Surgeon Custom-Made Iliac Branch Device to Salvage Hypogastric Artery during Endovascular Aneurysm Repair

Endovascular salvage of the hypogastric artery using iliac branch device (IBD) duringendovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR), offers less invasive alternative solution tosurgery to prevent pelvic ischemia. We have performed the first Korean surgeon custommadeIBD for this purpose to overcome the limitation of unavailability of the devices inKorea. Four patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm with bilateral common iliac arteryaneurysm (CIAA) were treated using custom-made IBDs from October 2013 to December2013. IBD was created in back table before EVAR operation using TFLE Zenith iliac limbstent graft (Cook Inc.). Three V12 (Atrium, Inc.) one Viabahn (Gore, Inc.) were used forbridging between IBD and target hypogastric artery. With this modification of IBDprocedure, exteriorize the guide wire without snare device is possible which offers anotherbenefit in terms of reducing medical costs comparing to commercial IBD. All operationswere successful without any device related complications or postoperative endoleaks. During the mean follow up of 3 months, all IBD were patent without clinicalcomplications. Surgeon custom made IBD is feasible and useful to preserve pelvic perfusionespecially in the situation of limited commercial IBD availability in many countries. Longtermfollow-up is needed to evaluate stent graft patency and IBD-related complications.

유라시아 문화지형도 내 한민족예술의 다문화적 접변 양상 고찰: ‘홍범도 장군’ 콘텐츠의 OSMU 방식을 중심으로

This study seeks to examine the multicultural transformation of General Hong Beom-do contents within the paradigm of the Eurasian cultural topography that encompasses Russia and Central Asia. In addition, the study traces the process of “old stories” related to Hong Beom-do being transformed into "new stories" through a variety of OSMU (One source multi-Use) methods based on storytelling techniques. The contents of "General Hong Beom-do" have been transformed in various ways such as through Tae Jang-chun's play <Hong Beom-do>, which is based on the 「Hong Bum-do’s Journal」 that was written through Hong Beom-do’s personal oral statement, Kim Se-il’s novel <Hong Beom-do>, which was promoted by a fellow soldier Lee In-seop who wanted to honor him after Hong Beom-do’s death, and Moon Geum-dong’s novel <Father and Hong, beom-do>, which focuses on the humane aspects Hong Beom-do and his father based on childhood memories. Based on these materials, the study examines contents such as documentary literature and plays related to General Hong Beom-do that was promoted in the world of Russian Korean artists, as well as the trends in the world of cultural arts, which have extensively promoted General Hong Beom-do in Korea during recent times. Furthermore, in accordance with today's cultural phenomenon, where stories have become a product of huge profits, the study proposes the possibility of the industry that reprocesses and popularizes General Hong Beom-do's story into various cultural contents, as well as the possibility of a tourism product through the discovery of the "Hong Beom-do route” that extends to Korea, Russia, and Central Asia based on the humanistic assets that inherit his spirit. 본고에서는 러시아와 중앙아시아를 아우르는 유라시아 문화지형도의 패러다임 속에서 홍범도 장군 콘텐츠의 다문화적 변용에 관해 고찰하고 있다. 더불어 홍범도에 관한 ‘옛 이야기’가 스토리텔링의 다양한 OSMU 방식을 통해 ‘새 이야기’로 변모되어 가는 과정을 추적한다. ‘홍범도 장군’에 대한 콘텐츠는 홍범도 자신이 구술한 것을 받아 쓴 「홍범도 일지」를 근간으로 한 태장춘의 희곡 <홍범도>, 홍범도 사후에 그를 기리고자 했던 전우 이인섭의 노력으로 추진되었던 김세일의 소설 <홍범도>, 어린 시절 기억을 바탕으로 자신의 아버지와 홍범도의 인간미에 주목한 문금동의 소설 <아부지와 홍범도> 등으로 다양하게 변형되어왔다. 이러한 자료에 입각해 본고에서는 고려인 예술계에서 추진했던 홍범도 장군에 대한 기록문학과 연극 등의 콘텐츠와 아울러 최근 국내에서 홍범도 장군을 대대적으로 내세운 문화예술계의 동향에 대해 살펴보았다. 나아가 이야기 자체가 막대한 이윤을 창출하는 상품이 된 오늘날의 문화현상에 맞추어 홍범도 장군의 스토리를 다양한 문화콘텐츠로 재가공하고 대중화하는 산업의 가능성과 함께, 그의 정신을 계승하는 인문 자산을 통해 한국과 러시아·중앙아시아로 이어지는 ‘홍범도 루트’ 발굴을 통한 관광 상품으로의 가능성 역시 제시하고 있다.

