        Ce(IV)-아민류의 신화-환원반응(III)

        Ce(IV) 이온과 에틸렌디아민이 착체를 형성하고 이 착체가 해리하여 자유 라디칼을 생성함으로써 개시되는 아크릴로니트릴의 액상 중합을 질산용액 중에서 실시하였으며 Ce(IV)-에틸렌디아민의 산화-환원반응으로 인한 Ce(IV) 이온 농도의 감소를 측정하였다. Ce(IV) 이온의 킬레이트 화합물로 믿어지는 배위 착체를 형성하고 이 착체의 불균일 해리속도가 이산화-환원반응의 율속 단계임을 알 수 있었다. 최대의 중합반응 속도를 나타내는 최적 Ce(IV) 이온 농도치를 관측할 수 있었는데 Ce(IV) 이온이 폴리머 라디칼을 산화시킴으로써 중합정지 반응에도 관여함을 확인하였다. 실험 결과, 에틸렌디아민을 첨가함으로써 중합반응 속도가 현저하게 증가함에 따라 중합반응 속도와 생성고분자의 분자량이 감소함을 알 수 있었으며 본 반응의 활성화 에너지값으로 5.74kcal/mol을 얻었다. Polymerization of acrylonitrile initiated by Ce(IV)-ethyleneciamine redox system in nitric acid solution at 3$0^{\circ}C$ was investigated under nitrogen atmosphere. From the results of kinetic study, it was concluded that ceric ion forms a coordination complex, which is believed to be chelate. The presence of the optimum concentaration of Ce(IV) ion in the polymerization suggested that the termination of the polymerization was due to the formation of redox pair between Ce(IV) ion and polymer radical. The rate of polymerization was remarkably enhanced by the addition of ethylenediamine to the system and the order of dependence of the rate of polymerization on monomer concentration was found to be 1.7. Rate of polymerization (RP) and molecular weight of the polymer, however, decreased with increasing concentration of ethylenediamine. The activation energy was estimated to be 5.74 kcal/mol, implicating that this system is effective for the vinyl polymerization at low temperature.

        Some Physical Properties of Worsted Yarns from Wool Blended with Polyester Fiber

        Wool/Polyester 혼방 소모사의 방적공정중 섬유절단에 관한 조사와 25tex혼방사 방출시 polyester의 혼방율이 소모사의 물리적특성에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 방적공정중 섬유의 절단은 주로 carding 공정에서 일어났고, 더 나가서는 gilling 공정에서도 손상을 받았음을 알았다. polyester의 함량이 증가할수록 균제도, 꼬임수 변동, 인장강도와 절단선도 및 그들의 C.V.%등은 좋아졌고, 번수변동에는 별다른 영향을 주지 않았다. Some physical properties of wool/polyester blended worsted yarns were investigated. Fiber breakage was mainly occurred from the carding process, and later on, further in the consecutive gilling performance. In the 25 tex wool/polyester blended yarn, the content of polyester fiber contributed to the evenness, C.V.% of tpcm, breaking load, elongation at break and their C.V.%. But the C.V.% of yarn count was not affected significantly by the content of those two fibers.

        방염 폴리에스테르 섬유의 열적거동 (II) -브롬화합물/산화안티몬의 상승작용-

        This study was undertaken to elucidate bromine-antimon Synergism of the Polyester fabrics treated with a mixture of organobromine compounds/antimony trioxide. For this purpose fide aromatic bromine compounds with a relatively high bromine content such as DBDPO, OB-DPO, HBCD, PBT, and HBB were chosen. Polyester fabrics were treated with the aqueous dispersion solution of a mixture of bromine compounds/antimony trioxide together with binder. Bromine-antimony synergism was confirmed by plotting the LOI values against bromine/antimony weight ratio. Bromine-antimony synergism was inferred by comparing thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis curves of a mixture of bromine compounds/antimony trioxide with those combined mathematically from thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis curves of bromine compounds and antimony trioxide, respectively.

