        덕트내 요철의 단락위치 변화에 따른 열/물질전달 및 압력강하 특성 - 정렬 단락배열 요철 -

        The present study investigates the effects of various rib arrangements on heat/mass transfer in the cooling passage of gas turbine blades. A complex flow structure occurs in the cooling passage with rib turbulators which promote heat transfer on the wall. It is important to increase not only the heat transfer rates but also the uniformity of heat transfer in the cooling passage. A numerical computation is performed using a commercial code to calculate the flow structures and experiments are conducted to measure heat/mass transfer coefficients using a naphthalene sublimation technique. A square channel (50 mm $\times$ 50 mm) with rectangular ribs (4 mm $\times$ 5 mm) is used fur the stationary duct test. The experiments focus on the effects of rib arrangements and gap positions in the discrete ribs on the heat/mass transfer on the duct wall. The rib angle of attack is 60°and the rib-to-rib pitch is 32 mm, that is 8 times of the rib height. With the inclined rib angle of attack (60°), the parallel rib arrangements make a pair of counter rotating secondary flows in the cross section, but the cross rib arrangements make a single large secondary flow including a small secondary vortex. These secondary flow patterns affect significantly the heat/mass transfer on the ribbed wall. The heat/mass transfer in the parallel arrangements is 1.5 ∼2 times higher than that in the cross arrangements. However, the shifted rib arrangements change little the heat/mass transfer from the inline rib arrangements. The gap position in the discrete rib affects significantly the heat/mass transfer because a strong flow acceleration occurs locally through the gap.

        노령인구의 요추질환에 대한 수술적 치료결과의 분석

        Objective : To retrospectively analyse the surgical outcome and efficacy of the lumbar spinal surgery in sixty to older patients who failed to conservative treatments. Methods : Between July 1990 and November 1996, the authors retrospectively investigated the medical records of 46 patients who over 60 years of age at the time of surgery. The clinical severity was assessed with Prolo's grade(economic and functional). Questionnaire was sent to each patient regarding long-term effect, satisfaction, and side effects. Results : In 46 patients, 2 patients(1 case died of lung cancer, 1 case lost in follow-up) were lost. Among 44 patients (28 men, 16 women ; mean age 64 years), 22 patients underwent partial or total laminectomy, 17 spinal fusion with instruments, 2 chemonucleolysis, 2 adhesiolysis for failed back surgery syndrome, and 1 automated percutaneous lumbar discectomy. Although postoperative complications were observed in 5 patients, they were successfully managed. No deaths were documented in the perioperative periods. The average Prolo's economic and functional grade improved from 2.98 to 3.48 and 2.81 to 3.75, respectively. Conclusion : In overall, the favorable surgical outcome was obtained. This results indicated that with appropriate preoperative selections and indications, careful intraoperative monitoring, and attentive postoperative care, the surgical treatment of eldery patients for the lumbar spinal disorders, significant improvement with acceptable levels of morbidity and mortality can be achived.

        애자일 기법을 이용한 소프트웨어 분산 개발 및 평가

        본 논문에서는 글로벌 IT 업계의 현실적인 대안으로 부상하고 있는 분산 스크럼 전략과 최적화된 애자일 기법을 사용하여 애자일 소프트웨어 분산 개발 프레임워크(AFDSD)를 제안하였다. AFDSD를 미국 야후사의 카멜레온 프로젝트에 실제 적용하고 종합적인 평가를 수행한 결과, 그 성능과 만족도가 30% 이상 향상되었다. 또한, 개발 조직의 애자일 도입 수준 평가, 프로세스와 프랙티스의 민첩도 산출, 애자일 프로젝트 성공도 산출 및 이전 버전과의 생산성과 품질 비교를 수행함으로써 애자일 프로젝트에 대한 새로운 평가 모델을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 실제 성공적인 적용사례를 통해 그 효율성이 검증된 분산 애자일 전략을 반영한 소프트웨어 개발 및 평가 모델을 제공함으로써 일반 업체들이 각자의 프로젝트 환경에 맞게 변형하여 손쉽게 적용 가능하도록 하는 것이다. The Agile movement is a phenomenon that is part of the next phase of the software engineering evolution. At the same time, globally distributed software development is another trend delivering high-quality software to global users at lower costs. In this paper, Agile Framework for Distributed Software Development (AFDSD) has been suggested, and Chameleon project of Yahoo! Inc. has been implemented based on the framework. Also, the project has been evaluated by measuring Agile adoption and improvement levels, degrees of agility and agile project success, and comparing the performance and quality with the previous version. The overall performance and satisfaction with Chameleon increased by more than 30% since Agile techniques were adopted. Our objective is to highlight successful practices and suggest a framework to support adoption and evaluation of Agile techniques in a distributed environment.

