Chinju is famous for an old castle located in downtown. To conserve its historic landscape, some districts on the north of the castle have been under the height regulation. The historic landscape, however, is being seriously disturbed by the huge buildings newly constructed at the south of the castle. So, and alternative height regulation is required to make up its deficiency. This study examined the ‘View Floor Analysis(VFA)’as a height regulation planning tool, and suggested an alternative ‘Building Height Regulation Plan’with its results. The VFA is a new method to find out the maximum building height permissible from the differences between the existing topography and an imaginary floor which repersents building height theresholds, The process of the VFA used in this study was ① digitizing contours, ② converting digital contours to DEM, ③ manipulating control lines(super-imposing & text editing), ④ making visual floor(TIN) and converting it to raster data, and ⑤ map calculating(map algebra). The results were as follows: 1.At most, three stories(9m) buildings were permissilbe in the districts by the rear-gate of the castle, 2.But, very tall buildings over even twenty stories were allowable at Deulmal, Okbong, and the districts near the station. 3.The closer to the castle, the shorter building permissible. And, the closer to the mountains around the city, the taller building allowable.

We investigated the antimicrobial activity of the hot-water extracts and methanol extracts from medicinal plants. Sixty-two samples were tested by disk diffusion method at concentrations of 5,000ppm and 10,000ppm. Seven species of medicinal plants showed a significant antimicrobial activity against various food-borne microorganisms.

연소에 의한 엔진 진동 특성에 관한 연구

Generally, a knock sensor for a high power engine detects cylinder wall vibration and estimates pressure vibration in the combustion chamber. In this study, so combustion pressure detected by pressure tranducer and cylinder wall vibration detected by an accelation sensor are estimated and the difference of those two signals are anlayzed. These two signals are analysed by frequency analysis method and compared with theorical knocking mode in the combustion chamber of the spark ignition engine. Design parameters of the knock sensor are determined by these analysed data.

Prostatic specipic antigen(PSA), neutral serine protease secreted exclusively by prostatic epithelial cell, has a number of application in the diagnosis of men with prostatic carcinoma. It is widely recognized that elevated PSA correlates with the presence of carcinoma. We measured serum PSA levels in normal controls, patients with benign prostate hyperplasia symptoms because to evaluate diagnostic value of PSA as a tumor marker for prostatic cancer. Mean values of serum PSA in normal controls and patients with BPH symptoms were 2.83±4.02, 23.48±62.17ng/ml, respectively(p<0.01). We conclude that serum PSA offers simple and objective tumor maker but interpretation of significance of a specific level measured is inexact.

사회환경교육의 교육과정 표준화 모형 및 통합프로그램 개발연구

This paper presents the development of standardized modules and an integrated program which will be used for social environmental education. The study objectives are to develop modules which are based on various environmental topics, to relate the regional environmental topics to the educational modules and program, and to include the demand of students in the modules and program. Literature and questionary surveys, as well as, module development method were utilized as research tools. The titles of developed modules are "The Green Plant Earth," "Unexpected Resources: Save Resources and Recycle", "Water as the Mother of All Lives", "The Blue Sky with Clean Air", and "Soil as the Home of All Living and Non-living Things". It is hoped that the developed modules and program are utilized as course materials and curriculum for social environmental education in various educational institutes. The study results will be materialized as multimedia in near futher.

Until recently, colorectal polyps were classified predominantly as hyperplastic or adenomatous. While adenomatous polyps are well-characterized precursor lesions of adenocarcinomas, hyperplastic polyps have been considered as benign lesion. However, some hyperplastic polyps with serrated morphology of the crypts have been recognized to have distinctive features and these polyps were termed ‘serrated adenomas’. Recent data show that sessile serrated adenomas (SSA) might be the precursors of serrated colonic cancers, underlining the necessity of identifying them. SSA is approximately 3% of all polyps, commonly appears as flat or sessile and yellowish due to mucus production. In the pathogenesis of SSA, progression to high grade dysplasia or early invasive carcinoma may be associated with serrated neoplasia pathway different from adenoma-carcinoma sequence. We report a case with a colon polyp diagnosed as sessile serrated adenoma with high grade dysplasia after endoscopic submucosal dissection.