고려인 예술가의 정체성과 확장성에 대한 소고 ― 아나톨리 김의 ‘민족’ 담론과 ‘인류’ 담론을 중심으로

본고에서는 러시아어로 글을 쓰는 고려인 3세 작가 아나톨리 김의 문학을 중심으로 21세기 현 시점에서 고려인문학 정체성의 현주소를 돌아보고, 그 확장성을 고찰하려고 시도했다. 그리고 아나톨리 김이 왜 편협한 민족주의 담론에머무르지 않고, 인류의 전일(全一)과 직결되는 세계주의 담론을 문학의 발판으로 삼게 되었는지, 그의 개인적 체험과 함께 그의 세계관을 형성시켰던 철학과 사상에 대해서도 조명해 보았다. 아나톨리 김의 ‘세계주의’와 ‘민족의식’의 역학관계를 그의 문학세계의 원심력과 구심력으로 규정하며, 그의 작품에 그 철학적개념이 실질적으로 등장하는 여러 동·서양 사상가들 가운데 콘스탄찐 찌올콥스키와 테야르 드 샤르댕에 주목했다. 아나톨리 김이 독서했던 여러 철학자들 가운데 이들을 선별했던 것은 그가 타국 땅에서 한민족의 이념에서 확장된 인류의식을 성장시키는 과정에서 자연스럽게 융화되었던 대표적인 사상가가 찌올콥스키와 샤르댕이기 때문이다. 이제 우리가 ‘고려인문학’ 연구에서 새로운 초석으로 삼아야 하는 것은 러시아어로 글을 쓰는 고려인 3세, 4세, 5세 작가들이 자신들의 한민족 정체성을 어떤 방식으로 러시아 및 중앙아시아문학, 더 나아가 세계문학의 아우라속에서 융합시키는지 객관적으로 추적하는 작업이다. 한국인의 핏줄을 지닌 그들이 디아스포라 후예로서 자신이 받았던 사적·공적 교육이나 삶의 체험, 그리고 어쩔 수없이 이방인으로서 겪을 수밖에 없었던 고난과 그 극복의 과정을 예술로 승화시킨 결과물과 함께 그들의 세계관을 형성시킨 배경과 그 의의를 고찰하여 우리문학의 가능성을 확장시키는 것이다. 디아스포라의 상흔을 안고 이어온 명맥, 이제는 어느새 백 여년이 가까워오는 ‘고려인문학’ 전통과 그 확장성을 고려하지 않는다면, 우리 스스로가 세계의 다양한 문화·예술과 습합되며 새로운 ‘혼종성’으로 창출되어가는 우리 문학의 가능성을 차단해버리는 것이기 때문이다.

