Manufacturing having formed spinal structure of the nation's industry is on the verge of collapse due to various kinds of reasons. We should seek and realize another sustainable engines of growth but can hardly find them except manufacturing as for now. It can be said, accordingly, that we are well advised to find the path leading to our ultimate goal just in the systems engineering approach, which can differentiate us from the neighbouring hunted and hunting countries with their inherent competitiveness. In this paper, the desirable way needed is reviewed with the direction for us to take being suggested.
직선 평면 선로상 차륜-윤축셋에 대한 기존운동방정식의 수정

This paper concerns dynamics of a wheel-axle set on a tangent track which was already published in a book titled "Dynamics of Railway Vehicle Systems" authored by Garg and Dukkipati [1], pointing out several missing terms and erroneous parts in the derived expressions on the conventional governing equations of motion. It is indicated that the x-direction components of normal forces at left and right wheel-rail contact points in the equilibrium axis were missed. Another point is that in deriving the creepages the disturbed velocity components in both x and y directions in the equilibrium axis should not be disregarded in the first term of the numerators. When considering the creepage in the y direction in the body coordinate system, the second term of lateral velocity at the contact point also cannot be neglected. Besides, the hyper-assumptions in the final expressions of vertical components of normal forces at left and right wheel-rail contact points have been recovered in reaching the final stage of analytical model development. Finally it is noteworthy that the process of applying creep theory is deemed to contain a little bit inconsistencies and ambiguities to be clear.

Mutual financial companies operate integrated terminal system that integrates a terminal interface with a Single Sign On. Because it has the advantage of being able to use all systems as single authentication. When an organization systems, such as integrated terminal system, there are diverse interests depending on the perspective of transition. In general, understanding the switching intention of the users in an important factor in the informatization business, considering that the information system switching is dominated by the planner or decision maker. In this study, I design a research model with PPM Model and Technology Acceptance Model, and analyzed the factors affecting the adoption of the new system by integrated terminal users. In the future, I hoped that this study will be a guideline for inducing active participants to reflect the acceptance intention of real users of information systems.

As the preservation law of soil environment has reinforced, several soil remediation projects have been performing for railroad sites. One of the main sources of soil contamination is the leakage of diesel from locomotives or underground storage tank. Also, the lubricant used to maintain turnouts causes railroad soil contamination. The purpose of this study was to develop the analysis and the remediation method for lubricant-contaminated soil. The lubricant in the contaminated soil was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) and GC (Gas Chromatography), respectively. The organic pollutants were removed from the soil using microorganisms degrading lubricant. Hereafter it will be necessary to apply this bioremediation method in the railroad field.

A first evaluation of the possibilities of high speed trains in conventional railway in Korea have been investigated. The radius of curvature was considered the major problem with high-speed trains in Korea. If KNR(Korea National railway) likes to increase the speed, is then whether KNR shall construct straigthen the track or develop a train that can reduce travel time in curves. The research concerns structural design of train car-body is to reduce heavy stress concentration. Using 3D solid modeling, Finite Element analysis and shape optimization combined with powerful postprocessing, graphical display and animation to achieve complete and accurate design and performance will be carried out further project. Main purpose of this project is to provide korean tilting train car body"s conceptional design. Based on first year research results, the design of car-body will be performed by train manufacture.

Tilting system allow the train to pass curve at higher speed without affecting passenger comfort. As the tilting trains offer the optimum means of providing faster and more comfortable rail service with minimum of environmental disturbance and capital investment, more than 14 countries have now adopted or are about to adopt tilting train technology. The Korean National Railroad is also planing to apply faster tilting train to the areas where the High speed rail service are not provided. This paper shows the concept design of Bogie and Tilting system for 180 ㎞/h Express tilting train for Korean conventional line, which was done as a part of the KNR"s R&D project.

In order to manufacture high quality goods, the engineers who will design them has to have board technical experience as well as profound engineering knowledge. The engineers also be able to design and manufacture well development goods base on new advanced technology. Design process can be defined as transforming activity raw material into finished producted for human needs. The wealth of nation depend on its ability to retrieve natural resources and manufacture goods. Its ability, creation of goods, is most fundamental component of economic wealth of rich country. The rich countries have combine their own design knowledge with computer technology and create new effective design process. In this paper, one of the useful and practice design process created for railway industry is introduced. Base on the concept of this design process, the automatic wheelchair lifter design for railway vehicle is performed.

MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure)와 MTBSF(Mean Time Between Service Failure) are two representative quantitative reliability requirements for railway systems. There are the case that both of the two requirements are presented and the case that only one of them is presented in the specification of railway systems. we deal with the redundancy allocation problem to meet the two reliability requirements. The redundancy increases MTBSF while it decreases MTBF. Parallel redundancy and the exponential lifetime distribution of components are considered for the series systems. Mathematical model and example are presented for the redundancy optimization problem of minimizing the cost subjecting to MTBF and MTBSF requirements.
