This study was investigated to research the basis of interdisciplinary fusion through the survey on the basis of the answers of professionals and general public, gender, humanities, science and engineering about the question of climate change and chimera which is one of the various phenomena that affect the human life. All respondents’ perceptions of climate change was high and natural disasters was showed the most destruction according to climate change. The answer of awareness of climate change and the damage, chimerism was significant differences between age groups sex, specialized domain-specific individuals. In addition, a group of respondents for science and engineering professionals was higher for awareness of climate change and the chimerism and heir negative opinion for chimerism was relatively low in comparison of other research groups.

A clinical study of Tobramycin was performed for prophylactic and therapeutic uses in various diseases. 1. Of 30 cases of postoperative patients, in which Tobra^(R) used, 26 cases(86.7%) were cured without infection, and three cases(3.3%) were improved after mild postoperative infections. 2. Tobra^(R) had good antibacterial action agianst E.coli, Pseudomonas, Enterococcus, Klebsiella and Staphylococcus. 3. Hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, ototxicity and other adverse effects of Tobramycin were not developed in this study.
Alcohol Induced Hepatic Degeneration in a Hepatitis C Virus Core Protein Transgenic Mouse Model

<P>Hepatitis C virus (HCV) has become a major public health issue. It is prevalent in most countries. HCV infection frequently begins without clinical symptoms, before progressing to persistent viremia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the majority of patients (70% to 80%). Alcohol is an independent cofactor that accelerates the development of HCC in chronic hepatitis C patients. The purpose of the current study was to evaluate ethanol-induced hepatic changes in HCV core-Tg mice and mutant core Tg mice. Wild type (NTG), core wild-Tg mice (TG-K), mutant core 116-Tg mice (TG-116) and mutant core 99-Tg mice (TG-99) were used in this investigation. All groups were given drinking water with 10% ethanol and 5% sucrose for 13 weeks. To observe liver morphological changes, we performed histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations. Histopathologically, NTG, TG-K and TG-116 mice showed moderate centrilobular necrosis, while severe centrilobular necrosis and hepatocyte dissociation were observed in TG-99 mice with increasing lymphocyte infiltration and piecemeal necrosis. In all groups, a small amount of collagen fiber was found, principally in portal areas. None of the mice were found to have myofibroblasts based on immunohistochemical staining specific for α-SMA. CYP2E1-positive cells were clearly detected in the centrilobular area in all groups. In the TG-99 mice, we also observed cells positive for CK8/18, TGF-β1 and phosphorylated (p)-Smad2/3 and p21 around the necrotic hepatocytes in the centrilobular area (<I>p</I> < 0.01). Based on our data, alcohol intake induced piecemeal necrosis and hepatocyte dissociation in the TG-99 mice. These phenomena involved activation of the TGF-β1/p-Smad2/3/p21 signaling pathway in hepatocytes. Data from this study will be useful for elucidating the association between alcohol intake and HCV infection.</P>
Small VCO-Gain Variation Adding a Bias-Shifted Inversion-Mode MOS Varactor

<P>This letter proposes a small voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO)-gain variation (Delta KVCO) technique using the capacitance-slope change of the varactor, which is achieved by adding a bias-shifted inversion-mode MOS varactor in parallel with a conventional accumulation-mode MOS varactor. This technique is investigated via theoretical analysis, which is confirmed by simulation and measurement. The proposed VCO shows a phase noise of -116.4 dBc/Hz at a 1-MHz offset frequency at 2.36 GHz, a figure of merit of -185 dBc/Hz, and a Delta KVCO of less than 8.6% over a frequency tuning range from 1.73 to 2.36 GHz while consuming 0.76 mW from a 0.8-V supply voltage. It was implemented using a 110-nm CMOS process with a chip area of 0.95 mm(2).</P>