문화콘텐츠 상품의 무역경영학적 관점에 관한 연구: 넷플릭스 TV쇼 <오징어 게임> 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 글로벌 시장을 위한 문화콘텐츠 상품의 제작과 유통이 새로운 디지털 무역시대에 무역경영학적으로 어떠한 시사점을 가져다주는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해, 연구의 분석대상으로 2021년 9월 넷플릭스를 통해 전 세계에 방영되어 53일 동안 세계 1위를 기록한 TV 쇼 <오징어 게임>을 선정했다. 디지털 전환시대 속에서 전통적인 무역의 의미가 크게 달라지고 있다. 기존 무역의 주 거래대상이던 유형제품 이외로, 디지털 무역시대에는 문화와 관광, 그리고 데이터, 금융에 이르기까지 무역거래 대상이 완연하게 다양 및 확장되었고, 대면방식과 물리적 거래를 기반으로 했던 국제무역환경도 비대면, 디지털 거래로 전환되고 있다. 특히 넷플릭스라는 글로벌 플랫폼을 통한 디지털 방식의 문화콘텐츠 거래와 성공은 제조업뿐만 아니라 서비스업, 특히 엔터테인먼트 영역에 무역경영에 관한 새로운 관점과 전략적 접근방식을 제시해준다. 이에 본 연구는 넷플릭스의 제작과 유통으로 이뤄진 <오징어 게임> 사례분석을 통해 디지털 무역시대, 문화콘텐츠가 세계시장에서 성공적으로 거래되기 위해 살펴봐야 할 논의들을 무역경영학적인 관점에서 살펴보았다. 특히 본 연구는 글로벌 시장을 하나의 단일 시장으로 보고 효율성에 기반한 접근이 요구되는 ‘글로벌 전략(Globalization)’ 및 현지 시장별 맞춤형 전략이 요구되는 ‘현지화(Localization)’ 접근을 모두 살펴보고, 글로벌 시장 성공의 필요 조건으로서 ‘초국가(Transnational) 전략의 적용가능성도 함께 논의하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 디지털 무역 및 디지털 통상을 연구하는 학자, 정부와 정책입안자를 비롯하여 문화 혹은 엔터테인먼트, 문화트렌드, 글로벌 경영 전략을 연구하는 학자, 문화정책을 수립하는 정책입안자, 문화콘텐츠를 즐기는 일반인, 문화콘텐츠 상품을 취급하는 엔터테인먼트 기업에 문화적·무역경영학적 다양한 통찰력을 줄 수 있다.

Progression of GNE Myopathy Based on the Patient-Reported Outcome

Background and Purpose GNE myopathy is a rare progressive myopathy caused by biallelic mutations in the GNE gene, and frequently accompanied by rimmed vacuoles in muscle pathology. The initial symptom of foot drop or hip-girdle weakness eventually spreads to all limbs over a period of decades. Recent advances in pathophysiologic research have facilitated therapeutic trials aimed at resolving the core biochemical defect. However, there remains unsettled heterogeneity in its natural course, which confounds the analysis of therapeutic outcomes. We performed the first large-scale study of Korean patients with GNE myopathy. Methods We gathered the genetic and clinical profiles of 44 Korean patients with genetically confirmed GNE myopathy. The clinical progression was estimated retrospectively based on a patient-reported questionnaire on the status of the functional joint sets and daily activities. Results The wrist and neck were the last joints to lose antigravity functionality irrespective of whether the weakness started from the ankle or hip. Two-thirds of the patients could walk either independently or with an aid. The order of losing daily activities could be sorted from standing to eating. Patients with limb-girdle phenotype showed an earlier age at onset than those with foot-drop onset. Patients with biallelic kinase domain mutations tended to progress more rapidly than those with epimerase and kinase domain mutations. Conclusions The reported data can guide the clinical management of GNE myopathy, as well as provide perspective to help the development of clinical trials

안드레이 타르코프스키의 영화에 반영된 동서양 신비철학과 전일성(全一性)

