      • BOD 센서 개발에 관한 연구(Ⅱ)

        생물학적 산소요구량인 BOD는 오수의 오염정도 특히 분해 가능한 유기물 함유량의 정도를 측정하는데 널리 사용된다. 그러나 일반적으로 BOD 측정은 20℃에서 5일간 반응시켜야만 결과를 얻을 수 있으므로 시간이 많이 걸리고 상당한 기술을 필요로 하기 때문에 보다 신속하고 재현성이 좋은 BOD 측정법의 개발이 요구된다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 미생물을 전극에 고정화하여 BOD 센서를 만들어 상품화 하고자 한다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 내용과 범위로 수행하였다. 1. 저렴하고 실용화할 수 있는 전기화학 디바이스 개발 이들 각 부분을 별도로 제작한다든가 구입할려면 많은 비용이 필요하므로 어느 실험실이나 기관 내에 PC(personal Computer)가 모두 있으므로 PC에 장착하여 BOD 측정을 할 수 있는 기판을 만들었다. 2. 용존산소 측정장치 개발 미생물이 유기물질을 감지하여 변화된 산소의 양을 측정하는 용존산소 측정장치 개발 3. 미생물의 장기 활성 유지 방법 고안 미생물은 생명을 가지고 있으므로 오랫동안 활성을 가지려면 생명을 유지 할 수 있도록 조건을 만들어 보관하여야 한다. 4. BOD5 값과 제작한 장치로 측정한 BOD 값의 비교 일반적으로 BOD측정은 20℃에서 5일간 반응시켜야만 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 이때 얻은 BOD5 값과 제작한 장치로 여러 가지 당류와 식품공장 폐수 그리고 섬유공장 폐수의 BOD 값을 비교하므로서 제작한 장치의 정밀도와 신뢰도를 비교하였다. 1. The development of the low price, high reliable and useful electrochemical device Biosensors are measurement sensors consisting of the receptor part which is immobilized biocatalytic material(intact microbian cells) was deposited on electrode surface and other transducer part, which are sensitive to many physicochemical parameters. The manufacture and purchase of each part is very expensive. In this research, we made the semiconductive board to attach a personal computer to measure BOD. By utilizing this apparatus, rapid, simple and reliable BOD measurement was achived without another equipment. 2. The development of apparatus measuring dissolved oxygen. This dissolved oxygen(DO) meter is suitable to measure BOD 3. The new method to maintain activity of microorganism for long time. As microorganism have the life, in order to keep activity of it for long time. We must sustain the suitable condition for surrival of microorganism. 4. The compared BOD5 with BOD which is measured by the manufactured apparatus. The conventional BOD test requires five days, 20℃ for incubation as the compared BOD5 with fiber and food plant waste water's BOD. We can confirm the precision and reliability of manufactured apparatus.

      • 초등학교 아동의 태권도 수련이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

        The aim of the study is examining the influence of elementary schoolchildren's Taekwondo training on their sense of self-respects. The subjects of the study are the boy students of the fourth, fifth, and sixth school year of elementary schools in Seoul at the present time, and the method of sampling from the population is the multi-stage cluster sampling. The way of data gathering is that let the subjects write out questionnaires using the self-evaluation recording, and the 326 person's data on material examination process is analyzed by IBM PC SAS Package. The methods of analysis include the confidence level verification by sub-areas, examination of questionnaires, re-examination of confidence level, computing the average and the standard deviation by each of 4 self-respects areas unitary variable quantities analysis and the Tukey's post data verification. The results of the study over the influence of elementary schoolchildren's Taekwondo training on their sense of self-respects from the methodologies and process above draw conclusions like follows: 1. The fifth school year students gained the highest mark following the fourth, and the sixth school year in the whole, social, home, and school life senses of self-respect by school year, but the differences among them are meaningless statistically. 2. The training students marked higher than the training experienced students in the whole, social, home, and school life senses of self-respect by whether they have trained or not, but the differences among them are meaningless statistically. 3. According to the grades, the meaningful differences between the Poom(senior grade) holders and the Keup(junior grade) holders(p=0.0009) was showed in the whole senses of self-respect, and the social senses of self-respect was differed much between the Poom holders and 8-4 Keup holders(p=0.0058), the home life senses of self-respect between the 3 Poom holders and the Keup holders, 1-2 Poom holders and 8-4 Keup holders showed meaningful differences(p=0.0010), but the differences in the school life senses of self-respect are meaningless statistically. 4. According to personal career, the differences have something significants in the whole senses of self-respect among the students who have trained over 3, 2-3 years and less than 1 year(p=0.0062), in the social senses of self-respect among the students who have trained over 3, 2-3, 1-2 years and less than 1 year(p=0.0103), and in home life senses of self-respect between the students who have trained over 3 years and 1-2 years or less than 1 year, between 2-3 years and less than 1 year(p=0.0004), but the differences in the school life senses of self-respect are meaningless statistically.