        소프트웨어 글로벌화 품질관리 프레임워크 설계 및 구현

        국내 최초로 소프트웨어 글로벌화 품질관리(Globalization Quality Management, GQM) 프레임워크를 설계하고 실제 산업 현장에 적용하였다. GQM은 글로벌화 경험이 미약한 국내 소프트웨어 업체를 대상으로 글로벌화 기술 적용 결과를 국제 표준에 적합한 수준으로 끌어올리기위한 지원 및 점검을 위한 도구이다. 소프트웨어 개발 주기에 따른 체크포인트 기반의 품질관리 프로세스, 글로벌화 기술지원 모델 및 품질점검 모델로 구성된 GQM은 폭포수를 비롯한 계획주도방법론과 애자일을 포함한 반복점증방법론을 모두 지원한다. GQM에 기반하여 31개 소프트웨어 업체를 대상으로 글로벌화 수준진단을 수행하고 5점 척도로 평가한 결과, 글로벌화 역량이 2.47, 글로벌화 준비도가 2.55로 나타났다. 또한, 글로벌화 기술 도입을 위한 선결요건은 국제화 기술을 반영한 제품 설계(32.9%)와 글로벌 요구사항 분석(28%)으로 조사되었다. Software globalization is becoming more important worldwide but little is known about how globalization technologies are actually carried out in the Korean software industry. In this paper, we have designed Globalization Quality Management (GQM) framework and applied the framework to the industry domestically for the first time. GQM provides a structured and effective way for software organizations to adopt globalization practices and evaluate the results. GQM consists of three main components: 1) software quality management process, 2) globalization support model and 3) globalization assessment model. This framework also supports both plan-driven and iterative/incremental development methods. On the basis of the GQM, a survey study was conducted among software engineering professionals, gathering the data from 31 IT companies across 7 large-scale projects in Korea. The result indicate that the evaluation score for globalization capability is 2.47 and global readiness is 2.55 out of 5 points. Also It said that internationalized product design (32.9%) and global/local product requirements analysis (28%) are needed to be taken care of first.

        The present study investigates convective heat/mass transfer inside a cooling passage of rotating gas-turbine blades. The rotating duct has various types of ribs with 70° attack angle, which are attached on leading and trailing surfaces. A naphthalene sublimation technique is employed to determine detailed local heat transfer coefficients using the heat and mass transfer analogy. The present experiments employ two-surface heating conditions in the rotating duct because the exposed surfaces to hot gas stream are pressure and suction side surfaces in the middle passages of an actual gas-turbine blade. In the stationary case, parallel rib arrangement presents higher heat/mass transfer characteristic in the first pass, however, these characteristics disappear in the second pass due to the turning effects. In the rotating cases, the cross rib present less heat/mass transfer discrepancy between the leading and the trailing surfaces in the first pass. In the second pass, the heat/mass transfer characteristics present much more complex due to the combined effect of the ribs, the turning and the rotation.

        ‘사건’개념을 적용한 박물관 전시의 스토리텔링에 관한 연구

        In the modern era, perceived as the century of culture, the pure meaning of information in various medium is becoming extinct and the distinction between media and reality being faded away. Such phenomenon is called “simulracre”. Gilles Deleuze defines “simulracre” as an event that passes by momentarily. To the modern people, the museum should be sublimated into a space that reflects not only the various surroundings but also education and should be a space that can provide diverse experiences. For museum exhibit communication, storytelling is a method that can meet the need of audience and take one step forward in educational and emotion aspect. Considering such relationship, “event” can be an evidence to build a space by establishing relations with subject and determine the meaning of space. First, characteristics of event and requisite and the theoretical view of storytelling will be examined, followed by the analysis of event storytelling by selecting Holocaust Museum which attempted a new approach that has dealt with what is important to the Jews: ‘holocaust’. The purpose of this study is to identify how “event”, not remaining as an abstract term, is being present in Holocaust Museum with a new spatial perspective, and to provide the public with a different set of thinking and experience.

