Adavanced Driver Assistance System(ADAS) use a variety of sensors as their functions become more complex. Errors from each sensor cause fatal malfunctions in the entire system. Therefore a multi-sensor Fail-Safe algorithm for Advanced Driver Assistance System(ADAS) has been considered in this paper. We proposed a sensor track management system which diagnoses failure time of either Radar or Camera that lead to a fatal malfunction under the ADAS application performing. The system operates multi-sensor fusion with forward radars and a monocular camera under the supervision of Track Management System. The main purpose in this research lies in the field of track loss from vehicle detection fault. We have tested several simulation tests for analysis on the vehicle detection fault of time for ADAS Fail-Safe and three important tests of the results demonstrated that perception module among the entire ADAS system has an important role and should keep on diagnosing the sensor fail to hand it over to the next decision and control.
Vol.31 No.2
This paper aims to trace the changing value of Korea, particularly the Silla Dynasty(57 BC?-935 CE), in medieval Islamic Cartography by examining texts and maps. At the earliest stage of Islamic geography, Korea located on the opposite side of the end of China at the Muslim maritime route. However, it gradually moved southward towards Africa and largely confused with Southeast Asian islands. This paper introduces first the visible influence of Muslim’s concept of the Southeast Asian world in their geography of Korea, then move to discuss the possible transmission of Muslims’ conceptions of Korean to Southeast Asian places to compare. Ultimately, this paper discusses the Muslims’ integration of the Hindu geography of Southeast Asia and the Islamic geography of Korea that later results in establishing the theological geography of Muslims by paralleling Korea and the Canary Islands to present the harmonious globe.
Vol.24 No.2
This paper examines the medieval Islamic worldview in historical and geographic writings about East Asia in the tenth century, particularly two books, Murūj al-Dhahab and Kitāb al-Tanbīh wa-al-Ishrāf, by al-Masʿūdī about Korean history. This article explores the conceptual elements in the texts about Silla to reconstruct the integration process of the foundation of the Islamic world history. The thesis’ approaches the application of the synthesis of previous written knowledge from different ancient civilizations and the contemporary field data collected by the time’s Muslim network over the world. Additionally, this research refers to the period dynamics among East Asian countries and their foreign relations with the Islamic world. The main argument is that the Islamic world created Korean history to meet Islamic theology. Particularly, al-Masʿūdī set the origin of the Silla people from Yaphet, the son of Gomer in the Bible. Also, he designated the seventh nation consisting of the people of Silla and China. He regarded the Chinese and Silla people were derived from one of the seven primal civilizations.
Vol.0 No.48
This paper aims to reveal the pattern of medieval Islamic world’s trade with East Asia, particularly with the Silla Dynasty, by examining the ninth-century Abbasid court’s administrative geographic book, Kitāb al-Masālik wa-al-Mamālik, by Ibn Khurdādhbih. This book was published to meet the demands of the administrative geography along with the establishment and management of the Islamic empire by the time’s chief in charge of the post, communication, and intelligence who was also the boon-friend of the caliphs. This article scrutinizes the historicity of the elaborated list of the eleven items that came from “the sea east of China” and the origin of these items whether they came from Silla, elsewhere, or just imagined, by textual and conceptual approaches. By analyzing the text, the author and his tendency, the purpose of the compile, data acquisition, distribution, modification and edition, this paper concluded that the list faithfully reflects the actual trade. However, the imports in the text look hardly believable as all of them came from Silla when we consider the frequencies and volumes for Silla in the book compared to ones for other places including China, the itineraries of Muslim sailors and the features of local items, the activity of the contemporary Silla merchants and the mutual exchanges between them and Muslims. Consequently, this paper concluded that not all of these goods came from Silla but seamen from the West collected the eleven commodities from multiple places in East Asia including Silla, China, and probably other places in the region.
