        진도견에서 반지세포형 위선암종 증례보고

        A case of gastric adenocarcinoma signet ring cell type was described in a ten-year-old female Jindo doghaving about three months history of vomiting, anorexia and weight los. On radiology, ultrasonography and computedtomography, thickness of the gastric fundus was irregularly increased. On necropsy, the gastric fundus was markedlythickened and gastric rugae were attenuated. The cardia and the mucosa was obliterated by neoplastic proliferation of round to polyhedral cells. The neoplastic cells had abundantvacuolated cytoplasm containing mucin. The neoplasm was infiltrated into the submucosa and muscle layer. Metastaticfocus was not observed.

        Mobile-Based Chatbot to Scaffold Foreign Language Learners' Self-Regulated Learning

        최근 교육용 인공 지능(AI) 기술이 빠르게 발전함에 따라 AI 챗봇의 교육적 활용에 대한 관심도 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 언제 어디서든 사용이 가능한 모바일 기반 AI 챗봇의 사용이 학습자의 자기조절학습을 어떻게 지원할 수 있는지 탐색하기 위해, 영어를 외국어로 배우는 학습자의 자기조절학습을 도와주는 모바일 기반 챗봇을 설계, 개발하고 사용성 평가를 실시하였다. 미국과 한국 대학에 재학 중인 11명의 외국어 학습자들이 본 연구에 참여하였으며, 학습자들은 자신의 모바일 폰에 설치된 자기조절학습 챗봇을 활용하여 학습을 진행하였다. 4주에 걸친 학습 활동이 진행되는 동안 챗봇 상호작용 로그, 자기조절학습 사전 사후 설문 및 시스템 사용성 설문을 통해 데이터를 수집, 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 더 높은 수준의 자기조절학습 향상을 나타낸 학습자들이 챗봇과의 상호작용에서 더 포괄적이고 목표 지향적인 응답을 하였으며, 구체적인 학습 전략과 학습 과정에 대한 성찰적 사고를 보여주었다. 또한, 연구 참가자들은 전반적으로 모바일 기반 자기조절학습 챗봇 사용에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하였으며, 개방형 설문 문항에 대한 응답으로 자기조절학습 지원을 위한 챗봇 시스템의 개선점을 제안하였다. 이 연구 결과를 바탕으로 교육용 AI 챗봇을 활용한 자기주도학습 지원을 최적화하기 위한 향후 시스템 개발에 함의를 제공해줄 것으로 기대된다. Despite the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology in education, much remains to be learned on how self-regulated learning (SRL) is facilitated using mobile-based AI chatbots. To fill this gap, our study embarked on an exploratory investigation using a mobile-based chatbot designed to promote SRL behaviors among foreign language learners. The participants in the study were 11 adult foreign language learners from the United States and South Korea who interacted with the chatbot over a four-week duration on their mobile phones. Data were collected from chatbot interaction logs, pre- and post-SRL surveys, and a system usability survey. The findings revealed that learners with higher levels of SRL skill improvement interacted with more comprehensive and targeted responses, including specific learning strategies and reflective thoughts regarding their learning processes. We also found an overall positive perceived usability toward using a mobile-based SRL chatbot and a moderate correlation between perceived usability and SRL skill improvement. Open-ended survey data provided further suggestions on chatbot improvements when developing a chatbot system for scaffolding SRL processes. This work contributes to the burgeoning field of AI in education and provides directions for future research for optimizing chatbot-driven SRL interventions.

        어린 알라스카 말라무트의 대퇴골에 발생한 골육종

        An 18-month-old male Alaskan malamute was euthanized due to slowly growing mass around the left femur after history of left posterior limb lameness. At necropsy, a firm confluent mass approximately 15cm in diameter was noted surrounding the femur and proximal portion of the tibia/ulna with traumatic ulceration of the overlying skin. On cross sections of the mass, many unencapsulated firm tan coalescing lobules were noted. The neoplasm consisted of closely packed spindle cells with homogenous eosinophilic material (osteoids) between the neoplastic cells. The pulmonary metastasis was confirmed. Based on the gross and histopathologic examinations, the case was diagnosed as juvenile osteosarcoma.

