Objective The purpose of this study is to investigate predictors of crossed cerebellar diaschisis (CCD), and the effects of CCD on functional outcomes including motor function, activities of daily living, cognitive function, and ambulation 6 months after onset in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Methods A total of 74 patients experiencing their first ICH were recruited. If the asymmetric index was more than 10% using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), a diagnosis of CCD was confirmed. Clinical factors were retrospectively assessed by reviewing medical records. Radiologic factors encompassed the concomitance of intraventricular hemorrhage, side and location of the lesion, and hemorrhage volume. Functional outcomes were evaluated using the Fugl-Meyer Assessment, the Korean version of the Mini-Mental State Examination, the Korean version of the Modified Barthel Index, and measurement of the Functional Ambulatory Category at the time of SPECT measurement and 6 months post-ICH. Results Lesion location, especially in the basal ganglia (odds ratio [OR]=6.138, p=0.011), and hemorrhagic volume (OR=1.055, p=0.046) were independent predictors for CCD according to multivariate logistic regression analysis. In addition, the presence of CCD was significantly related to the improvement in Fugl-Meyer Assessment score after 6 months (adjusted R2=0.152, p=0.036). Conclusion Lesion location and hemorrhagic volume were the predisposing factors for CCD, and the CCD was associated with poor motor recovery over 6 months in patients with hemorrhagic stroke.
12주간 마늘 추출액 섭취와 규칙적인 유산소 운동의 복합처치가 혈중지질과 항산화 기능의 변화율에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 남자 대학생을 대상으로 12주간 마늘 추출액 섭취와 규칙적인 유산소성 운동의 복합 처치 후 혈중지질과 항산화 기능의 변화율에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 있다. 총 28명을 대상으로 통제군, 유산소운동군, 마늘추출액 섭취군, 마늘과 유산소운동의 복합처치군으로 각 7명씩 무선배정하여 집단을 구성하였다. 그 결과 TC, LDL-C, HDL-C은 집단 간 변화율에서 통제집단과 비교해 유의한 차이를 보였다. MDA는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았고, SOD는 집단 간 변화율에서 복합처치 집단이 통제집단과 비교하여 유의한 증가가 나타났다. CAT는 복합처치 집단과 마늘추출액 섭취 집단에서 유의한 증가가 나타났으며, GPx는 복합처치 집단에서 유의한 증가가 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 보면, 대체적으로 마늘 추출액 섭취와 규칙적인 유산소성 운동의 복합처치 집단에서 혈중지질이 저하되고, 항산화 효소 수준에서 사전 보다 사후에 개선효과를 보인 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of 12 weeks combined treatment of garlic extracts intake and regular aerobic exercise on rate of changes of blood lipids and antioxidant function in male university students. 28 subjects were divided into control (C, n=7), aerobic exercise (E, n=7), garlic intake (G, n=7), and garlic intake + aerobic exercise (GE, n=7 ) groups. Blood lipids and antioxidant function (MDA, SOD, CAT, GPx) of all subjects were measured at 0 wk and 12 wk. TC, LDL-C, and HDL-C were significantly ameliorated within GE group, and GE group was shown that there was a significant difference of TC, LDL-C and HDL-C levels, compared with C group. MDA was shown that there was no significant difference within and between groups. However, SOD was significantly increased within GE group, and GE group was shown that there was a significant difference of SOD, compared with C group. CAT was significantly increased within GE group and G group. The increase of GPx was observed within GE group after 12 wks.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of training on physical fitness factors in male wrestlers. 16 male wrestlers were participated in this experiment. The period and frequency of training was 5 days/week for 5 months. Body composition and physical fitness factors of all subjects were measured at the point of pre-test and post-test. All data were expressed as mean and standard deviation and paired t-test also was performed to test the significant levels of differences within group by using SPSS program. Significance was set at the a=.05. The results of this study are summarized as follows: Muscle mass was significantly increased within group after experiment. Sargent jump, two hand medicine ball put, side step, Burpee test, back strength and 1RM were significantly ameliorated at post-test compared with pre-test after application of training program. But there was no significant difference in muscular endurance following experiment. Sit and reach and endurance shuttle run also were significantly increased within group. But there was no significant difference in dynamic balance following experiment. As considering the above results, we concluded that the training program at large is effective in improving the level of physical fitness factors in male wrestlers.
