        간손상 유발실험동물에서 Toluene의 피부독성

        To evaluate the cutaneous injury in liver damaged rats by toluene application to the skin, toluene(35mg/㎤) was sequentially applied for 5 days to the dorsal skin of liver damaged rats with CCl4 (6 times ever other day:0.1ml/100 g body weight-50% CCl4in olive oil). The cutaneous ultrastructural changes were unexoectably not observed in liver from CCl4-treated rats although necrotic liver damage appeared under light microscope. In these animals by the application of toluene to rat skin the cutaneous xanthine oxidase activity was significantly increased(p<0.05), but cytochrome P450 content was not different from that of the control or only CCl4-treated rats. On the other hand, the cutaneous superoxide dismutase and catalase activities in liver damaged animals were significantly respectively(p<0.05, p<0.001), decreased by toluene application to the skin compared with control and especially the former enzyme activity was significantty decreased(p<0.01), compared with that of liver damaged rate rat but glutathione peroxidase, glutathione-S-transferase activities were not significantly different from those of the control or liver damaged rats. Futhermore, the reduced gluathione content of skin was also significantly decreased by toluene application to the liver damaged animals. In conclusion, the great deposits of cerrous peroxide and ultramorphological changes in skin tissue of liver damaged animals by toluene application may be responsible for the oxygen free radical.

        흰쥐에 있어서 피부조직의 Oxygen Free Radical 대사계에 미치는 Toluene의 영향

        To evaluate the skin toxicity of topical toluene application, toluene (35 mg/㎠) was sequentially applied to the portion rat skin for five days. The topical toluene application resulted in increased xanthine oxidase activity and CYP content, and significantly decreased superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities at five days in rat skin. Especially catalase activity was remarkably decreased in toluene-applied rat skin. And benzylalcohol dehydrogenase activity showed also a significant decrease in toluene-applied skin. On the other hand, histopathological ultrastructural examination revealed disrupted epidermal basement membrane, rared intercellular adhensions and degenerated keratin layer due to topical toluene application. Increased deposit of cerrous perhydroxide resulted from reaction with H₂O₂ was abserved in toluene-treated animals. These results indicate that oxygen free radical may be responsible for ultrastructural changes in skin tissue by toluene application to rat skin.

        Resulting from the remarkable growth in economy and science technology, changes in living circumstances for people in the modern society are obvious. Their attitudes toward and values of life are different from the past. It has become the society where people lay emphasis on QOL(quality of life). Concreteness that implies the pursuit of both physical and psychological health demands nature-friendly methods an means. Therefore interest in healthy and beautiful skin becomes specified more and presents as desire for professional skin care. Unlike the past, skin care is gradually focusing on the health of the human body of which concept is more fundamental and comprehensive, beyond the beauty of skin. From this point of view, the alternative therapy, a health-improving method through treatment in behalf of what we call the whole man and the strengthening of the natural healing power, is applied to the field of skin care. In the other words, as an effective practice in helping to maintain the physiological functions and homeostasis of the human body, the alternative therapy is placed as a fundamental method to realize the ultimate goal of skin care. The alternative therapy emphasizing balance and harmony is suggested for the reason that it should be utilized in skin care in the point that it raises immunity through helping the human body to use its own natural healing power. In addition, from this viewpoint, the researcher wishes that the wave therapy which is introduced in this study will carry significance. Since it needs theoretical consideration from the perspective of professional and pure-scientific area, the researcher is careful about dealing with it, but with the same reason determining that it is the area where deeper interest and research are required, and in light of this, the researcher is presenting principles at the basic and theoretical level and introducing a field of skin care where the therapy is applied. It could be said to be the core of the wave therapy that has positive effects on the human body and skin by giving waves directly to skin through manipulation and machines used in the fields of massage, meridian massage, machinery management, and so on. In the main discourse in this study, the researcher takes a look at the concept, area, and the principle of curing of the wave therapy, and exactly what kind of skin care practices to which the wave therapy is applied we have. In the point that while the alternative therapy using waves is discussed largely in the world of medical science, generally it has not been a general topic yet in the field of skin care, the researcher expects that one can take the first step toward understanding the wave therapy and performing skin care practices using it by taking advantage of this study.