        Cytologic Aspect of Fibrous Osteodystrophy in a Juvenile Siberian Husky

        A 5-month-old intact female Siberian Husky dog was presented for evaluation of severely enlarged maxilla. Abnormalities in CBC, serum chemistry and urinalysis indicated purulent inflammation and renal failure. Cytologic examination of the swollen maxilla showed a mixed population of multinucleated giant cells and round to polygonal to spindle shaped cells either individualized or aggregated. Both type of cells showed moderate anisokaryosis, and anisocytosis, prominent nucleolus or multiple nucleoli, and coarse chromatin. On histopathology maxilla and turbinate were diffusely expanded and replaced by variably dense fibrous connective tissue, and the kidneys showed changes consistent with renal dysplasia. Based on these findings, the diagnosis of fibrous osteodystrophy due to renal dysplasia and fibrosis was made. Despite the supportive care, the dog continued to decline and was euthanized.

        Shih tzu에서 저혈당증을 동반한 악성 전이성 인슐린종

        A six year old female Shih Tzu was euthanized after having about 2 months history of weakness and convulsion with hypoglycemia. On ultrasonography, several masses in variable sizes were noted in the liver and fine needle aspiration cytology revealed probable neoplasm of pancreatic origin. On necropsy, numerous round firm tan nodules with central depression were noted in the liver and heart. Mesenteric lymph node was enlarged and fused with presumable pancreatic tissue. Based on the histopathology and immunohistochemistry, the tumor was confirmed as malignant metastatic insulinoma.

        어포던스(affordance)에 근거한 박물관 및 미술관 모바일 도슨트 어플리케이션 디자인 연구

        ICT의 융합적 발달과 스마트폰의 급격한 확산은 박물관과 미술관에도 영향을 끼치고 있다. 모바일 도슨트 어플리케이션은 사용자와의 인터랙션을 통해 다양한 커뮤니케이션을 가능하게 해주고 인지적 부담을 덜어줄 것으로 보인다. 하지만 이러한 변화에 비해 모바일 도슨트어플리케이션에 관한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 3가지 모바일 도슨트를 중심으로 사용자가 각각의 어포던스를 평가해 봄으로써 사용자 참여를 증진 할 수 있는 어포던스 요인을 연구하고자 한다. Hartson이 제안한 어포던스 유형인 인지적, 물리적, 감각적, 기능적 어포던스를 기반으로 하였으며 연구 대상으로 선정한 3가지 어플리케이션을 중심으로 총 18명을 상대로 반 구조화 된 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 진행 하였다. 그동안 미흡했던 모바일 도슨트 어플리케이션에 관한 연구를 어포던스 이론을 기반으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 시행 하였고, 도출된 각 유형별 특징들을 적용해 모바일 도슨트 앱 인터페이스의 지향점을 제시해 보았다. Hartson의 어포던스 이론을 바탕으로 모바일 도슨트 디자인을 설계한다면 사용자의 경험에 적합한 대안이 될 수 있을 것이라 기대된다. ICT and the rapid diffusion of smart phone influences the design and management of museums and galleries. By means of wide spreading, Mobile Docent program would make it possible to communicate with users and reduce cognitive burden. Despite its importance, however, researches on Mobile Docent applications have been lacking significantly. In this light of scarce, the goal of this study is to identify the factors of affordance. This study assesses each affordance, following the ideas of three types of mobile docents. On the three selected applications of this research, 18 participants were interviewed in semi-structured focus group. The affordance theory is based on affordance type introduced by Hartson: cognitive, physical, sensory, and functional affordance. Focusing on the previous affordance theory on Mobile docent program, this study conducts a focus-group interview and observes the features of each type. Based on the findings of the study, it suggests the mobile docent application interface. To further this study on mobile docent design, the affordance theory by hartson will be helpful to develop a great alternative for user experience.

        Cytologic Aspect of Keratoacanthoma with Granulomatous Inflammation in a Dog

        A 5-year-old Pekinese dog was presented for evaluation of a back mass of 1 year duration. Fine needle aspiration cytology of the mass revealed numerous keratinocytes, and a lesser number of multinucleated giant cells along with a low number of spindle cells, which were suggestive of epidermal cyst or hair follicle tumor with secondary granulomatous inflammation. The mass was surgically removed and examined histologically. Microscopically there was partially encapsulated well-demarcated nodule in deep dermis and subcutis. The nodule consisted of central cyst and secondary cysts that were lined by a single or multiple layers of basaloid cells and squamous epitheliums with central laminated keratin. Multifocal aggregation of numerous macrophages and multinucleated giant cells were present. The final diagnosis was keratoacanthoma with granulomatous inflammation. The mass did not recur 5 months after surgery.