요부안정화 운동이 만성요통 노인여성 환자의 통증지수와 오스웨스트리 장애지수 및 일상생활체력에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of lumbar stabilization exercise on VAS, Oswestry disability index, and daily living fitness in elderly women with chronic low back pain. 20 participants (exercise group, n=10 control group, n =10) were participated in this experiment. Exercise group was given to utilizing lumbar stabilization program with the period and frequency of 40 minutes, 3 days a week for 8 weeks. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), and daily living fitness(balance, flexibility, muscular endurance, gait ability) of all subjects were measured before and after the program participation. Consequently, VAS, balance, flexibility and muscular endurance were significantly enhanced within exercise group after application of exercise program. In summary when considering the above results, we conclude that lumbar stabilization exercise may improve the level of VAS and daily living fitness in exercise participants with chronic low back pain.
걷기 및 덤벨 걷기운동이 비만 여대생의 건강관련체력과 혈중지질에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 비만 여대생을 대상으로 걷기운동 및 덤벨 걷기운동을 실시하여 건강관련체력과 혈중지질에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 18명의 연구대상자 중 6명은 통제그룹, 6명은 걷기운동그룹, 6명은 덤벨 걷기운동그룹으로 구성하였다. 운동 프로그램은 12주간 주 4회, 1일 60분을 실시하였으며, 건강관련체력과 혈중지질을 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 12.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 반복측정 이원변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 건강관련체력 중 최대산소섭취량, 체중당 최대산소섭취량, 무산소성역치, 유연성, 근육량은 12주 후 유의하게 증가하였으며, 근력, 체중, 체지방량, 체지방률, 복부지방률은 그룹과 처치기간에 따른 상호작용 효과가 유의하게 나타나 변화추이를 살펴본 결과, 운동그룹 모두 개선효과가 나타났다. 혈중지질은 TG가 그룹과 처치기간에 따른 상호작용 효과가 유의하게 나타나 변화추이를 살펴본 결과, 운동그룹 모두 개선효과가 났으나, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C은 모든 요인에서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 결론적으로 건강관련체력은 긍정적인 효과가 나타났으나, 혈중지질은 긍정적인 효과가 다소 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 향후 운동프로그램을 다양화하고 대상자와 운동 강도를 재조정하여 지속적인 걷기운동을 실시하여 보다 체계적인 연구가 요청된다. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of walking and walking with dumbbell on health-related fitness and blood lipid profiles in obese female college students. For this experiment, eighteen subjects were divided into one of three groups, control group(n=6), walking exercise group(n=6), and walking with dumbbell exercise group(n=6). Exercise program was carried out under the condition of 60 minutes /day, 4 days /week for 12weeks. Health-related fitness and blood lipids of all subjects were measured before and after they participated in 12 week program. All data were expressed as mean and standard deviation by using SPSS program, and the data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA with repeated meausre. V˙ O2max, V˙ O2max/kg and anaerobic threshold were significantly increased walking with dumbbell exercise group. Trunk flexion and soft lean mass were significantly increased within walking and walking with dumbbell exercise group. Muscle strength, body weight, fat mass, percent body fat, waist-hip ratio, TG showed significant difference in the interaction effect. 0n the other hand, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C did not produce any notable result in terms of interaction effect between the group and the test time, main effect analysis by group and time. In summary, when considering the above results, we concluded that application of walking and walking with dumbbell exercise could improve the level of health-related fitness and they could ameliorate blood lipids in obese female college students.