        This paper aimed to evaluate the toughness of the 600N class TMC column to beam steel welded joint which subjected to cyclic loading. The specimens were designed as a unit frame of tall building's middle-storeys, and cross type weld connection, 600N class TMC steel were used for column and SM490 for beam. Two tests were carried out. Two specimens were considered to have the same structural property and ductile capacity. The specimen adapted scallop type showed the same toughness value as the speciment used non-scallop type.

        The purpose of this investigation was to develop a new carrier using chitin and glucan as the model for Aspergillus oryzae cell wall. In case of the ratio of chitin and glucan(3/1), the activity of the immobilized protease had higher than that of model(chitin/glucan=1/3) and carriers were formed gel. In case of soluble chitin and glucan treated with calcium carbonate, there were a 1.8-fold increase in activity of immobilized protease compared with untreated chitin. The scanning electron microscope image showed that a pore size of this carrier had a homogenized pore size and a smooth surface.

        CANDU 사용후핵연료 수송용기 방사선차폐 영향평가

        중수로형 원자로에서 방출되는 사용후핵연료 다발을 안전하게 운반할 목적으로 CANDU 수송용기에 대한 방사선차폐해석을 수행하였다. 핵연료의 연소도는 7,800MWD/MTU, 냉각기간은 5년으로 하여 ORIGEN2 코드로 방사선원을 구하고 이것으로 핵연료 378다발을 운반할 수 있는 수송용기의 차폐체 두께변화에 따른 선량율 영향을 비교하였다. 계산은 ANISN과 DOT4.2 코드를 사용하였으며, 해석결과 최적의 차폐구조를 선정하였으며, 또한 IAEA 및 국내원자력법의 수송법규에 명시된 정상수송 및 가상사고조건에 따른 차폐해석을 수행하여 CANDU 수송용기의 안전성을 입증하였다. A shielding analysis of the shipping cask for transporting the CANDU spent fuel bundles has been studied. Radiation source term has been calculated on spent fuel with burnup of 7,800 MWD/MTU and 5 years cooling time by ORIGEN2 code. The shielding calculation for the cask capable of transporting 378 bundles of CANDU spent fuel has been made by use of 1-D ANISN and 2-D DOT 4.2 codes. As result of analysis, the optimum shield thickness of cask was obtained. And it is proved that the safety in radiation shielding under normal transport and hypothetical accident conditions is confirmed to satisfy the allowable values specified in IAEA Safety Series No. 6 and the Korean Atomic Law.

        흰쥐의 브르모벤젠대사계에 미치는 어성초의 영향과 페놀성 화합물의 분리

        Effects of Houttuynia cordata on the level of lipid peroxide and the enzyme activities of the liver were investigated in bromobenzene-induced rats. Lipid peroxide content in liver was increased by bromobenzene. It was decreased when the methanol extract from the aerial parts of H. cordata was treated to the rat. The methanol extract reduced the activities of aminopyrine N-demethylase and aniline hydroxylase that increased by bromobenzene, however did not affect glutathione S-transferase activity. The methanol extract recovered the activity of epoxide hydrolase activity that decreased significantly by bromobenzene. We suggest that under our experimental conditions the extract might play an important play in the prevention of hepatotoxicity by reduction of aminopyrine N-demethylase and aniline hydroxylase activities as well as enhancement of epoxide hydrolase activity. Six phenolic compounds have been isolated from H. cordata and identified by means of spectral analysis as protocatechuic acid, quercetin, apigenin, afzelin, hyperoside and quercitrin.

