        울금(鬱金)에서 분리된 demethoxycurcumin이 백서의 혈관재협착에 미치는 효과

        The pathobiologic process of arterial stenosis following balloon angioplasty continues to be an enigmatic problem in clinical settings. This study investigates the ability of demethoxycurcumin, a curcuminoid isolated from Radix Curcumae, to attenuate balloon injury-induced neointima(NI) formation in the rat carotid artery. It was found that demethoxycurcumin induced inducible heme oxygenase(HO-1) expression and inhibited dose-dependently cellular proliferation in rat vascular smooth muscle cells. Perivascular application of demethoxycurcumin immediately following injury significantly reduced NI area and NI thickness 2 weeks post-injury. Interestingly, treatment with tin-protoporphyrin IX, a HO inhibitor, reversed the effects of demethoxycurcumin on NI formation. These results implicate demethoxycurcumin as a potent new therapeutic agent that is capable of reducing post-angioplasty arterial stenosis through induction of the HO-1 expression.

        Wallace Stevens의 시를 읽기 위한 하나의 틀 : Nietzsche, Derrida, Foucault, 선(禪), 그리고 Heidegger

        As a major American modern poet, Wallace Stevens deserves our careful reading. Stevens is quite different from T.S Eliot. Eliot has depicted the spiritual Waste Land of modern man in his poetry and believed that Christianity is the only way to restore the lost center of mankind. Stevens, on the other hand, has accepted the fact that man no longer needs any external belief system to sustain him in the decentered world of ours. Stevens has written his poetry in the tradition of romanticism. But he is not an old guard romantic poet who believes in the supreme power of imagination. On the contrary, he thinks that poetry, the product of imagination and reality, is the supreme fiction. It means that he believes and at the same time disbelieves in the efficacy of poetry. To properly understand his poetry, we need a certain frame of reference to orient outselves. Nietzsche comes at the top of the list of people who form this frame of reference. He is the one who has set in motion some of the seminal ideas of modern philosophy which are helpful in understanding Stevens' poetry. Nietzsche views that the modern world is the locus where the tie between the signifier and the signified has been severed once and for all. This is the world about and in which Stevens' poetry is written. Jacques Derrida and Michel Foucault take up the train of thought that Nierzsche has initiated. Martin Heidegger is also important in understanding Stevens' poetry. In reading his letters, we can see that Stevens is personally interested in Heidegger. Heidegger views that man is thrown in the world without any support system to sustain him. Man, therefore, has to recognize that he is open to Being. Being is the source and background of all beings and man as Dasein best reveals Being in the decentered world. Because there no longer exists the divine teleology in this kind of world, Being is also Nothing. Heidegger's idea Nothing is very similar to Sunyata (emptiness) in Zen Buddhism. Sunyata means Nothing, but this Nothing is not a negative nothing. Sunyata is a positive nothing where all beings originate and Being reveals itself. By setting up this frame of reference, we can better understand Wallace Stevens' poetry.

        Miller와 McNeil(1969) 그리고 Lenneberg(1967)가 결론을 내린 바와 같이 기억력에 관한 것이외에는 언어의 상대적 이론에 대한 확정적인 실증적 뒷받침은 없다. 현재로서는 사유와 지각이 언어에 의해서 영향을 받는 유일한 부분은 축적된 정보와 기억부분밖에 없는 듯하다. 그 좋은 예는 Carroll과 Casagrande(195)가 Navajo인디안과 Boston 어린이들을 대상으로 행한 식별시험이다. 기억이 직접적으로 관계되지 않았을 경과에는 결과는 불확실하게 나타난다. Lenneberh(1967)은 명칭기억용이도를 바탕으로 해서 언어가 사유를 지배하고 있는지도 모른다고 말했다. 어떤 특정 언어에서 명칭이 확연하게 고착되어 있는 개념들은 그 언어를 말하는 사람들이 분명히 지적할 수 있는 개념들일 것이다. 그러나 이런 이론을 뒷받침해 주는 증거가 희소하다고 Lenneberg는 인정하고 있다. Clomsky의 생성문법이론이 도래한 이후 우리의 관심을 언어의 상대성보다는 본유관념(innate ideas)과 언어의 보편요소(Linguistic universals)에 더욱 기울어지고 있다.

      • 農業機械修理센터 實態調査分析에 關한 硏究

        A survey work was conducted to investigate the status of regional farm machinery service center and to evaluate their capability by which after-service and repair and maintenance work could be executed. Questionaires answered by 137 service centers among the total 274 service centers were analyzed. The results obtained from the analysis are as follows; 1. In order to evaluate the capability of repair and maintenance work executed by the regional service center, the career which repair men were educated and/or trained relative to farm machinery are analyzed. As the result of this analysis, it is known that less than 10 per cent of them have the career educated and/or trained for farm machinery repair and maintenance work. Therefor, it may be desirable that the regular educational program for farm machinery repair and maintenance workers should be strengthened to improve the capability or quality and that more qualified repairmen are employed by the service centers. 2. It is known that the determinations of the number of repairmen and the level of equipments installed would be very critical, because the quantity of repair and maintenance work are concentrated during farming seasons such as June and Octover. The countermeasure to overcome the shortage of repair work specialists and facilities of service center should be established. 3. The average percentage of service centers having the tools and equipments necessary for executing the effective repair and maintenance works was relatively low with 51 per cent for the tools and 28 per cent for the equipments. Further work may be necessary to determine the kinds, quantities, and sizes of tools and equipments adequate for regional service centers. 4. The spare parts of farm machinery were not supplied satisfactorily to the service centers through the whole year. To maintain an adequate numbers and kinds of spare parts in the service center, a systematic manufacturing and distributing system should be studied.