        급성 간손상의 실험동물 피부조직에 있어서 Oxygen Free Radical의 대사효소 활성 변동

        실험동물에 있어서 CCl₄에 의한 급성 간손상시 피부조직의 oxygen free radical 대사효소 활성 변동을 검토하기 위해 흰쥐에 CCl₄와 olive oil의 동량 혼합액을 체중 100g당 0.1ml씩 복강으로 투여하여 처치하였다. CCl₄투여로 인한 혈청 alanine aminotransferase 및 xanthine oxidase (XO) 활성은 현저히 증가되었으며 체중당 간무게(%) 및 간조직의 malondialdehyde 함량 역시 유의하게 증가되었다. 그리고 병리조직 검사에서도 CCl₄투여군에서 간조직의 괴사성 병변이 관찰되었다. 따라서 CCl₄를 투여한 실험동물이 급성 간손상 모델로 확인되었다. 이와 같은 간손상 실험동물의 피부조직 중 oxygen free radical의 생성효소인 XO 활성은 대조군과 별다른 차이를 볼 수 없었으나 oxgen free radical의 scavenging 효소인 superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase 및 catalase 활성은 대조군에 비하여 유의하게 감소되었다. 또한 세포화학적 검사에서 cerrous perhydroxide 과립이 간손상 실험동물의 피부조직에서 많이 나타났다. 이상 실험결과는 CCl₄에 의한 급성 간손상 유도 실험동물의 피부조직에 H₂O₂의 축적이 나타나는 현상을 시사해주고 있다. To evaluate an effect of liver damage on the dermal oxygen free radical metabolizing enzyme activities, the CCl₄(0.1ml/100g body wt., 50% CCl₄in olive oil) was intraperitoneally given to the rats every other day for 2 weeks. Based on the histopathological findings, liver weight (%), serum alanine aminotransferase, xanthine oxidase activities and hepatic lipid peroxide contents, the animals were induced severe liver damage. In the present liver damaged animal, all the activities of dermal scavenging enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase were significantly decreased compared with contral. And under the cytochemical electron microscopy the more coarse granules of cerrous perhydroxide were found compared with the control. In conclusion, the CCl₄-induced liver danage may influence upon the activities of some dermal oxygen free radical scavenging enzymes.

        급성 간손상의 실험동물 피부조직에 있어서 Oxygen Free Radical의 대사효소 활성 변동

      • 피부의 탄력, 유분, 수분지수와 생활습관과의 상관관계에 관한 연구

        Our living habit is an important factor on which skin and health depend and regular meals, physical exercise, and healthful food serve as positive factors for skin as well as for physical health while living habits which can do harm to health, improper skin care, and contamination can have harmful influence on our health and skin. As beauty and health of skin is closely correlated to maintenance of proper sebum and moisture in a horny layer and elasticity, this study analyzed 46 students from D University in K city by using a skin measuring tool as a noninvasive method for moisture, elasticity, and sebum in cheeks, the chin, and the forehead, respectively, to determine correlation between living habits and sebum, moisture, and elasticity; as a result, living habit and use of cosmetics were found to have great effects on moisture and sebum of the skin. A sufficient amount of sound sleep, proper relief of stress through a dilettante life, proper basic care after face washing, and proper habit of skin care including mask and massage had positive effects on the skin while constipation, physical and mental stress caused by heavy tasks, and irregular meals had bad influence on sebum and moisture of the skin. The results of this study demonstrate that it is essential to have steady skin care using basic cosmetics, regular sleep and exercise, and good living and eating habits and correct improper skin health care and behaviors related to skin health in order to enjoy beautiful and healthy skin.

        랫트의 Bromobenzene의 급성 투여가 간조직 중 Na+ / K+ - ATPase 활성에 미치는 영향 -

        Bromobenzene 투여에 의한 간조직중 ATPase 활성을 관찰할 목적으로 흰쥐에 bromobenzene을 체중 kg당 400 mg을 복강으로 투여한 다음 4시간 후에 처치하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. Bromobenzene 투여로 인한 체중당 간무게는 유의하게 증가되었으나 간조직중 단백질 함량은 감소되었다. 혈청중 alanine aminotransferase 활성은 대조군과 별다른 차이를 볼수 없었다. 따라서 본 실험조건에서 Bromobenzene 처치 실험동물에서 간조직은 가역적상해로 생각되며 이러한 실험동물모델에 $Na^+/K^+$-ATPase 활성은 유의하게 (p<0.05)증가되었으며 이때 V$_{max}$ 치역시 대조군에 비하여 증가 되었다. 이때 간조직중 glutathione 함량은 감소되었으며 glutathione S-transferase 활성 및 cytochrome P-450 함량치는 증가되는 경향을 보였다.

      • 스톤테라피에 관한 연구

        With long-term economic slump, political and social unrest, environmental problems, aging, and the increase in the obese population, interest in environment and health is on the continuous increase. Attention is being focused on a relevant industry as a future consumption trend. To relieve daily fatigue and stress, it is now inevitable to pursue lifestyle and consumption based on higher well-being. With the universalized perception that a mentally and physically healthy life is essential, the needs to pursue a better life include relieving fatigue and stress effectively for mental peace and consuming organically-farmed products and conducting aerobic exercise for physical health. Practices of life based on well-being to maintain mental and physical health are related to nature- and environment-friendly life and consumption, not excepting skin care. As for skin care, such a lifestyle based on well-being is forcing many types of skin care. That is, there is a demand for nature- and environment-friendly therapies and development to meet the demand. A variety of therapies to use natural materials to relieve physical fatigue and stress are being developed and demanded by consumers. Stone therapy can be one of the results of such consumers' needs and the temporal trend. Stone therapy is one of the natural therapies using the principle of ‘homeostassis’ of the human body. Here, homeostassis refers to a kind of exercise for the inside of the human body to maintain relatively uniform environment against external stimuli. It is exemplified by the physical reaction of maintaining the temperature of the body at a fixed level by discharging sweat rapidly out of the body through numerous sweat pores when abnormal conditions of the human body raise the temperature. The principle of stone therapy can also be found in our ancestors' folk remedies of relieving pain by rubbing the stomach of a child suffering from stomachache. From more scientific perspective, energy should generally move from a high to low position for identical temperature and the energy moving due to differences in temperature is called 'heat.' When a body is lowered into a cold tub, 'heat' energy possessed by the water in the tub, which is higher than that of the body, moves to the body, consequently lowering the temperature of the human body. In the opposite case, the body temperature may well rise. Stone therapy, which smooths the rhythm of the body by using stone containing natural energy of water, soil, and fire, balances the human body, removes toxins from the body to clean it, and is effectively used to perform skin care as well as to prevent and treat a disease. This study aims at investigating a scientific ground of stone therapy which serves to resolve body imbalance caused by stress and fatigue necessary for mental and physical health and to maintain health and beauty using a natural material, or stone containing natural energy, and at providing a clinical and theoretical basis for using it in skin care.