        Background and Objectives: Squamous cell carcinoma of retromolar tringone (RMT) is an uncommon head and neck tumor. RMT cancer has unique clinical feature and specific considerations for surgical treatment are needed but, reports on the treatment of RMT cancer are still lacking. Patients and Methods: From May 1997 to July 2004, 8 patients with histologically proven squamous cell carcinoma of the RMT were treated in Severance Hospital. Surgical excision of the primary lesion and neck dissection were performed in all patients. Reconstruction was accomplishing using several methods. Charts and other medical records were reviewed. Results: In early cases, lower cheek flap was appropriate but, mandibular swing or madibulectomy approach was appropriate in advanced cases. Reconstruction was needed in all patients and excision of mandible was needed in majority of patients. 6 patients were disease free status and one died from recurrence and one was lost to follow up. Conclusion: In treatment of RMT cancer, several surgical approach methods and reconstruction should be considered before treatment. Surgical treatment of RMT cancer may be one of a useful primary treatment modality.

        This paper describes design and implementation of a general purpose cyber educational system. In this system, there are different types of menus and services according to such user's rights as system operators, professors, assistant instructors, students. In order to keep in close contact between students and professors, provided are various services such as the official announcement, transcripts of lecture, bulletin board, Q/A corner, report box, archive of study materials, electronic mail box, memorandum including checking of one's attendance and school record. For the purpose of activating small group studies and discussion about given subject, it can organize into groups automatically and provide with debating rooms. The system is implemented by separating with both HTML design and programming part by template concept. Overload of iterative server is solved by adjust the numbers of DB servers of each service.

        HHPV (Human Papillomavirus) is a DNA virus that can cause benign lesions, genitourinary cancer, and oropharyngeal cancer by penetrating the mucous membrane and skin. It is widely known to be transmitted mainly through sexual contact. As with many viral infections, vaccines have been developed to prevent infection with HPV. Currently, in many countries, HPV vaccines are mainly used for national immunization for women to prevent diseases that traditionally occur frequently in women, especially cervical cancer. However, since the vaccination rate is relatively low, many countries are struggling with ways to increase the vaccination rate. Meanwhile, the incidence of oropharyngeal cancer caused by HPV in men has been increasing recently. In the United States, the annual number of oropharyngeal cancers in men already exceeds the number of cervical cancers in women, so HPV infection in men has emerged as a major problem. Accordingly, interest in HPV vaccination in men has also increased, and studies on the effectiveness and necessity of vaccination of both women and men compared to women alone are being actively conducted. In this paper, the evidence of HPV vaccination for men will be reviewed through previous studies, and its validity and cost-effectiveness will be analyzed to bolster the clinical usefulness of HPV vaccination for men.

        Background and Objectives: Neck metastasis is one of the most important prognostic factors in treating tonsillar cancer. Incidence and pattern of lymph node metastasis of tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma are the basic knowledge of treatment decision. Occult metastasis rate of tonsillar cancer and pattern of metastasis, failure pattern, survival were retrospectively analyzed. Patients and Methods: Seventy six patients who underwent surgery for tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma as an initial treatment from 1992 to 2004 were evaluated. Charts, imaging studies and pathologic reports were reviewed. Results: At the time of surgery, 78% of patients with tonsillar cancer had neck metastasis and 66% had multiple node metastasis. Occult neck metastasis was in 26%. There was high incidence of neck metastasis even in early stage of primary lesion. Conclusion: High incidence of lymph node metastasis was confirmed histopathologically in tonsillar cancer. All tonsillar cancer patients may need elective treatment of the neck. Tonsillar cancer had relatively good prognosis even though its neck metastasis rate is very high.
