        Physiological Responses of Calystegia soldanella under Drought Stress

        This study was conducted to determine the extent of drought resistance based on physiological responses of Calystegia soldanella under water deficit. In order to investigate the changes of plant growth, stomatal density, photosynthesis, chlorophyll fluorescence, the contents of chlorophyll and carotenoid, osmolality, total ion contents, the contents of carbohydrate and proline, C. soldanella was grown under well watered and drought stressed conditions for 12 days. In this study,water-deficit resulted in remarkable growth inhibition of C. soldanella. The effect of water-deficit on plant growth was associated with low osmotic potential of soil. On day 12 after drought treatment, dry weight, relative water contents, number and area of leaves and stem length were lower than those of control. The stomatal conductance and net photosynthetic rate were significantly reduced in water stressed plant to regulate inner water contents and CO2 exchange through the stomatal pore. Chlorophyll fluorescence and chlorophyll contents were not different in comparison with the control,indicating that the efficiency of photosystem II was not affected by drought stress. This results could be explained that water-deficit in C. soldanella limits the photosynthetic rate and reduces the plant’s ability to convert energy to biomass. A significant increase in total ion contents and osmolality was observed on day 7 and day 12. Accumulation of proline in leaves is associated with the osmotic adjustment in C. soldanella to soil water-deficit. Consequently, this increase in osmolality in water stressed plant can be a result in the increase of ion contents and proline.

        복합 생균제가 육계의 생산성, 육질, 지방산 조성 및 면역 반응에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of mixed probiotic on the immunity, productivity index and mortality rate in the broiler. Total of 120 one-day-old Ross broilers chicks were randomly assigned into two treatments (control dietary group and probiotic-treated group) with three replications of each treatment. The probiotic group broiler had a lower mortality rate than control during the experimental period. The productivity index in the probiotic group increased significantly than the control group. The weight of the bursa of fabricius was high in the probiotic-treated group than the control group. Activated the immunity level after fed the probiotic mixed diet compared to the control group. Furthermore, the probiotic diet significantly decreased the saturated fatty the control group. Whereas the probiotic mixed diet increased the unsaturated fatty acid than the control group. Afterward, the diet including probiotic induced positive impact on broilers immunity level. This indicates that a probiotic mixed diet could be protecting the intestine from the invasion of a pathogenic organism. It would be beneficial to the poultry industries by decrease the broiler mortality rate with elevated the immunity.

        This paper proposes a new IP address lookup algorithm which applies a Bloom filter for the prefix search in a leaf-pushing trie. The proposed approach is differentiated from a previous approach in the way of programming the Bloom filter. The proposed algorithm in this paper does not program every node in a trie but programs internal nodes with at least a prefix child. Hence the Bloom filter size is greatly reduced. In addition, the proposed algorithm starts the search process from the longest length, which is 32 bits in IPv4, in order to utilize the characteristic of the leaf-pushing trie. Simulations using actual routing tables show that the proposed approach achieves less than 1.25 number of hash table accesses in average to perform an IP address lookup.

