The compressor has one of important roles in refrigeration cycle and it determines refrigeration efficiency and quality. This paper aims to monitor rotary compressors for room air conditioners by using Acoustic Emission(AE) technique. The reliability of rotary compressors has been evaluated through visual inspection on them after long term test. This paper describes methods for acquisition and processing AE raw signal to monitor the state of rotary compressor. A detecting method of abnormal compressor in real time is suggested and special-purpose monitoring system which can be applied to automatic manufacturing line is developed using one-chip microprocessor at low cost.

In this study, the characteristics of signals such as acoustic emission, vibration amplitude and noise level which are derived from the abnormal condition of compressor are investigated. The normal condition, vane stick sound and roller defect condition are chosen to analyze the signal in each cases. From the feature extraction of each signals, the dominant parameters of each signals which can identify the abnormal condition are suggested.
교실에서의 천장형 냉난방기의 취출온도 및 취출각도에 따른 열환경 시뮬레이션

Research has been carried out to study thermal environment in a classroom under three kinds of air diffusion temperature and six kinds of air diffusion direction for ceiling type air conditioner. The velocity and temperature distributions of air in the room calculated by 3-dimensional numerical method(PHOENICS), This present study was also conducted to calculate the Air Diffusion Performance Index(ADPI) for cooling conditions and Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied(PPD) for heating conditions. This analysis shows that the optimum angle of ceiling type air conditioner's diffusion is $15{\sim}30^{\circ}$ for cooling mode and about $15{\sim}45^{\circ}$ for heating mode in these calculating conditions. And also analysis has been carried out to evaluate thermal comfort of vertical and horizontal cross section of classroom.

Indoor air quality becomes of a concern recently in view of human health. This study investigates the air diffusion performance and the air change efficiency of a classroom, when outdoor air is introduced in addition to the heating/cooling operation of a ceiling-mounted heat pump. A CFD analysis has been performed to investigate the effect of the discharge angle of the air jets from the heat pump for both parallel and series types of outdoor air system. It is observed that the series type creates more uniform indoor environment compared to the parallel type in general. It can be concluded the discharge angle should not be larger than 40o for the parallel type, in order not to generate thermal stratification in the room.
저 착상 휜과 두 대 압축기 사이클을 이용한 히트펌프 난방성능 개선에 관한 연구

This study presents the experimental study on improvement of frost/defrost performance in an heat pump system with newly developed fin and multiple compressors. As multiple compressors system, the variable and single speed compressor combinations has been introduced and compared with single speed 1-compressor system in a view point of improvement of frost/defrost performance. Also, newly developed corrugate shaped fin has been compared with conventional louver shaped fin. The frost/defrost performance is defined and some parameters are compared to discuss the effect of each combination. From this experimental study, it is known that if the variable and single speed compressor combination system equipped with corrugate shaped fin, the system performance has greatly improved not only for heating capacity, but also for frost performance.