        방염 폴리에스테르 섬유의 열적거동 (IV) -LNOI와 잔류탄화물의 분석에 의한 방염 메카니즘의 규명-

        This study was carried out to investigate the flame-retardant mechanism of the polyester fabrics treated with a mixture of organobromine compounds/antimony trioxide. For this purpose polyester fabrics were treated by pad-dry-cure method with the aqueous dispersion solutions of DBDPO/antimony trioxide or HBCD/antimony trioxide using a binder. The flame-retardant mechanism was studied by the limiting nitrous oxide index (LNOI) and char analysis. The LNOI values hardly changed with the increase of bromine contents. The results of char analysis showed that most of the bromine presented in treated fabrics had volatilized during the pyrolysis for 3 minutes at 50$0^{\circ}C$. The gas phase mechanism was found to operate in polyester fabrics treated with combination of Br/antimony trioxide. This was also confirmed by comparison with the results of LNOI and char analysis of DAP treated polyester fabrics of the condensed phase mechanism.

        방염 폴리에스테르 섬유의 열적거동 폴리에스테르 직물의 내구성 방염가공(I)

        For the durable flame retardance polyester fabrics were treated by pad-dry-cure method with the aqueous dispersion solution of a mixture of bromine compounds/antimony trioxide(mole ratio of or to Sb=3:1) using a binder. The aromatic bromine compounds with a relatively high bromine contents such as decabromodiphenyl oxide, octabromodiphenyl oxide, hexabromo-cyclododecane, pentabromotoluene, and hexabromobenzene were used. The values of treated fabrics increased linearly with Br contents except HBCD in which the flame-retardant efficiency of Br slowed down after 9% o.w.f. Treated fabrics showed a reasonable flame retardancy after repeated home launderings. The stiffness of treated fabrics were influenced by the melting point of bromine compounds.

        중번수 오우픈엔드 방적사의 개발에 관한 연구

        To develope the medium count open-end spun yarn, process conditions ranged from opening and picking to open-end spining were examined. Being considered the factors as combing roller r.p.m., cotton grade, twist multiplier, the physical properties of the product spun in open end spinning frames were tested. From this research, the results are as follows. It is considered that twist is not a critical factor affecting single yarn strength because of the twist structure of open-end yarn. The decrease of single yarn strength as increase of yarn count makes the spinning of high count open-end yarn difficult, but it was found that medium count yarn can be spun by optimum process conditions of carding room.

        Durable press finish with a minimum of strength and abrasion losses was carried out for the viscose rayon/cotton blended fabric by the wet fixation process. The mixed resin of DMDHEU and melamine formaldehyde was padded at pH 2. The concentration of the melamine formaldehyde influenced on the properties of the finished fabric, but that of DMDHEU was not significant. The fabric finished by the wet fixation process was superior to the one by the conventional pad-dry-cure process and showed the performance higher than the minimum requirement reference in the performance profile chart suggested by Hollies.

        열중량 분석에 의한 방염 메카니즘의 규명

        This study was carried out to investigate the flame-retardant mechanism of polyester fabrics treated with a mixture of bromine compounds/antimony trioxide. For this purpose polyester fabrics were treated by pad-dry-cure method with the aqueous dispersion solutions of decabromodiphenyl oxide/antimony trioxide or hexabromocyclododecane/antimony trioxide using a binder. The flame-retardant mechanism was studied by thermogravimetric analysis and confirmed by the residue number method. The flame retardancy was found to be operative in the gas phase mechanism. This was also confirmed by comparison with those of diammonium phosphate treated polyester fabrics of the condensed phase mechanism. Thermogravimetric analysis curves were considered to be one of effective tools to differentiate the flame-reame-retardant mechanism.

        Ce(IV)-아민류의 산화-환원 반응(II) -분광법에 의한 동력학적 연구-

        The redox mechanism of Ce(IV)-amine in the nitric acid medium was investigated by the spectrophotometric method. The Cc(III) formation by the redox reaction of Ce(IV)-amine produced the absorption peak at around 295 nm. From the data obtained at this absorption peak, it was concluded that the Ce(IV)-amine redox reaction followed the first order kinetics. The increase of a stability constant in Ce(IV)-amine complex increased the reduction action of the amine, resulting in the increase of Ce(IV)-amine redox reaction rate. From the Arrhenius plot, 11.09 kcal/mol of activation energy in dissociation of Ce(IV)-ethylenediamine complex was obtained.
