Variable fuzzy control for heat pump operation

The aim of this study is to determine the electronic expansion valve (EEV) opening using a fuzzy table when the superheating of a variable capacity air conditioning system is controlled via fuzzy control. Optimum opening of EEV is determined by applying superheat control method, where factors including superheat error and superheat gradient, as well as compressor capacity, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, and indoor fan rpm, are considered. This control algorithm uses a fuzzy table wherein values are changed to optimal values according to operating conditions, enabling fast and stable control.

Room air flow and temperature distribution was numerically investigated where a PAC(personal air conditioning) system was installed. The calculated results were compared with those from experiments. The effects of the important operation parameters such as the air flow rate, velocity, and temperature at the diffuser on the thermal performance of the system were studied. The possibility of energy saving using the PAC system was verified from the results, It was shown that the warm air from the diffuser could not spread over the whole task area if the inlet temperature was too high.
Inferior Blow-Out Fracture Reduction Using Two Urinary Balloon Catheters

Background: The reduction of orbital blowout fracture primarily aims to normalize the extra-ocular movement by returning the herniated orbital soft tissue into the original position, and to prevent enophthalmos by normalizing the orbital cavity volume. We introduce a balloon catheter-assisted orbital floor reduction technique. Methods: A retrospective review was performed for all patients with orbital floor fracture who underwent the technique described in the main body of this text. Medical records were reviewed for demographic data, clinical presentation and course, degree of enophthalmos, intraorbital volume on computed tomography scan, and postoperative outcomes. The enophthalmos and intraorbital volume of the injured site were compared to the uninjured eye and orbit. Results: The review identified 14 patients (11 male, 3 female). The mean preoperative difference in en-exopthalmos was 2.13 mm, while the mean orbital volume was 116%. The mean postoperative difference in en-exophthalmos had improved to 0.61 mm with a mean orbital volume of 101.85%. At the time of catheter removal at 10 days, three patients experienced diplopia (n=1), extra-ocular movement disorder (1), or enophthalmos (1). All of these had resolved by the 6-month follow-up visit. Conclusion: Balloon catheter-assisted reduction of the orbital floor fractures was associated with improvements in intraorbital volume and enopthalmos in the 14 patients. Notable complications included diplopia, enophthalmos, and limited extra-ocular movement, all of which were transient in the early postoperative period and had resolved by 6-month follow up.
암반-지보 반응 모델을 이용한 터널 숏크리트 라이닝의 열화 거동 분석

The deterioration of shotcrete lining of tunnel due to aging, deformation, fracturing and accumulation of defects causes a serious safety problem for tunnels. Aging of the shotcrete lining, the main factor of lining deterioration, can be regarded as the time-dependent degradation of shotcrete properties. Equations for shotcrete degradation are obtained from experimental data on the shotcrete properties varying with time in acidic fluids. The effects of the lining deterioration on the rock-support(shotcrete) interaction are studied for two conditions: (1) time-independent deformation of rock and/or support, (2) time-dependent deformation of rock and/or support. 숏크리트 라이닝의 변상은 노후화, 변형, 파괴, 결함 등을 포함하는 용어로서 최근 터널의 안정성에 대한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 변상의 주 원인중 하나인 노후화는 시간에 따라 물성이 저하되는 열화현상으로 간주할 수 있다. 터널 구조물이 설치되는 유해환경에서의 숏크리트의 열화현상에 대한 실험 결과로 열화식을 유도하였으며, 숏크리트의 물성 저하시 암반과 지보재의 시간의존적 특성을 고려하지 않은 경우와 암반의 시간의존적 특성과 지보재의 시간의존적 특성 중 열화현상을 고려한 경우에 대한 분석을 통해 암반의 시간의존성 유무에 따른 열화현상에 대한 영향을 분석하였다.
저 착상 휜과 두 대 압축기 사이클을 이용한 히트펌프 난방성능 개선에 관한 연구

This study presents the experimental study on improvement of frost/defrost performance in an heat pump system with newly developed fin and multiple compressors. As multiple compressors system, the variable and single speed compressor combinations has been introduced and compared with single speed 1-compressor system in a view point of improvement of frost/defrost performance. Also, newly developed corrugate shaped fin has been compared with conventional louver shaped fin. The frost/defrost performance is defined and some parameters are compared to discuss the effect of each combination. From this experimental study, it is known that if the variable and single speed compressor combination system equipped with corrugate shaped fin, the system performance has greatly improved not only for heating capacity, but also for frost performance.