안드레이 타르코프스키 세계관의 토대를 일원론의 관점에서 고찰한 본 논문은 기독교적·불교적·이교적·신비적이라고 표현하는, 때로는 양립 불가능한 것으로 인식되는 형용어를 통합하고 있는 그의 사상의 근원적 궤적을 추적하는 작업에서 출발했다. 개별적인 인간 영혼으로부터 지구 차원의 문제에 이르기까지 ‘구원’의 테마와 연관되어 있는 그의 영화에는 기독교적 특성이 깊이 반영되어 있다고 보는 관점이 일반적이었다. 하지만 타르코프스키의 작품을 조금 더 면밀히 들여다보면, 그의 영화에는 전통 신학의 관점에서 기독교 교리와는 배치되는 것으로 인식되는 이교(異敎)적 요소들뿐만 아니라 불교적 세계관 역시 내재되어 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 때문에 일반적으로 양립 불가능한 것으로 평가되기도 하는 다양한 종교 특성이 공존하는 그의 사상의 원천과 세계관에 대한 재조명은 필수적이다. 이는 타르코프스키의 작품을 철학적이라고 규정하면서도 그의 정신세계를 형성시킨 모태가 되는 철학과 사상에 대한 보다 체계적인 연구가 거의 없었다는 점에 연유한다. 그의 작품에 내재된 ‘종교성’에 주목하면서도 관련하여 심도있는 연구가 진행되지 못한 부분이 있었기 때문이다. 따라서 본고에서는 개별적인 작품에 대한 미시적 이해를 포함해 다양한 층위의 타르코프스키의 작품을 동서양 종교와 철학의 프리즘으로 살펴보며, 그 양상이 타르코프스키의 세계관에 미친 영향을 분석하였다. 더불어 동서양 신비철학을 아우르는 전일성(全一性)이라는 거시적 프레임이 타르코프스키의 작품에 습합되어 간 양상을 통찰하며, 그의 영성철학과 영상미학의 조우를 고찰하였다. 일반적으로 이분법적으로 구분되는, 동양과 서양의 종교와 사상을 아우르는 타르코프스키 세계관은 루돌프 슈타이너나 게오르기 구르지예프를 비롯한 여러 신비가와 영적 철학자의 관점과 연결되어 있음을 규명할 수 있었다. 전술했던 바와 같이 슈타이너나 구르지예프, 그리고 우스펜스키와 같은 신비철학자들은 인간의 영적 성장의 가능성을 극대화하는 점에서 공통적이다. 타르코프스키가 서양정신사에 동양의 철학과 수행체계를 도입해 세계인들의 의식 혁명을 주도했던 구르지예프나 우스펜스키의 서적을 탐독했고, 인지학자 혹은 신지학자로 대표되는 루돌프 슈타이너의 사상에도 깊은 관심을 갖고, 자신의 영화에서 노자의 <도덕경>이나 불교의 선(禪)사상을 표출했던 것 역시 그가 동·서양 사상을 통합할 수 있는 절대 경지를 지향했다는 방증이라 할 수 있다. 동서양을 넘나드는, 동시에 동서양 사상과 철학을 하나로 연결하는 근원에 대한 탐색과 그것을 응시하는 관조의 세계는 타르코프스키의 영화에서 재현되는 ‘테오리아 피지카’의 영상화와 연접해 있다. 만물의 조화와 상응관계를 통찰할 수 있는 내면의 눈을 중요시했던 그에게 인간이 자신의 에고에서 벗어나 타인을 사랑하고, 더 나아가 인류의 하나됨을 지향해야 한다는 의식은 자연스러운 확장이었을 것이다. 타르코프스키는 자신의 삶과 예술, 무엇보다 자신의 세계관을 영상으로 가시화하는데 천착했던 영화인이었다. 즉 타르코프스키가 한 예술인으로서 평생에 걸쳐 천착했던 것은 물질과 육체의 세계에서 벗어나는 영혼의 상승 및 존재의 근원인 일자와의 합일, 그 절대세계에 대한 응시였다. 일자와의 합일이야말로 그가 명상에 ... Based on Andrei Tarkovsky’s view of the world, this thesis begins by tracing the root of his thoughts that integrate the terms expressed as Christian, Buddhist, pagan and mystical, and sometimes, as incompatible. From individual human souls to problems at the global level, his films, which are associated with the theme of 'salvation', were generally viewed as films with Christian themes. However, a closer look at Tarkovsky 's work reveals that his films have a Buddhist view as well as pagan elements that are opposite to the Christian doctrine from the standpoint of traditional theology. Therefore, it is essential to reexamine the sources of his thoughts and his view of the world, which have various religious characteristics that are generally regarded as incompatible. Tarkovsky's works were defined as philosophical, but there was almost no research on philosophy and thoughts that his spiritual world was based upon. The religious elements in his films have received attention but in-depth research on his films has not been conducted. This thesis examines Tarkovsky's works at various levels by understanding his individual work microscopically based upon the Eastern and Western religions and philosophy, and analyzes the influence on Tarkovsky's view of the world. In addition, the combination of his spiritual philosophy and his visual aesthetics together with the macroscopic frame that is also known as the allness from the Eastern and Western mystic philosophy in Tarkovsky's films will be reviewed. Tarkovsky’s world view, which includes the oriental and western religions and ideas, was able to identify the connection with various ideas of mystic and spiritual philosophers, including Rudolf Steiner and Georgii Gurdzhiev. The mystic philosophers such as Steiner, Gurdzhiev and Uspensky commonly emphasized the maximization of the potential of human spiritual growth. Tarkovsky explored the books of Gurdzhiev and Uspensky, who led the revolution in the consciousness of the world by introducing the oriental philosophy and performance system to the Western philosophy. He was also very interested in Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy “spiritual science”. The expression of Laozi’s "virtues" or Buddhist philosophy in his films is also a proof that he had made efforts to integrate Eastern philosophy with Western philosophy. Crossing the East and the West, simultaneously exploring the sources that connect Eastern and Western thought and philosophy as one, and the world that gazes at it are connected with the 'theoria physica' imaging which was reproduced in Tarkovsky's film. He emphasized the inner eye that could give insight into the harmony of all things and the correlation. For him, loving other people by letting go of one’s ego and further the consciousness that humanity should aim to become one would have been a natural extension. As we examined, Tarkovsky was a filmmaker who strived to visualize his own life and art, and above all his own world view. In other words, as an artist, Tarkovsky had strived for his lifetime for a soul ascension by escaping from the material and physical world, returning to the One which was the cause of existence, and gazing toward the absolute world. He was interested in meditation and had made great efforts to reach the state of nirvana by returning to the One. He had devoted himself to finding the true soul through the characters in his films. Through these processes, Tarkovsky had come to believe that the gospel truth corresponds to goodness and beauty, and here, his aesthetics meets with his ethics.