        시험 스트레스에 의한 단핵구의 IL1β합성 증가

        연구목적: 심리적 스트레스는 주로 면역계와 신경내분비계를 포함한 중추신경계를 통하여 인체에 영향을 미친다. Cytokine은 스트레스에 대한 면역계의 반응을 총괄하며, 중추신경계와의 상호작용에 중요한 매개체로서 작용한다. 특히 IL1β는 스트레스에 의하여 발생되는 우울증과 같은 행동상의 변화와 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 45명의 건강한 의과대학생을 대상으로 시험 스트레스에 의한 스트레스 지각도 및 IL1β의 변화를 조사하고, IL1β유전자 TaqI 다형성과 관련을 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법: 시험당일과 시험 2주 후에 채혈을 하였으며, IL1β를 측정하기 위하여 말초혈액 단핵구를 37℃, 5% CO₂에서 3일간 배양하였다. DNA의 분리에는 Ficoll-Paque 방법을 이용하였으며, 다형성 부위를 PCR을 통하여 증폭하였다. TaqI 다형성의 대립유전자형을 구분하기 위하여, 증폭된 DNA를 TaqI으로 처리한 후 15% polyacrylamide gel에 전기영동 하였다. 결 과: 시험당일의 스트레스척도와 IL1β값이 시험 2주 후에 비하여 유의하게 높았으며, 스트레스 척도의 차이 값과 IL1β의 변화 값 사이에 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 대립유전자 A2의 빈도가 매우 낮아 스트레스척도 및 IL1β값에 대한 유전적 관련은 통계적인 의의를 구하지 못하였다. 결 론: 이상의 결과는 시험스트레스가 말초혈액 단핵구의 IL1β 생성을 증가시키며, 스트레스의 자각정도와 IL1β의 변화 값 사이에 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 보여준다. 뿐만 아니라 이는 심리적 스트레스에 의하여 유발될 수 있는 우울증의 발생기전의 이해에 중요한 단서를 제시해준다고 하겠다. Objectives: There is now some evidence that, in humans, psychological stress may affect immune and neuroendocrine system. In stress response, cytokines are known to orchestrate the cellular interaction of immune system and act as a major messenger in a communication with CNS. Specifically, IL1β has been reported to be colsely related with stress induced behavior change, such as depression. Accordingly, we assessed cytokine production by peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) before and after an academic examination in 45 healthy medical students. Furthermore the possibility that IL1β TaqI polymorphism may be associated with stress response of IL1β production was investigated. Methods: Blood samples were collected on the day of examination and at the second week after examination. For cytokine assay seperated PBMC were incubated for 3 days at 37℃, 5% CO₂. DNA was prepared by Ficoll-paque method and polymorphic region was amplified by PCR. After TaqI restriction, products were seperated by 15% polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Results: IL1β production and stress score were significantly higher on the examination day. The change of stress score was significantly correlated with the change of IL1β production. However. the frequency of allele A2 was too low that the significance of genetic association could not be properly estimated. Conclusion: This study reports that psychological stress is accompanied by an increased production of IL1β with significant correlation.

        A high-sensitivity cfDNA capture enables to detect the BRAF V600E mutation in papillary thyroid carcinoma

        Although many efforts have been made to investigate a promising biomarker for the diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC), the currently available biomarkers lack the sensitivity to accurately characterize PTC. Here, we established a high-sensitivityt cell-free DNA (cfDNA) detection system using polydopamine-silica (PDA/SiO2) hybrids to enable clinically reliable analysis of PTC. The PDA/SiO2-coated beads improved the detection of DNA by 1.76-fold (p=0.031) compared to the conventional silica-based cfDNA capture system. The PDA-SiO2-coated beads were then applied for the detection of cfDNA from serum samples obtained from 37 PTC patients, and the BRAFV600E mutation status in captured DNA was analyzed using both quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and digital droplet PCR (ddPCR). The BRAFV600E mutation status analyzed using both assays demonstrated a strong correlation with the multifocality of PTC, exhibiting area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) of >0.964 (p<0.001). In contrast, none of the serum antigens or antibodies related to PTC or thyroid functions exhibited clinically significant prediction for detecting PTC patients with multifocal tumors. These findings suggest that cfDNA capture using PDA/SiO2-coated beads is a promising approach for analyzing the BRAF mutation, which can serve as an excellent diagnostic biomarker for PTC.

        선거 기간 때마다 유권자들은 어떤 후보자에게 투표권을 행사해야 올바른 선택을 하게 될지 고민하게 되며, 후보자의 선거캠프에서는 후보자에 대한 유권자의 평판에 관심을 가지게 된다. 이러한 고민을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 TF-IDF 기법과 양방향 LSTM 기계학습모델을 활용해 특정 정치인의 분야별 행보와 여론에 대해 시계열 파악이 가능한 프로파일 보고서를 생성한다. 이를 통해 유권자는 후보자의 정치 철학과 경륜에 대한 이해가 쉬워져 올바른 투표권을 행사할 수 있으며 선거 캠프에서는 데이터 기반 평판에 대한 올바른 선거전략을 수립할 수 있게 된다.