      • 외상성 뇌손상환자의 MMPI Profile예 따른 정신과적 증상

        This study was to investigate psychiatric symptoms of patients with traumatic brain injury in the MMPI profile. 88 patients with traumatic brain injury and 45 normal persons were underwent the MMPI and SCL-90-R. The results were as follows. 1) The MMPI profile of patients with traumatic brain injury were different from normal persons. 2) Traumatic brain injury patients were divided into neurotic profile and psychotic profile groups in the MMPI. 3) Group with psychotic profile of traumatic brain injury in the MMPI showed elevated paranoid ideation and psychoticism subscales of SCL-90-R. 4) Group with neurotic profile of traumatic brain injury in MMPI showed an elevated somatization subscale of SCL-90-R. 5) In the scores of GSI and PSDI of the SCL-90-R, group with neurotic profile of traumatic brain injury in the MMPI were higher than normal persons, but lower than the group with psychotic profile of head trauma. Finally, this study of the MMPI profile of traumatic brain injury showed 7-8-6-2 profile and 1-3-2 profile. The group showing 7-8-6-2 profile presented both psychotic and neurotic symptoms and 1-3-2 profile showed an elevated somatization subscale.

      • 석회석을 이용한 vaterite 합성과 특성 연구

        국내 비금속광물 매장량의 대부분을 차지하며 강원ㆍ충청지역에 많은 매장량을 가지고 있는 석회석의 부가가치를 향상시키고자 탄산화법을 용용하여 바테라이트 결정형 침강성 탄산칼슘을 합성하고자 하였으며 현재 가행중인 석회석 광산의 시료를 사용하여 소성ㆍ수화실험 및 Ca(OH)₂-CH₃OH-H₂O-CO₂ 계에서 탄산화반응을 행하여 합성되는 바테라이트 입자의 입도 및 형상제어에 관하여 연구를 수행하였다. Ca(OH)₂-CH₃OH-H₂0-CO₂ 게의 탄산화반응에서 반응종결점은 Ca^(2+)이온의 농도가 0인 지점으로 이때의 pH는 약 9.6, 전기전도도는 100㎲/cm이었으며, H₂O-CH₃OH 비와 탄산화 반응온도, CaO 농도, 교반속도 및 CO₂가스 유량의 제어를 통하여 구형, 타원형, 판상형 및 아령형의 4가지 형상으로 바테라이트의 형상 제어가 가능하였으며 그 입도는 0.5㎛에서 5㎛의 범위 내에서의 제어가 가능하였다. In this study, we can manufacture the four types of vaterite from Ca(OH)₂ as starting material under each special carbonation reaction conditions. Vaterite formation continued until all of Ca^(2+) ions were depleted and simultaneously conductivity was 100㎲/cm. As the stirring rate goes up under the condition of lower than 1000rpm during the carbonation reaction the period of completion of reaction were getting shorter. But the period at the condition of higher than this rate wasn't changed. As the weight ratio of H₂O and CH₃OH goes up, particle size of vaterite grew up from 0.3㎛ to 0.8㎛. Yield of vaterite in above 0.45(the weight ratio of H₂O and CH₃OH) was remarkably decreased. It was found that dumbbell-like vaterite particles were formed during the carbonation reaction in methyl alcohol solution. The optimum conditions of spherical vaterite formation were H₂0-CH₃0H weight ratio of 0.26, CaO concentration of 3.0%, CO₂ gas flow rate of 500㎖/min and reaction temperature of 42℃. Ellipsoidal vaterite particles were formed under the conditions of H₂O-CH₃0H weight ratio of 0.26, CaO concentration of 3.5%, CO₂ gas flow rate of 500㎖/min and reaction temperature of 42℃. Plate-like vaterite was made also under the conditions of H₂0-CH₃0H weight ratio of 0.26, CaO concentration of 3.0%, CO₂gas flow rate of 200㎖/min and reaction temperature of 42℃. As changing the weight ratio of H₂O and CH₃OH or reaction temperature in carbonation process, particle size of vaterite could be controlled.

      • IC 실현에 적합한 정현파 능동 발진기의 회로 및 특성에 관한 연구(Ⅱ)

        Two kinds of simple active oscillators are proposed and analyzed assuming that operational amplifier has two-poles frequency characteristics. The first circuit is composed of one operational amplifier, one resistor and one grounded capacitor. The second oscillator is realized with one operational amplifier and three resitors. Proposed oscillators have the low sensitivity of the oscillation frequency for little variations of the passive element values. By the experimental results obtained with Op-Amp.?A741, the simple oscillators can be useful for the frequency range 1.25 KHz≤f? ≤400KHz for the active -R ocillator, and it is shown to transform the active-R oscillator circuit into the voltage controlled type.Therefore, two kinds of oscillators circuit are attractive for the IC realization, because they hve one operational amplifier, one resistor and one grounded capacitor, or three resistors.
