The recent trend shows that the aspect ratio of steel fiber, the auxiliary material of steel fiber reinforced shotcrete in the construction work ordered in domestic market is designed greatly. Therefore this study compares and analyzes the physical properties (compression, flexural strength and flexural toughness) according to the aspect ratios of steel fiber with φ 7 x 35 mm which was applied to conventional designs and that of φ 0.5 x 30mm which is applied in recent designs through inner and outdoor experiment and is to present the helpful applications of steel fiber for the future construction work.

As recently construction technology is developed, concrete materials ae applied to high-storied building, long and grand bridge, huge dam and deep sea structures and the properties required for general concrete have been diversified and highly performed and then the research of high strength concrete has been done actively as the means of improving the quality of concrete. The limit in manufacturing concrete of high performance with conventional method using water, cement and aggregate is recognized and silica fume of pozzolan quality with fly ash has been noted as the mixing materials which improve the strength and quality of concrete greatly and the profound researches of it have been conducted. Accordingly, this study applies silica fume to steel fiber reinforced shoterete, one of reinforce of tunnel, according to rapid increase of the construction of tunnel, expressway, rapid-transit railroad and urban subway with the introduction of NATM technique and then aims at confirming the potential of improving the property of high strength SFRS like high strength concrete.

This paper presents a new type of electrowetting driven tandem light deflector for high performance optical application. To steer an incident light, the proposed light deflector deforms the fluid interface using electrowetting actuation. The performance of the light deflector was experimentally verified by using a prototype of the proposed light deflector. Single and tandem light deflectors were separately prepared using microfabrication processes. The optical tests of the deflectors were conducted using a laser light. The proposed tandem light deflector obtained a 45° beam steering angle with a 5.3° deflection angle while a single light deflector was required for a 10.9° deflection angle to obtain the same beam steering angle. The proposed tandem light deflector with high optical capability can be applied to various optical applications from camera modules in mobile smart devices to advanced future optical systems.

On the tunnel design, 3D model substituted for 2D model because of economic reason and time shortage. It is applied Load Distribution Factor, which is compared of displacement of tunnel crown, generally 50-25-25, 40-30-30 are used for tunnel design. Logicality about used Load Distribution Factor will investigated.

Generally, tunnel lining is constructed when tunnel's strain has come to zero after excavation. Therefore, the cause of the later crack of tunnel lining is not additional loads. This study analyzes the cause of tunnel lining cracks with respect to the properties of concrete and the lining's mechanical behaviour. When lining's structural design is examined, the side pressure of concrete under construction is considered. A proper boundary condition is studied. The structural analysis method about the generation of cracks is presented, and the effect of drying shrinkage is analyzed.

Recently, environmental pollution is the one of most important issues. So many kinds of eco-sound construction materials have been a matter of concern. Prefabricated vertical drain made of natural fiber may be one of the solutions instead of Plastic Drain Board which can cause some environmental problems. In this study, consolidation test of PDB, FDB and SDB, were conducted by using the multiplex consolidation device which was designed for the purpose of direct comparison of drainage characteristics. From the test results, initial settlement behavior showed a tendency that the larger flow capacity Plastic Drain Board has, the faster initial settlement was. However, as consolidation process goes by, their time-settlement behaviors converged on some extents.
