We report our experience with 2 cases of perforation of intrathoracic stomach after Ivor Lewis operation for esophageal cancer. There was no problem in the anastomotic site, but the drainage from pleural cavity increased after oral intake. The stomach perforation was proved by rethoracotomy. The perforation site was repaired by sutures with pedicled intercostal muscle. 충남대학교 의과대학 흉부외과학 교실에서 흉부식도암 수술적 치료로 흉곽내 위문합 Ivor Lewis 수술후 흉곽내 위천공이 발생한 환자 2례를 치험하였다. 문합부는 문제가 없었으나 경구섭취 후 흉강을 통한 배액이 증가되었다. 위천공은 재수술을 위해 개흉술을 시행하여 확인 할 수 있었다. 위천공 부위는 재봉합 후 늑간근을 이용하여 보강하였다.

A new High Frequency Induction Heating (HFIH) process has been developed to fabricate dense $Al_2O_3$ reinforced with Fe-Ni magnetic metal dispersion particles. The process is based on the reduction of metal oxide particles immediately prior to sintering. The synthesized $Al_2O_3$/Fe-Ni nanocomposite powders were formed directly from the selective reduction of metal oxide powders, such as NiO and $Fe_2O_3$. Dense $Al_2O_3$/Fe-Ni nanocomposite was fabricated using the HFIH method with an extremely high heating rate of $2000^{\circ}C/min$. Phase identification and microstructure of nanocomposite powders and sintered specimens were determined by X-ray diffraction and SEM and TEM, respectively. Vickers hardness experiment were performed to investigate the mechanical properties of the $Al_2O_3$/Fe-Ni nanocomposite.
코어-쉘 구조를 갖는 BaTiO<sub>3</sub>@Fe 나노섬유의 합성 및 전자파 흡수 특성

$BaTiO_3$-coated Fe nanofibers are synthesized via a three-step process. ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ nanofibers with an average diameter of approximately 200 nm are first prepared using an electrospinning process followed by a calcination step. The $BaTiO_3$ coating layer on the nanofiber is formed by a sol-gel process, and a thermal reduction process is then applied to the core-shell nanofiber to selectively reduce the ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ to Fe. The thickness of the $BaTiO_3$ shell is controlled by varying the reaction time. To evaluate the electromagnetic (EM) wave-absorbing abilities of the $BaTiO_3@Fe$ nanofiber, epoxy-based composites containing the nanofibers are fabricated. The composites show excellent EM wave absorption properties where the power loss increases to the high frequency region without any degradation. Our results demonstrate that the $BaTiO_3@Fe$ nanofibers obtained in this work are attractive candidates for electromagnetic wave absorption applications.

BACKGROUND: Changes in Korea’s agricultural soil properties were analyzed at a four-year interval from 1999 to 2002 on a national scale and used as basis for the determination of the appropriate agricultural policy on maintaining food safety and soil quality. The scope of this study ideally requires sampling thousands of paddy,greenhouse, upland and orchard land across the country,however, due to limitations in economic and manpower resources, it was deemed necessary to reduce sampling site to greenhouse soil. In this study, we try to investigate the applicability of cultivated crops as criteria for selecting representing fields in greenhouse soils.METHODS AND RESULTS: Soil samples were collected from red pepper, oriental melon, watermelon and strawberry cultivated soil. Principal components analysis (PCA) was performed on soil chemical properties of the selected fields: pH, electron conductivity (EC), available phosphate (Av-P2O5), organic matter (OM), and exchangeable cation (Ex.-K, Ca, and Mg). Soil chemical properties of oriental melon cultivated soil was separated from red pepper, watermelon, and strawberry cultivated soil on PC1 and red pepper cultivated soil was separated from watermelon cultivated soil on PC2. Position on PC1 was strongly correlated with pH, Ex.-Ca and Ex.-Mg and position on PC2 was strongly correlated with OM and Av-P2O5.CONCLUSION: The soil chemical properties of greenhouse soil was assorted amongst the different crops. Therefore,the cultivated crops as a criteria for the selection of representative field in greenhouse soil would be used in the future.
Taxonomic Study on the Subfamily Agrypninae(Coleoptera: Elateridae) in Korea

본 연구는 한국산 녹슬은방아벌레아과(방아벌레과)의 분류학적 연구를 위하여 1984년 4월부터 1986년 9월까지 경기도 수원근교와 남해안지역(해남, 완도, 목포, 남해), 강원 충북지역(춘천, 충주)과 제주도에서 채집한 표본과, 서울대학교 농과대학 및 농촌진흥청 농업기술연구소 소장표본을 분류, 동정하였다. 아울러 문헌상의 기록을 종합, 정리한 결과 2속 10종 1아종이 밝혀졌으며, 그중 3종 (Agrypnus setigera, A. miyamotoi, A. hypponicola)은 한국 미기록종으로 기재한다. Studies were carried out with specimens collected throughout the country during $1984{\sim}1986$, and preserved specimens kept in the Insect Museum within the Dept. of Agricultural Biology, College of Agriculture, Seoul Nat'l Univ., and the Dept. of Entomol., Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Suweon, Korea. As the result of this study, 10 species and 1 subspecies are presented here with a key and descriptions. Among them, 7 species and 1 subspecies are already reported by others, while the rest 3 species (Agrypnus setigera, A. miyamotoi, A. hyponicola) are reported here for the first time in Korea.
