二面交配分析에 依한 短日下에서의 水稻出穗期 遺傳에 關한 硏究

To information on the inheriance of heading date of rice under the short-day condition, the F_2 seeds obtained from all possible combinations of the diallel crosses between five leading rice varieties: Nongbaek, Tongil, Palgueng, Mangyeong and Gimmaze were grown under the short-day condition and natural condition. The days to heading were investigated and analysed for genetic components. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. Under the natural condition, the durations to heading of all combinations excluding Nongbaek x Palgueng and Nongbaek x Mangyeong were longer than those of their parents. mean. Whereas, under the short-day condition, the duration to heading of Mangyeong x Gimmaze combination was equal to that of their parents mean, and those of all other combinations were significantly shorter than those of their parents mean. 2. Under the natural condition, the non-allelic gene interactions were significant in days to heading, but under the short-day condition, the non-allelic gene interactions were not significant, and inheritance of days to heading revealed partial dominace in which additive effects were greater than dominant effects. 3. Tongil and Gimmaze were located on dominant zone under the natural day-length, and Nongbaek and Mangyeong were under the short-day condition. 4. Under the natual condition, dominant effects were greater than additive effects, and both heritabilities of the broad and the narrow senses were significantly low. Under the short-day condition, additive effects were significantly higher than dominant effects, and both heritabilities of the broad and the narrow senses were high.

Calculating break-even price of calf production is closely associated with reproductive efficiency. To determine the price, we need data from reproduction records including number of claves weaned, number of cows exposed for breeding, and annual cash coast per cow, and average weaning or market weight of claves sold and retained. Unfortunately, the data were not available in Korea native cow (Hanwoo). To evaluate the performance and the price, we collected calving interval from about 60,000 cows for last 10 years and estimated reproductive performance. Calving interval was increased 4.3% and pregnancy rate was decreased about 1.4∼2.8% year-on-year. Increases in growth rates of number of cow and semen per calf supported the low reproductive performance. Finally, break-even price was calculated using estimated percent calf crop and demonstrated that growth rate of break-even price is larger than that of annual cash per cow, suggesting cow-calf profitability and financial efficiency in Korea native cow (Hanwoo) is getting worse

This experiment was carried out to obtain some imformations about the ecological variations of the heading time of the newly breeded Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigrees according to the seasonal changes of the seeding date, day length and temperature. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1) At all varieties, days to heading showed a straight reduction according as the seeding time was delayed. 2) At the group of Japonica varieties, the days to heading of early maturing varieties were much shortened and that of medium or late maturing varieties were little or not shortened under high temperature condition but at the group of Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigrees, days to heading were significantly elongated under high temerature condition. 3) At the group of Japonica varieties, the effect of the short day condition on the days to heading was significantly high at the medium and the late maturing varieties than at the early maturing varieties, however, the short day effect on the reduction of days to heading was not related with the earlyness of each varieties at the group of Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigress. 4) Days to heading of all varieties under the high temperature condition were longer than that under the ordinary culture. On the other hand, the days to heading of Japonica varieties under the short day treatment were shorter than the days to heading of ordinary culture but at the group of Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigrees, the days to heading under the short day treatment were longer than ordinary culture. 5) At both varieties groups, the days to heading at each seeding time were significantly correlated with days to heading at ordinary cultivation. 6) At the group of Japonica varieties, relatively high correlation(p=0.1) was recognized between the days to heading by delay of seeding time, but at the group of Indica x Japonicava rieties/pedigrees, correlation between the ordinary heading date and the shortening rate of days to heading was very low.

The goal of this study is estimate the required urban facilities of 4 cities within Chollabuk Province Region by using the simple and multiple regression analysis at the horizon of 1996 and 2001. Before the estimation of urban facilities, first, the socio-economic factors to influence the urban facilities are evaluated by using the simple regression analysis with the stastical year book of Korea. Secondly, the 8 urban facilities are estimated with 7 socio-economic factors as independent variables using multiple regression analysis. Naturally we have had the problem of selecting the number of independent variables in the multiple regression midel for each facilities.

In this study, HPAI outbreak data and an epidemiological model were used to estimate the basic reproduction number for HPAI by region, and based on this, the risk of HPAI spread by region was compared, and regional characteristics affecting the difference in risk of HPAI spread were investigated. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the infection spread condition (basic reproduction number of 1 or more) was satisfied in all regions where the HPAI transmission rate was estimated. In addition, it was found that the size of the region and the type of poultry raising in the region had a statistically significant effect on the HPAI transmission rate. Based on the findings, the implications are presented as follows. First, more stricter quarantine measures are needed to prevent the spread of HPAI in areas where basic reproduction number and HPAI transmission rate are consistently high. Second, in order to reduce the risk of HPAI spread, it is necessary to shorten the time from identification of infected farms to culling. Third, it is necessary to further strengthen biosafety in regions with relatively small area, many duck farms and poultry, and many paddy fields.