        돌미나리씨 추출물에 의한 3T3-L1 지방전구세포의 분화 억제

        돌미나리(Oenanthe javanica)는 뛰어난 해독작용과 항균작용으로 예로부터 약재로 사용되어 왔으나 돌미나리씨의 활성은 아직 밝혀지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 3T3-L1 지방전구세포를 사용하여 돌미나리씨 메탄올 추출물(OJSE)의 지방세포분화에 미치는 영향과 그 기전에 대해 조사하였다. 세포독성이 없는 농도(1~200 μg/ml)의 OJSE를 지방세포 분화유도제와 동시에 지방전구세포에 처리하여 분화시킨 후 Oil Red O 염색을 한 결과 세포 내 lipid droplet 생성 및 triglyceride 축적이 OJSE 농도의존적으로 감소되었으며, 지방세포분화과정에 중요한 역할을 하는 지방세포특이적 마커인 CCAAT/enhancer binding proteins α, β (C/EBPα, C/EBPβ) 및 peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ)의 발현이 현저하게 저하되었다. 이는 OJSE에 의해 지방세포 분화 관련 전사인자의 발현이 효과적으로 억제되어 지방세포로의 분화가 저해되고 결과적으로 지방세포내 lipid droplet 생성 및 triglyceride 축적이 억제되었다는 것을 시사한다. 또한 OJSE처리에 의해 mitotic clonal expanstion 단계에서의 세포증식이 저해되었으며, 세포주기의 변화를 분석한 결과, OJSE처리에 의해 지방전구세포의 G1 arrest가 유발됨을 확인하였다. 세포주기 관련 단백질 발현을 분석한 결과, OJSE 농도의존적으로 Cdk inhibitor인 p21의 발현이 현저하게 증가되었으며, 반면 cyclin E, Cdk2, E2F-1 및 phospho-Rb의 발현은 저하됨을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과들에 의해 OJSE는 지방전구세포의 G1 arrest를 유도하고 지방세포분화 관련 단백질의 발현을 억제하여 지방세포로의 분화를 억제하는 항비만 효능을 갖는 천연 소재임을 확인하였고, 본 연구는 이를 활용한 향후 지속적인 연구를 위한 기초자료로 그 가치가 매우 높을 것으로 생각된다. Oenanthe javanica has been used as a food source and also in traditional folk medicine for its detoxifying properties and anti-microbial effects since ancient times. In this study, we evaluated the effect and mechanism of O. javanica seed methanol extract (OJSE) on adipocyte differentiation by 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. Under non-toxic conditions, OJSE treatment resulted in a dose-dependent inhibition of lipid droplet generation and triglyceride accumulation by suppressing adipocyte differentiation, which are associated with the decreased expression of key proadipogenic transcription factors including CCAAR/enhancer binding protein α, β (C/EBPα, C/EBPβ) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ). OJSE also significantly inhibited proliferation and differentiation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes through G1-phase arrest, indicating that OJSE blocked mitotic clonal expansion during adipocyte differentiation. Investigation of the alteration of G1 phase arrest-related proteins indicated a dose-dependent increase in the expression of p21 and reduction in expression of cyclin E, Cdk2, E2F-1 and phospho-Rb by OSJE. Taken together, these results suggest that OJSE inhibits adipocyte differentiation by blocking the mitotic clonal expansion, which is accompanied by preadipocyte cell cycle arrest.

        Understanding of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in South Korea: Does Experience Make a Difference?

        Using the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, this study investigated whether teachers’ technology integration practice and self-reported technological pedagogical content knowledge varied between different levels of teaching experience. We also explore some of the challenges of integrating technology into language teaching. Seventy-three pre-service and in-service teachers (mean age = 34) who had done graduate-level coursework participated in the study. The participants included teachers of English as a foreign language of various ethnic and teaching backgrounds. Some were native English speakers, some were not. Data were collected through a TPACK self-assessment survey that included open-ended questions. Overall, the analyses showed differences between novice and expert teachers in their understanding of pedagogical knowledge, technology knowledge, technological content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, and technological pedagogical content knowledge. The two remaining subscales in the survey (pedagogical content knowledge and content knowledge) showed no difference in perceived knowledge between the novice and expert groups. In the qualitative data, four themes commonly emerged from the open-ended questions, and these may explain the challenges of integrating technology into language teaching. Future research should continue to consider how teaching experience relates to technology integration practices and in-class technological pedagogical content knowledge.