『東醫寶鑑』身形門의 도가사상에 대한 고찰

『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 was written by Huh jun that was influenced by Cho Sun Sung Confucianism’s environment had been receptive to rich idea. 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 「Shin Hyung Mun」 was composed of the base on a full understanding in taoist idea. It had a real systemical structure, was help to taoist training. The taoist idea of 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 was made up of the extension of mature theory and training in Cho Sun Dan Hak. Specially, The taoist idea of 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 was had an effect on 『Euibangyoochui』 better as compared with 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 「Shin Hyung Mun」 in contents 『Shin Hyung Jang Bu DO』 generalized the whole contents of 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』, was influenced by taoist idea , also peculiar method that was not searched in other medical books. ‘Heart 心’ was handled importantally in 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 「Shin Hyung Mun」 under the influence of taoist idea and Cho Sun Sung Confucianism.

Small Heterodimer Partner Blocks Cardiac Hypertrophy by Interfering With GATA6 Signaling

<P><B><U>Rationale</U>:</B></P><P>Small heterodimer partner (SHP; NR0B2) is an atypical orphan nuclear receptor that lacks a conventional DNA-binding domain. Through interactions with other transcription factors, SHP regulates diverse biological events, including glucose metabolism in liver. However, the role of SHP in adult heart diseases has not yet been demonstrated.</P><P><B><U>Objective</U>:</B></P><P>We aimed to investigate the role of SHP in adult heart in association with cardiac hypertrophy.</P><P><B><U>Methods and Results</U>:</B></P><P>The roles of SHP in cardiac hypertrophy were tested in primary cultured cardiomyocytes and in animal models. SHP-null mice showed a hypertrophic phenotype. Hypertrophic stresses repressed the expression of SHP, whereas forced expression of SHP blocked the development of hypertrophy in cardiomyocytes. SHP reduced the protein amount of Gata6 and, by direct physical interaction with Gata6, interfered with the binding of Gata6 to GATA-binding elements in the promoter regions of natriuretic peptide precursor type A. Metformin, an antidiabetic agent, induced SHP and suppressed cardiac hypertrophy. The metformin-induced antihypertrophic effect was attenuated either by SHP small interfering RNA in cardiomyocytes or in SHP-null mice.</P><P><B><U>Conclusions</U>:</B></P><P>These results establish SHP as a novel antihypertrophic regulator that acts by interfering with GATA6 signaling. SHP may participate in the metformin-induced antihypertrophic response.</P>

ICF Based Comprehensive Evaluation for Post-Acute Spinal Cord Injury

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of the ICF for initial comprehensive evaluation of early post-acute spinal cord injury.Method A comprehensive evaluation of 62 early post-acute spinal cord injury (SCI) patients was conducted by rehabilitation team members, such as physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, medical social-workers, and nurses. They recorded each of their evaluation according to the ICF first level classification. The contents of the comprehensive evaluation were linked to the ICF second level categories, retrospectively. The linked codes were analyzed descriptively and were also compared with the brief ICF core set for early post-acute SCI.Results In the evaluation of early post-acute SCI patients based on the ICF first level categories, 19 items from the body functions domain, such as muscle power functions (b730) and urination functions (b620), 15 items from the body structures domain, including spinal cord and related structures (s120), 11 items from the activities and participation domain, such as transferring oneself (d420) and walking (d450), and 9 items from the environmental factors domain, e.g., health professionals (e355), were linked to the ICF second level categories. In total, 82.4% of all contents were linked to the brief ICF core set. Prognosis insight, a personal factor not linkable to an ICF code, was mentioned in 29.0% of all patients.Conclusion First level ICF categories can provide a structural base for a comprehensive evaluation in early post-acute spinal cord injury. However, frequently linked items, including the brief core set, as well as personal factors should be considered via a checklist in order to prevent the omission of significant contents.