Potato late blight caused by the fungus Phytophthora infestans is one of the most important diseases worldwide. Developing potatoeswith resistance to late blight through breeding programs is a key research interest in Korea. ‘Mangang’ was bred for late blight resistancethrough a breeding program at the Highland Agriculture Research Institute of National Institute of Crop Science. The population derived fromthe cross between ‘Atlantic’ as the female parent, which has excellent chipping quality and ‘CIP393371.159’ as the male parent, a late blightresistantclone introduced from International Potato Center (CIP), was selected. In ‘Mangang’, the plant maturity occurs late and the growth habitis of the erect type. The tuber shape is round and eye-depth is medium. The skin color of ‘Mangang’ is light yellow; however, there arepink spots around the eyes of the tuber, and the flesh color is white. Leaf color is green and flower color is light-purple. ‘Mangang’ exhibitsresistance to early blight (Alternaria solani) and leaf roll virus (PLRV). In addition, it has moderate resistance to common scab (Streptomycesscabies). The response to late blight was evaluated in a non-agrochemical treated field for five years between 2012 and 2016; ‘Mangang’exhibited resistance to late blight. The mean AUDPC (Area Under Disease Progress Curve) values of ‘Mangang’ and ‘Atlantic’ were 165.5 and795.8, respectively. Total tuber yield from the non-agrochemical application trial at three regions during the five years was 40.3 ton/ha; thiswas 40.4% higher than that from ‘Atlantic’. The dry matter content of ‘Mangang’ was 21.3%, which was slightly higher than that of ‘Atlantic’. The chip color was 66.5, and the chip processing quality of ‘Mangang’ was at a level similar to that of ‘Atlantic’ (Registration No. 9312).
