4 종류의 폐기물(생활하수오니, 공단하수오니, 피혁오니, 주정오니)과 대조구로서 돈분퇴비가 지렁이에게 미치는 독성을 평가하기 위하여 대표적인 유해성 평가 biomarker 3종류 (acetylcholinesterase, cytochrome $P_{450}$, heat shock protein 70)를 사용하였다. 유기성 폐기물에 대한 acetylcholinesterase의 활성은 돈분퇴비의 경우 활성이 약간 촉진된 반면 생활하수오니, 공단하수오니, 피혁오니, 주정오니는 영향을 미치지 않았다. Cytochrome $P_{450}$의 활성은 공단하수오니와 피혁오니는 활성을 억제하였고 생활하수오니, 주정오니, 돈분퇴비는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 또한 Hsp70의 발현량은 증류수보다 돈분퇴비는 1.9배, 주정오니는 3.0배, 생활하수오니는 3.3배, 공단오니는 4.4배, 피혁오니는 4.7배 순으로 지렁이 (Eisenia fetida)에게 스트레스를 많이 주었다. 이상의 결과로부터, 4 종류의 폐기물(생활하수오니, 공단하수오니, 피혁오니, 주정오니)은 돈분퇴비보다 독성이 강한 것으로 판단하였다. 또한 AChE, Cytochrome $P_{450}$과 Hsp70은 추후 유기성 폐기물의 유해성을 모니터링하기에 적합한 biomarker로서 가치가 있다고 생각한다. The toxicitiy of organic sludge such as municipal sewage sludge (MSS), industrial sewage sludge (ISS), alcohol fermentation processing sludge (AFPS) and leather processing sludge (LPS) were evaluated with three environmental biomarkers as acetylcholinesterase, cytochrome P450, and heat shock protein 70 extracted from earthworm (Eisenia fetida). Their toxicities were compared with those of pig manure compost (PMC). MSS, ISS, LPS, and AFPS did not significantly affect the acetylcolinesterase activity, whereas only the elutriate of PMC slightly was increased the activity. MSS, AFPS, and PMC tended to slightly inhibit the cytochrome $P_{450}$ activity, but ISS and LPS showed significantly the inhibitory effect on cytochrome $P_{450}$. The hsp70 expression began to increase after treatments and showed high induction at 6 hour, followed by zero level at around 12 hour. The quantity of the hsp70 expressed by elutriate treatments of PMC, AFPS, MSS, ISS, and LPS was 1.9, 3.0, 3.3, 4.4, and 4.7 fold higher than that of distilled water. These results indicate that in toxicity tests of five organic waste materials, four kinds of sludge materials appeared more toxic than PMC. Results of AChE, P450, and hsp70 of earthworm might be useful for expecting or assessing an effect by exposure of organic wastes to earthworms in soil.

This experiment was conducted elucidate the effects of temperature and solar radiation in two locations on growth and dry matter production in rice. Four rice cultivars, i. e., Cheonmabyeo, Daekwanbyeo , Sobaekbyeo and Taebaekbyeo were tested at Suweon and Jinbu in 1989. The results obtained were summaried as the follows; 1. The daily mean temperatures at Jinbu and Suweon 18.1℃ and 23.8℃, respective, i. e., the difference between two locations was 5.7℃. The daily mean solar radiation at Jinbu was 16.9MJ/㎡ (404.3cal) and that at suweon was 14.8MJ/㎡(354.0cal), threfore, daily mean solar radiation was 2.1MJ/㎡(50.2ca1) higher at Jinbu than at Suweon. 2. The greater solar radiation during reproduction growth was, the more spikelets per unit area were produced at the daily mean temperature between 25℃∼28℃. 3. Heading dates of Cheonmabyeo, Daekwanbyeo and Sobaekbyeo were 12∼ 17days later at Jinbu than at Suweon, while that of Taekwanbyeo was delayed about 26 days at Jinbu. 4. Untill heading date Leaf Area Index was higher at Jinbu than at Suweon. 5. The Specific Leaf Area at both locations were 200-280㎠/g in the earlier growth stage, while those were 120-130㎠/g in later growth stage. 6. The Leaf Area Ratio was high in the early growth stage, was decreased as the growth was advanced, and tended to be greater at the location with high temperature than with low temperature. 7. Distribution ratio of brown rice grains less than 2.0㎜ in thickness was 59 % under low temperature at Jinbu (24.9℃ at day and 16.1℃ at night) at the early stage of ripening, While the ratio brown grain grater than 2.0㎜ in thickness was 55.7% under high temperature at Suweon (30.2℃ at day and 21.6℃ at night). High temperature in the early stage of the ripening stage appeared to be on of factors which resulted the thick grains. 8. Although number of panicles per hill was higher, number of spikelets for panicle was lower at Jinbu than at Suweon. On the other hand, ripening ratios of Cheonmabyeo, Daekwanbyeo and Sobaekbyeo were 12-26% and that of Taebaekbyeo was 88% lower at Jinbu. 9. A negative correlation was observed between average daily mean temperature and the number of days from sowing to heading.

Agenesis of dorsal pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly that arises from the failure of the dorsal pancreatic bud of endodermal cells to form the body and tail of the pancreas. It may be associated with diabetes mellitus, pancreatic exocrine dysfunction, or abdominal pain. Complete or partial agenesis of dorsal pancreas has been reported in a small number of pediatric and adult patients. A case is herein described involving a complete agenesis of dorsal pancreas and diabetes mellitus. A 38-year-old man with a 7-months history of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus was admitted due to weight loss and abdominal pain. Abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography showed a normal biliary tree and enlarged head of the pancreas without visualization of the pancreatic body and tail. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) revealved the short duct of Wirsung in the uncinate process and a head without opacification of any ducts in the pancreatic body or tail. The patient underwent explo-laparotomy for evaluation of the suspected pancreatic cancer. The patient was diagnosed as having complete agenesis of the dorsal pancreas by ERCP, CT, and surgery.
