      • An Improved Method of Maximum Power Point Tracking Strategy for Wind Power Conversion System

        The turbine speed loop adjustment is the key link of the designing of the controller for the fixed pitch variable speed wind energy conversion systems (WECS). Because of the strong nonlinear, big inertia and mechanical damping characteristics, it’s difficult to designing the controller of the wind power systems. In this paper, a small signal model is present, and based on the analyzing; a wind turbine speed loop regulator is designed. Then, a method of tracking the peak power conversion system is proposed, which is independent of the turbine parameters and air density. At last, simulation system is built, and the results of the simulation experiments show that, the performance of the controller algorithm meet the requirements of the MPPT without wind measurement.

        Combined Assessment of Serum Alpha-Synuclein and Rab35 is a Better Biomarker for Parkinson’s Disease

        Background and Purpose It is essential to develop a reliable predictive serum biomarker for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Te accumulation of alpha-synuclein (αSyn) and up-regulated expression of Rab35 participate in the etiology of PD. Te purpose of this investigation was to determine whether the combined assessment of serum αSyn and Rab35 is a useful predictive biomarker for PD. Methods Serum levels of αSyn or Rab35 were determined in serum samples from 59 sporadic PD patients, 19 progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) patients, 20 multiple system atrophy (MSA) patients, and 60 normal controls (NC). Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves were calculated to determine the diagnostic accuracy of αSyn or/and Rab35 in discriminating PD patients from NC or atypical parkinsonian patients. Results The levels of αSyn and Rab35 were increased in PD patients. The serum level of Rab35 was positively correlated with that of αSyn in PD patients. Compared to analyzing αSyn or Rab35 alone, the combined analysis of αSyn and Rab35 produced a larger area under the ROC curve and performed better in discriminating PD patients from NC, MSA patients, or PSP patients. When age was dichotomized at 55, 60, 65, or 70 years, the combined assessment of αSyn and Rab35 for classifying PD was better in the group below the cutof age than in the group above the cutof age. Conclusions Combined assessment of serum αSyn and Rab35 is a better biomarker for discriminating PD patients from NC or atypical parkinsonian patients, and is a useful predictive biomarker for younger sporadic PD patients.

        A Study on Video Remix Creation Using Social Media : Based on the Film Life in a Day Utilizing YouTube Clips

        영화와 비디오 아트의 창작방식은 지속적으로 변화하고 있다. 인터넷의 급속한 발전과 함께 오늘날의 영화 제작자들은 아트 작업을 하는데 있어, 더 많은 기회와 선택을 얻게 되었다. 본 논문은 유튜브 클립을 영상제작의 소스로 이용한 최근 비디오 작업에 대한 연구이다. 영화와 비디오 작업에서 유튜브 클립을 이 용한 점은 다양한 의미를 제공한다. 첫째, 직접 촬영하는 대신, 이미 존재하는 재료를 소스로 이용한다. 둘 째, 이런 작업 방식은 주어진 시간 안에 다양한 지역에 있는 참여자들의 정보를 수집 할 수 있게 한다. 단, 이런 작업방식은 더 비판적이고 더 계획적인 편집 테크닉을 필요하게 된다. 유튜브 클립을 이용한 최 근 비디오 리믹스 작업의 의미와 전략을 찾기 위해, 본 논문은 영화의 편집법와 정보 수집법에 대해서 연 구 한다. 편집법에 대해서는 몽타주의 개념, 쿨레쇼프 효과와 몽타주의 새로운 형식이자 같은 주제를 가진 수많은 영상 클립들을 수집하는 작업방식인 '슈퍼컷'에 대해서 논의 하고 정보수집법의 획기적인 면에 대해서는 유튜브를 이용한 크라우드 소싱의 개념을 연구 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서 영화 "Life in a Day" 를 주요 연구 자료로 사용하게 된다.

      • Relationship Between GSTT1 Gene Polymorphism and Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Patients from China

        Objective: The results from studies on associations of the glutathione S-transferase T1 (GSTT1) gene polymorphism and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk in Chinese populations are still conflicting. This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship in detail. Methods: Eligible reports were recruited into this meta-analysis from the databases of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and CBM-disc (China Biological Medicine Database). Results were expressed with odds ratios (OR) for dichotomous data, and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were also calculated. Results: Eighteen investigations were identified for the analysis of association between polymorphic deletion of GSTT1 and HCC, consisting of 2,693 patients with HCC and 4,696 controls. Null genotype of GSTT1 was associated with HCC susceptibility in Chinese (OR=1.53, 95%CI: 1.28-1.82; P<0.00001). Conclusion: The GSTT1 null genotype is associated with HCC susceptibility in Chinese.

