 3, 4) were similar.

        This study aim at establishing the 3D digital data of cultural architecture by applying the digital photogrammetric technique. I would applicated as the basic data for preservation and restoration of cultural assets by suggesting the direction of establishing 3D digital data and the more accurate measurement methods than before lagged ones. And I could establish the useful data for visual analysis by connecting the ortho image which was made by digital image for the object and the vector data which was acquired by plotting. The establishment of precise 3D information by photogrammetry was possible, so the application of photogrammetry for measuring various cultural assets which require precise measurement is expected actively in near future.