Background/Aims: The integrins play a central role in maintaining the morphology of cell and tissue, growth, differentiation, migration, survival and apoptosis of cells, and angiogenesis. Although integrins are implicated in carcinogenesis and tumor angiogenesis, their precise contributions to the process are largely unknown. Methods: For paraffin embedded tissue samples of 102 gastric cancers (23 differentiated, 79 undifferentiated), the expression of integrin α5, α6, αV, β1, β3, β4 subunits and factor VIII were examined by immunohistochemical staining. The relationships between the expression of each integrin and several clinicopathologic parameters were analyzed. Results: The positive rates of integrins were as follows: α5 24%, β1 8%, α6 16%, β4 24%, αV 29%, and β3 34%. The expression of α5, α6, and αV was well correlated with the expression of β1, β4, and β3, respectively. The αV integrin was highly expressed in tumors of advanced T stage. The expressions of α6 and β4 integrins were significantly higher in differentiated tumors, but the β3 integrin was significantly expressed in undifferentiated tumors. The number of tumor vessels has positive correlation with αV integrin expression. Conclusions: These findings suggest that integrin α6β4 is one of the key factors in determining tumor differentiation and growth pattern. The integrin αVβ3 may be related to the angiogenesis especially in advanced gastric cancer. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2002;40:355-363)
멀티프로세서 시스템을 위한 동적 전압 조절 기반의 효율적인 스케줄링 기법

The DVS(Dynamic Voltage Scaling) technique is the method to reduce the dynamic energy consumption. As using slack times, it extends the execution time of the big load operations by changing the frequency and the voltage of variable voltage processors. Researches, that controlling the energy consumption of the processors and the data transmission among processors by controlling the bandwidth to reduce the energy consumption of the entire system, have been going on. Since operations in multiprocessor systems have the data dependency between processors, however, the DVS techniques devised for single processors are not suitable to improve the energy efficiency of multiprocessor systems. We propose the new scheduling algorithm based on DVS for increasing energy efficiency of multiprocessor systems. The proposed DVS algorithm can improve the energy efficiency of the entire system because it controls frequency and voltages having the data dependency among processors.
분산 동영상 부호화 시스템을 위한 LDPC 부호 설계 및 성능 평가

LDPC(1ow density parity check) 부호는 낮은 복잡성과 Shannon의 한계에 근접하는 오류 정정 능력을 보이기 때문에 turbo 부호와 함께 많은 응용 분야에 적용되고 있다. 최근에는 분산 동영상 부호화(distributed video coding: DVC) 시스템의 Wyner-Ziv 프레임 복호를 위해서도 LDPC 부호가 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DVC 시스템을 위한 LDPC 부호를 설계하기 위해 패리티 체크 행렬 H를 설계하고 부호율 적응적인(rate adaptive) 특성을 만족하기 위해 H 행렬의 패리티 점검 노드를 효율적으로 병합하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 cycle의 연결성을 고려한 ACE(approximation cycles EMD) 알고리즘을 기반으로 효율적인 LDPC 부호를 설계하고 부호율 적응적인 특성을 갖도록 하기 위해 H 행렬의 크기와 압축율을 고려하여 병합 범위를 지정하고 지정된 범위에 따라 패리티 점검 노드를 병합한다. 그리고 ACE 알고리즘의 계수와 차수 분포를 변화시키면서 설계한 LDPC 부호의 성능을 해석한다. Low density parity check (LDPC) code is widely used, since it shows superior performance close to Shannon limit and its decoding complexity is lower than turbo code. Recently, it is used as a channel code to decode Wyner-Ziv frames in distributed video coding (DVC) system. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to design the parity check matrix H of LDPC codes. In order to apply LDPC code to DVC system, the LDPC code should have rate compatibility. Thus, we also propose a method to merge check nodes of LDPC code to attain the rate compatibility. LDPC code is designed using ACE algorithm and check nodes are merged for a given code rate to maximize the error correction capability. The performance of the designed LDPC code is analyzed extensively by computer simulations.