      • Visual Perception Preserving Decolorization Method

        This paper presents a decolorization method using gradient and saliency as the maintained features in the conversion to preserve the local and global visual perception. First, we construct a linear parametric mapping function of RGB color channels. Then, we calculate the feature value of each pixel in the color image and the parameterized grayscale image, the feature value integrates the pixel gradient and region saliency. Finally, we search for the parameters which can get the minimum of the total differences between the feature values of color and grayscale images, and substitute into the linear parametric function to get the decolorization result. To enhance the efficiency of getting the best parameters, we properly relax the strict computation formulas of the gradient and saliency to construct a linear least square problem, and obtain the optimal parameters by solving optimization. Experimental results show that our method using the discrete searching strategy can maintain the contrasts meanwhile avoid the excessive enlargement of the contrasts during the color-to-gray conversion, this property guarantees the preserving of the visual perception. Our method using the linear least square strategy can reduce the computation time and frequently get the similar results with our discrete searching method.

        Self-healing capacity of damaged rock salt with different initial damage

        In order to analyze the healing effectiveness of rock salt cracks affected by the applied stresses and time, we used the ultrasonic technology to monitor the ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) variations for different initial stress-damaged rock salts during self-healing experiments. The self-healing experiments were to create different conditions to improve the microcracks closure or recrystallized, which the self-healing effect of damaged salt specimens were analyzed during the recovery period about 30 days. We found that: The ultrasonic pulse velocity of the damaged rock salts increases rapidly during the first 9 days recovery, and the values gradually increase to reach constant values after 30 days. The damaged value and the healed value were identified based on the variation of the wave velocity. The damaged values of the specimens that are subject to higher initial damage stress are still keeping in large after 30 days recovery under the same recovery condition It is interesting that the damage and the healing were not in the linear relationship, and there also existed a damage threshold for salt cracks healing ability. When the damage degree is less than the threshold, the self-healing ratio of rock salt is increased with the increase in damage degree. However, while the damage degree exceeds the threshold, the self-healing ratio is decreased with the increase in damage.

      • Power and Promise of Ubiquitin Carboxyl-terminal Hydrolase 37 as a Target of Cancer Therapy

        Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 37 (UCH37, also called UCHL5), a member of the deubiquitinating enzymes, can suppress protein degradation through disassembling polyubiquitin from the distal subunit of the chain. It has been proved that UCH37 can be activated by proteasome ubiqutin chain receptor Rpn13 and incorporation into the 19S complex. UCH37, which has been reported to assist in the mental development of mice, may play an important role in oncogenesis, tumor invasion and migration. Further studies will allow a better understanding of roles in cell physiology and pathology, embryonic development and tumor formation, hopefully providing support for the idea that UCH37 may constitute a new interesting target for the development of anticancer drugs.

        A new method for safety classifi cation of structures, systems and components by refl ecting nuclear reactor operating history into importance measures

        Risk-informed safety classification of structures, systems and components (SSCs) is very important forensuring the safety and economic efficiency of nuclear power plants (NPPs). However, previous methodsfor safety classification of SSCs do not take the plant operating modes or the operational process of SSCsinto consideration, thus cannot concentrate on the safety and economic efficiency accurately. In thiscontribution, a new method for safety classification of SSCs based on the categorization of plant operating modes is proposed, which considers the NPPs operating history to improve the economic efficiencies while maintaining the safety. According to the time duration of plant configurations in plantoperating modes, average importances of SSCs are accessed for an NPP considering the operationalprocess, and then safety classification of SSCs is performed for plant operating modes. The correctnessand effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by application in an NPP's safety classificationof SSCs

      • A Secret Sharing Scheme Based on AES

        In order to solve the key setting difficulty and the key security problem in the file encryption, key distributed storage technology may be a proper choice to help improve the safety of the key. In the paper, a novel secret sharing scheme is proposed by AES encryption algorithm for file confidentiality, dynamic key generation mechanism to generate keys, multi-secret-sharing ideas on key pre-treatment, using Shamir threshold scheme for secret dispersed storage. Finally, a few tests are carried out and the test results suggest that the efficiency of the whole scheme is good.
