        Determination of Nutrient Contents and In vitro Gas Production Values of Some Legume Forages Grown in the Harran Plain Saline Soils

        The aim of this study was to determine the nutritive value of some legume species in salt-affected soils of South-East Anatolian region using chemical composition and in vitro gas production kinetics. In this study, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium alexandrinum, Medicago sativa were sown and tested in four different locations. A 3 by 4 factorial design with 3 legume species and 4 salt levels (non salty electrical conductivity (EC)<4 dS/m; low salt: 4 dS/m>EC<8 dS/m, medium saline: 8 dS/m>EC<16 dS/m and high salt: 16 dS/m>EC) was used in the study. Results indicated that salinity and plants had no significant effect on ash and ether extract. Dry matter (DM), acid detergent fiber, digestible dry matter, dry matter intake (DMI) were affected by plant, salinity and plant${\times}$salinity interaction. On the other hand neutral detergent fiber, relative feed value (RFV), and DMI were affected by salinity and plant${\times}$salinity interaction. Mineral contents were affected by plant species, salinity and salinity${\times}$plants interactions. In vitro gas production, their kinetics and estimated parameters such as were not affected by salinity whereas the gas production up to 48 h, organic matter digestibility, metabolizable energy (ME), and net energy lactation ($NE_L$) were affected by plant and plant${\times}$salt interaction. Generally RFVs of all species ranged from 120 to 210 and were quite satisfactory in salty conditions. Current results show that the feed value of Medicago sativa is higher compared to Lotus corniculatus and Trifolium alexandrinum.

        Presentation of Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis Type 3 Mimicking Wilson Disease: Molecular Genetic Diagnosis and Response to Treatment

        Progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis type 3 (PFIC3) is an autosomal recessive disorder of cholestasis of hepatocellular origin, typically seen in infancy or childhood caused by a defect in the ABCB4 located on chromosome 7. Here we report on an older patient, aged 15, who presented with biochemical testing that led to an initial consideration of a diagnosis of Wilson disease (WD) resulting in a delayed diagnosis of PFIC3. Diagnosis of PFIC3 was later confirmed by molecular studies that identified novel mutations in the ABCB4 gene. Cholestasis due to PFIC3 can cause elevated hepatic copper and increased urine copper excretion that overlap with current diagnostic criteria for WD. Molecular diagnostics are very useful for establishing the diagnosis of PFIC3. Ursodeoxycholic acid ameliorates cholestasis in PFIC3, and may help mediate a reduction in hepatic copper content in response to treatment.

        The present study provides analysis of the policies that are being carried out with respect to children, in conflict with the penal law as it pertains to the context of confinement, and specifically those laws pertaining to vocational education and training. For this purpose, it is necessary to begin the first section with an overview of the policy transformations that have been carried out in Argentina, and specifically, in the situation of its application in the province of Buenos Aires, which have resulted in the movement of the doctrine from a state of irregularity, to one in which the rights of children are being protected and their interests are being promoted. In the second section, analysis is provided of the theory of human capital, which is the foundational concept for providing training in the context of confinement. In the third section, empirical data is provided in order to characterize the social and family profiles of the youths who are part of the institution of incarceration, as well as the functionality of the educational methods that are proposed. In the final section, five points are postulated which are considered indispensable to (re)formulate the design of the social policies for this social sector.

        Tensile Strength of Structural Expanded Clay Lightweight Concrete Subjected to Different Curing Conditions

        In this paper the tensile strength of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (LWAC) produced with different types of expanded clayaggregates is characterized. A comprehensive experimental study was carried out on different concrete compositions with meancompressive strengths from 30 to 70 MPa and density classes from D1.6 to D2.0. The influence on the splitting tensile strength andmodulus of rupture of the curing conditions and initial wetting of lightweight aggregate is studied. For concretes of equivalentcompressive strength, the tensile strength is almost independent of the type of lightweight aggregate. The tensile strength of LWACwas about 0.8-0.85 of that of Normal Weight Concrete (NWC) of equal strength, decreasing to about 0.7 in LWAC with lightweightsand. Contrary to compressive strength, the LWAC with less porous aggregates has lower tensile structural efficiency than NWC. Butthe tensile structural efficiency of moist-cured concrete is little affected by the volume and wetting conditions of aggregate. There is areduction in the splitting strength of air-cured concrete that is not predicted in the normalization and it is greater for NWC than forLWAC. However, the modulus of rupture of air-cured LWAC can only be about 0.5-0.8 of that of NWC of equal strength.

        The Effect of Age on the Myosin Thermal Stability and Gel Quality of Beijing Duck Breast

        The effect of age (22, 30, 38, and 46 days) on Beijing duck breast myosin gels was investigated. The results showed that the water holding capacity (WHC) and gel strength were markedly improved at the age of 30 days. Differential scanning calorimetry suggested that the myosin thermal ability increased at the age of 30 and 38 days (p<0.05). A compact myosin gel network with thin cross-linked strands and small regular cavities formed at the age of 30 days, which was resulted from the higher content of hydrophobic interactions and disulfide bonds. Moreover, the surface hydrophobicity of myosin extracted from a 30-day-old duck breast decreased significantly under temperature higher than 80℃ (p<0.05). This study illustrated that myosin extracted from a 30-day-old duck’s breast enhanced and stabilized the WHC, thermal stability and molecular forces within the gel system. It concluded that age is an essential influencing factor on the myosin thermal stability and gel quality of Beijing duck due to the transformation of fibrils with different myosin character.

        신뢰가 노인세대와 미래세대에 대한 책임감에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 세대연대이론을 이론적 배경으로 삼아 신뢰가 타 세대에 대한 책임감에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고, 이 관계에서연령통합인식이 매개역할을 하는지 확인해 보기 위해 이루어졌다. 전국의 20~79세 성인 남녀 1,000명을 대상으로 온라인으로 설문조사한 자료를 사용하였으며, 구조방정식 모형을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 신뢰는 노인세대에 대한 책임감과 미래세대에대한 책임감에 모두 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 이러한 관계에서 연령통합인식이 부분적으로 매개하는 역할을하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 대해 지속 가능한 저출산⋅고령화 시대를 위한 실천적, 정책적 대안을 제시하였다. With the intergenerational solidarity as the theoretical background, this study attempted to investigate the effect of trust on responsibility for older and future generations and to confirm whether perception of age-integration plays a mediating role in these relationships. Data from an online survey of 1,000 adult men and women aged 20 to 79 nationwide were used, and the data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. As a result of the analyses, it was found that trust had a significant effect on both responsibility for the older generations and responsibility for future generations. In addition, perception of age-integration had a partial mediating role in these relationships. Practical and policy recommendations were proposed for the sustainable era of low fertility and population aging.