      • 매뉴얼마사지와 감압기기를 이용한 복부관리

        Moderners' life style has produced environment enough to cause abdominal obesity due to exercise lacking. So desirable thing is to make a practice plan fit it with life pattern. This study would come up with information based on more systematic and rational treatment method in abdominal obesity. To improve abdominal obesity as the research goal, the paper presented two soft treatments not accompanying high pressure or pain. That it, it tried to compare the effects of abdominal massage by Body Master known as effective in cellulite obesity, and French Doctor, Joe Daniac's plat termi effective for internal obesity. The subjects' age ranged from 20 to 23, of them, 6 women currently or likely to be obese in their abdomen were sampled out. Each 3 of them were subjected to the massage of abdominal massage and Body Master. The research period was total 8 times every three times per week from may 29 to Jun. 16, 2006. Using a weighing machine and a tape measure, weight and the upper parts of 5cm, 10cm, 5cm, 10cm based on the navel were measured. The research results using manually operated massage machine and decompression machine are as follows. It was found that the reduction magnitude of general abdominal circumferential value was higher in the test group by decompression machine than by manual massage. Also it was found that size average was slowly reducing in manual massage group, while that was resistantly reducing in the decompression machine. But there was no special effect by parts in both massage experimental group and decompression machine group. It was found that physical fat ratio was reduced in a great magnitude in both massage experimental group and decompression machine group. Hereby it is thought to be effective in reducing physical fat ratio in both experimental groups of manual massage and decompression massage, and more effective to abdominal obesity in decompression machine management than manual massage.

        단백식이 조건을 달리하여 성장시킨 흰쥐에 Bromobenzene 투여가 간손상에 미치는 영향

        식이성 단백질이 bromobenzene에 의한 간손상에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 검토코저 흰쥐를 저(LP : casein 7%) 및 고(HP : casein 20%)단백식이로 1개월간 성장시킨 뒤 bromobenzene을 투여한 다음, 간무게, 혈청 alanineaminotransferase (ALT) 활성을 측정하여 간손상 정도를 두 군간에 비교하였다. 아울러 이에 대한 기전을 구명하는 일환으로 간조직 중 aniline hydroxylase (AH) 활성과 glutathione (CSH) 함량 및 이의 포합효소인 glutathione S-transferase (CST) 활성을 측정하였다. Bromobenzene 투여로 인한 대조군에 대한 간중량 및 혈청 ALT 활성 증가율은 LP군이 HP군 보다 높았다. 이때 간 AH 활성 증가율은 HP군 보다 LP군이 높았으나, 간 CSH 및 CST 활성은 LP군 보다 HP군이 높게 나타났다. 이상 실험결과를 종합하여 볼 때 bromobenzene에 의한 간독성을 식이 중 단백질 함량 감소에 영향을 받으며, 이는 LP군이 HP군 보다 bromobenzene 투여로 인한 간 AH 활성은 증가되나 bromobenzene 해독에 관여하는 간 glutathione 함량과 CSH 활성의 감소에 기인되기 때문인 것으로 생각된다. To evaluate an effect of dietary protein on the liver damage, the bromobenzene was intraperitoneally injected to the rats fed a low or high protein diet and then the liver weight per body weight and serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activities were determined to demonstrate the differences in liver damage between the groups fed low or high protein diet. Hepatic aniline hydroxylase (AH), glutathione (CSH) content and glutathione S-transferase (CST) activity were also determined to clarify causes of liver damage between the two groups. Increases of liver weight per body weight and serum ALT activities were higher in bromobenzene treated rats fed low protein diet than those fed high protein diet. The increasing rate of hepatic AH activity was higher in bromobenzene-treated rats fed low protein diet than that in those fed high protein diet. Furthermore, hepatic glutathione contents and CST activities in bromobenzene-treated rats were higher in rats fed high protein diet than those fed low protein diet. In case of control group, the hepatic glutathione content and CST activity were also higher in rats fed high protein diet than those fed low protein diet.
