만성(慢性) 신부전(腎不全)에 대한 침향(沈香)의 임상적용(臨床適用) 보고(報告)

In Oriental Medical theory, origin of kidney's weakness or atrophy is shen qi(腎氣) and function of san jiao(三焦) deteriorate, it result in a passage of evacuation is blocked. - In Oriental Medicine, Shen(腎) take charge of storing and evacuating function, by taking qi(氣) of the five viscera and the six bowels. - The cause of reducing of shen qi and san jiao's evacuative function is xu han(Emptiness and Coldness) of the five viscera and the six bowels' activity. So we do not treat only kidney, but we also must focus the five viscera and the six bowels' organic function and ying wei's function. A Renal Failure is similar in symptom to Kwan-kyuk(關格), oliguria or anuria, edema, Hu-son(虛損), Sin-pung(腎風) and Yuk-kuk(六極) in chenxiang(沈香). We grasp symptom of 7 cases of chronic renal failure, and diagnose its pathology based on Sa-jin(四診), and prescribed herbal medicines. And in the point of the chenxiang, we separate two group, Ater one is taken herbal medicine with chenxiang and the other is only taken herbal medicine with no using chenxiang, we compared the rate of treating with only herbal and herbal compounded chenxiang. We repeat medical examination for continuation of effective result, report clinical progress and result which based on this examination.

간, 신장수치 이상 환자에 부자(附子) 배합 처방 투여가 미치는 영향

Objectives : Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix(fuzi, 附子) and its class herbs(chaunwu, caowu etc.) are necessary for some clinical conditions, such as cold pain, chilling etc,. But, they has some poison component. And, they have been known to cause liver and kidney injury, and dangerous in the patients who has abnormal range of LFT and RFT. This study shows the consequences for aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), blood urea nitrate(BUN), and Creatinine were analyzed using samples from patients who took the decoction containing fuzi. Methods : Blood samples for Experiment Group(E) were collected from 63 patients, who took the decoction containing fuzi, admitted into the 6th internal medicine department of Dong Eui Oriental Medical Hospital between from January 2007 to March 2011. In compared to those of experiment group, blood samples as Control Group(C) were collected from 64 patients, who took the decoction not containing fuzi, admitted into the same hospital from January 2009 to April 2011. Results and Conclusions : 1. AST No changed : E 4.17%, C 2.63%, Increased : E 12.5%, C 28.95%, Decreased : E 80.33%, C 68.42% 2. ALT No changed : E2.94%, C5.13%, Increased : E 8.82%, C 20.51%, Decreased : E 88.24%, C 74.36% 3. BUN No changed : E 0%, CG 7.14%, Increased : E 32.25%, CG 14.29% Decreased : EG 67.65%, CG 78.57% 4. Creatinine No changed : EG 5.00%, CG 0%, Increased : EG 35.00%, CG 54.55% Decreased : EG 60.00%, CG 45.45% 5. The results suggest that the decoction containing fuzi isn't harmful AST, ALT, BUN, Cr of the patients who has high range of them.

청폐사간탕(淸肺潟肝湯)이 MCAO에 의한 흰쥐의 뇌허혈 손상에 미치는 영향

This study aimed to validate neuroprotective effect of Chungpaesagan-tang on the early stage of cerebral ischemic damage. Cerebral ischemic damage was induced by the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) for 2 hours in the Sprague-Dawley rats. Water extract of Chungpaesagan-tang(8.7g/kg) was administered orally twice at 1 and 4 hours after the MCAO. Neurological score was tested at 3 and 24 hours after the MCAO and Chungpaesagan-tang administration. At 24 hours after the MCAO, infarct volume and edema ratio was evaluated with the TTC staining. Apoptotic cell death in cerebral cortex and caudate putamen was observed with cresyl violet staining and TUNEL labeling. Bax expression in the MCAO rat brain was stained with immunohistochemistry. Chungpaesagan-tang improved neurological and behavioral impairment of the MCAO rats and reduced infarct area, infarct volume and brain edema formation. Chungpaesagan-tang attenuated cell death percentage in cortex penumbra and reduced TUNEL positive cells in cortex penumbra and in caudate putamen of the MCAO rats. Chungpaesagan-tang reduced Bax positive neurons in caudate putamen and reduced c-Fos positive neurons in cortex penumbra of the MCAO rats. Chungpaesagan-tang intensified neuronal HSP72 expression in cortex penumbra of the MCAO rats. In results, Chunpaesagan-tang reduces infarct volume and edema formation through anti-apoptotic effect. This result suggests that Chunapaesagan-tang has an adequate neuroprotective effect on the early stage of cerebral ischemic damage.

부자(附子) 및 천오(川烏)를 함유한 처방(處方)이 간기능(肝機能)에 미치는 영향(影響)(II)

Objectives: Boo-ja and Cheon-o are not commonly prescribed, but are necessary for some clinical conditions, dispite the fact that some negative effects have been known to occur with these medicines. Hence, consequences for aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT) due to herbal medicines, including boo-ja and cheon-o are here reported. Methods: From January 2005 to July 2005, iresults were analyzed for 40 inpatients belonging to the sixth internal medicine department of Dongeui Oriental Medical Hospital who took herbal medicine, including boo-ja and cheon-o, over 20 days. The study is about the comparison and the investigation of LFT, and all results were taken upon their hospitalization and upon their departure. The standard of liver injury was used as a standard for their examinations. Results : 1. No Change in normal limit . 34 of the 40 2. Increased AST. ALT from when they were hospitalized : 2 of 40 Normalized AST, ALT from when they were hospitalized with results higher than normal : 6 of 40 3. These results show no side-effects, therefore suggest that these herbal medicines, including boo-ja and cheon-o. do not cause adverse side-effectsfor patients of this kind if administered as was done in this study.

This study shows the consequences for aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) due to herbal medicines, including Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix (附子) and Aconiti Tuber (川烏). Methods: From 1st June 2007 to 10th May 2009, the results were analyzed for 64 patients belonging to the OO Oriental Medical Hospital who took herbal medicine, including Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix (附子) and Aconiti Tuber (川烏), more than 20 days. This is the study about the comparison and the investigation of AST, ALT. And the results were taken upon their hospitalization and to their departure. The Criteria of Diagnosis in Liver Injury of CIOMS was used as a standard for their examinations. Results: AST, ALT (total 64). The number of patients who were within normal reference value: 49. The number of patients who exceed the normal reference value after dosage, without satisfying the Criteria of Diagnosis in Liver Injury: 5. The number of patients who were recovered in normal reference value after dosage: 9. The number of patients who satisfying the Criteria of Diagnosis in Liver Injury after dosage: 1. Conclusions: This results suggest that these herbal medicines, including Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix (附子) and Aconiti Tuber (川烏), didn`t cause adverse side-effects on AST, ALT of the patients who are taking them.

ALT from when they were hospitalized with results higher than normal : 6 of 36 These results show no side-effects, therefore suggest that these herbal medicines, including boo-ja and cheon-o, do not cause adverse side-effects for patients of this kind if administered as was done in this study.