        Original Articles : Laser Peripheral Iridotomy with Iridoplasty in Primary Angle Closure Suspect: Anterior Chamber Analysis by Pentacam

        Purpose: To compare conventional laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) and LPI combined with laser peripheral iridoplasty in eyes with primary angle closure suspect (PACS) by assessment of anterior chamber dimensional changes using a Pentacam. Methods: Forty-eight eyes of 24 subjects with bilateral PACS were recruited consecutively. Each eye was randomly allocated to treatment with conventional LPI, argon LPI only, or LPI plus iridoplasty, which consisted of simultaneous argon LPI and peripheral iridoplasty. Anterior chamber measurements were performed on each eye using a Pentacam, both before and after treatment. Mean anterior chamber depth (ACD), anterior chamber volume (ACV), and anterior chamber angle were measured, and topographic ACD analysis was performed. Results were compared between the two treatment groups. Results: After treatment with either conventional LPI or LPI plus iridoplasty, the mean ACD and ACV increased significantly. Topographic ACD analysis revealed that the mid-to-peripheral ACD increase was significantly greater in the LPI plus iridoplasty group than in eyes treated with conventional LPI. Intraocular pressure changes and post-LPI complications did not differ between the groups. Conclusions: Compared with conventional LPI, our study showed that LPI plus iridoplasty improved the mid-to-peripheral ACD increase. This procedure may have a role as an adjunct for reducing angle closure by simultaneously eliminating pupillary and non-pupillary block components.

        Epidemiological investigation of the 119th confirmed Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus case with an indefinite mode of transmission during the Pyeongtaek outbreak in Korea

        Since the first case was diagnosed on May 20, 2015, there were 186 confirmed cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) until the end of outbreak in South Korea. Although medical institutions were the most identifiable sources of MERS transmission in South Korea, similar to other countries, in-depth epidemiological investigation was required for some confirmed cases with indefinite contact history or hospital visit records. The subject of epidemiological investigation in the present study was a 35 year-old male patient diagnosed with MERS (#119) who lived in Asan-city and worked in Pyeongtaek-city. Various potential sources of transmission were carefully investigated. While he could have been exposed to MERS through a friend from Saudi Arabia or confirmed MERS cases in his workplace, neighboring areas, and medical institutions, as well as contacts in his home, the chances of transmission were low; however, the potential for transmission through his local community could not be excluded. Practically, it was difficult to determine the modes of transmission for all outbreak cases in communicable disease that occurred in this short period of time. The investigation to identify the mode of transmission in this case was ultimately unsuccessful. However, the various data collected and analyzed to reveal modes of transmission provided detailed information that could not be collected using only interview surveys.

        Hepatoprotective Activities of Rosa davurica Root Extract in Rats Intoxicated with Bromobenzene

        Bromobenzene으로 간독성을 유발한 흰쥐에 생열귀나무 뿌리를 투여하여 bromobenzene 대사계에 미치는 효소활성을 관찰하였다. Bromobenzene은 bromobenzene 2,3-oxide와 bromobenzene-3, 4-oxide로 전환되며, 3,4-oxide는 독성물질로서 epoxide hydrolase에 의해 무독성 bromobenzene-3,4-dihyrodiol로 대사 또는 glutathione S-transferase에 의하여 배설되기도 한다. 중국 민간에서 강장제로 사용하는 생열귀나무는 한방에서 소화불량, 위통 등의 치료에 사용되는 약용식물이다. 생열귀나무의 뿌리 추출물은 흰쥐의 간 epoxide 생성계에 관여하는 aminopyrine N-demethylase, aniline hydroxylase 활성과 epoxide를 대사시키는 glutathione S-transferase 활성에는 변화를 주지 않았다. 그러나 생열귀추출물 500 mg/kg 경구투여군은 eporide를 무독화시키는 epoxide hydrolase 활성에서 bromobenzene 투여로 효소활성이 저하된 대조군보다 33% 활성을 회복시켰다. 따라서 생열귀나무 뿌리는 간독성물질인 bromobenzene 대사에 관여하는 epoxide hydrolase 활성 증가로 인해 간보호작용이 일어나는 것으로 판단된다. To investigate hepatoprotective activities of the root extract of Rosa davurica, the activities of hepatic enzymes, aminopyrine N-demethylase, aniline hydroxylase, glutathione S-transferase and epoxide hydrolase in rats intoxicated with bromobenzene were studied. Pretreatment with the methanol extract from the roots of Rosa davurica did not show any significant effects on the increases of the activities of aminopyrine N-demethylase and aniline hydroxylase, enzymes forming toxic epoxide by bromobenzene. There was no change in glutathione S-transferase activity by Rosa davurica. However, the activity of epoxide hydrolase, and epoxide-removing enzyme, was increased 33% by the administration of 500 mg/kg of the methanol extract. From the results, the protection of Rosa davurica against bromobenzene-induced hepatotoxicity is thought to be via enhancing the activity of epoxide hydrolase, an enzyme removing toxic epoxide rather than through epoxide-producing system.
