A Understanding of Dietary Supplements and Functional Foods in the Occident

Dietary supplements are used by more than one-half of the adult US population. By contrast, herbal products in Germany are carefully regulated by the same standards as drugs, and efforts are under way to standardize their regulation in the entire European Union. Most herbal users do not inform their physicians that they are taking these supplements, and most physicians do not inquire. Although some herbal products have clinically proven benefits, it is increasingly apparent that many contain potentially toxic substances, particularly in relation to interactions with drugs. Hence, it is essential that practicing physicians develop a working knowledge of herbals-specifically, about claims for their usage and potential or proven efficacies and toxicities-and that they incorporate such knowledge into the evaluation and management of their patients. By contrast, functional foods-integral components of the diet that are understood to contribute added health benefits-are the subject of intense and widespread research in food and nutritional science. Examples include many polyphenolic substances, carotenoids, soy isoflavones, fish oils, and components of nuts that possess antioxidant and other properties that decrease the risk of vascular diseases and cancer. Practicing physicians are advised to stay abreast of these emerging findings in order to best advise their patients on the value of health-promoting diets in disease prevention.
블록체인 기반의 지리 공간 포인트 데이터 인덱싱을 위한 공간 LSM 트리

Blockchain technology is attracting attention for its high usability in various fields such as IOT and healthcare, and it being used as an alternative to distributed databases. Despite their high usability for blockchain, the techniques for efficiently indexing blockchain-based geospatial data have not been studied much until now. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a Spatial LSM tree indexing method that reduces the I/O cost when a block of geospatial point data is inserted into a blockchain by reflecting the write-intensive features of the blockchain. The proposed method linearizes geospatial data through Geohash on the blockchain where a large scale of real time updates occur. It also minimizes the I/O cost when range query and inserting data into the blockchain by taking the spatial proximity of the point data into account. It also proposes a spatial filter to reduce unnecessary traversal of spatial LSM tree for processing geospatial point data range queries. 블록체인 기술은 IoT, 헬스케어 등 다양한 분야에서 높은 활용도로 주목받으며, 분산 데이터 베이스에 대한 대안으로도 활용되고 있다. 블록체인에 대한 높은 활용성에도 불구하고, 블록체인 기반의 지리 공간 데이터를 효율적으로 인덱싱하는 기법은 지금까지 많은 연구가 진행되지 않았다. 이에 본 논문에서는 블록체인의 쓰기-집중적인(write-intensive) 특성을 반영하여 지리 공간 포인트 데이터의 블록을 블록체인에 삽입 시 I/O 비용을 감소시키는 공간 LSM 트리 인덱싱 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 실시간으로 대량의 업데이트가 발생하는 블록체인 상에서 지리 공간 데이터를 Geohash를 통해 선형화하고, 데이터간의 공간적 인접성을 고려하여 데이터 삽입 및 범위 질의 처리 시 I/O 비용을 최소화한다. 또한, 지리 공간 포인트 데이터 범위 질의 처리 시 공간 LSM 트리에 대한 불필요한 탐색을 줄이기 위한 공간 필터를 제안한다.
Types of Organizational Culture and Their Matched Occupations

Purpose – Organizational individuals can gain profit from any trials and errors concerning the knowledge others have been able to accumulate. The culture also states the organizational behaviors by identifying the principal aims, and the way members handle personal relationships. This study aims that how corporate cultures can be connected with particular occupations. Research design, Data, and methodology – For the systematic review in prior literature dataset, the present author used the PRISMA which is a set of items that are evidence-based and utilized in reporting systematic reviews. It includes the reporting of meta-analyses. Result – The present author figured out that corporate culture is one of the most crucial factors that workers consider in deciding whether or not they want to be employed in an organization. Having an excellent corporate culture sets the company apart from the competition and increases the company's status to new positions of recruiting and business success Conclusion – The current research concluded that possessing an excellent corporate culture positions the company apart from the competition but boosts the company to new recruiting and business success levels. The two traits of an excellent corporate culture include the culture allowing every individual in the organization to succeed, and the culture works for every individual involved.

Objectives: Allergy is an immune dysfunction caused by degranulation from mast cells in the early phase of allergic disease. The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-allergic effect of fermented Angelicae gigantis Radix in human mast cell line, HMC-1. Method: The Angelicae gigantis Radix was fermented by Lactobacillus acidophilus. The cell toxicity of fermented Angelicae gigantis Radix(FAGR) was determined by MTT assay. The release of β-hexosaminidase from HMC-1 stimulated by phorbol-12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) plus A23187 was determined by β -hexosaminidase assay. Also, the concentrations of cytokines (interleukin-1β, -6, -8 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The gene expression of COX-2 from HMC-1 stimulated by phorbol-12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) plus A23187 was determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. The release of histamine on substance P-stimulated HMC-1 was measured by histamine assay. Result: The FAGR suppressed the release of β-hexosaminidase, a marker of degranulation, from HMC-1 stimulated by PMA plus A23187. The FAGR inhibited the production of interleukin-1β, -6, -8 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha. The FAGR inhibited the expression of COX-2 mRNA. The FAGR suppressed the release of histamine on substance P-stimulated HMC-1. Conclusion: These results provide that FAGR may be beneficial in the treatment of allergic inflammatory disease.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to provide the information about Bojungikki-tang by domestic papers and theses. Method : Domestic papers related to Bojungikki-tang were reviewed and analyzed. These papers were classified by year, research method, experimental method, and subject. Result : The following results were obtained in this study. 1. The study of Bojungikki-tang started from 1984 and continued steadily. 2. The domestic papers about Bojungikki-tang were 47 volumes. Among them, there were 26 volumes since 2000. 3. Classified by research method from the year 2000, 20 experimental studies, 4 clinical experiments, and 2 documentary researches. 4. Classified by experimental method from the year 2000, 10 studies used mouse in vivo experiment and 4 studies used rat in vivo experiment and 6 studies used each cell in vitro experiment. 5. Classified by subject from the year 2000, papers related to immune enhancing effect, nerve and mental system, radiation protection effect, anti-allergy, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, remedy of diabetes, skin protection and so on. Conclusion : Many papers of experimental studies, clinical experiments and documentary researches related Bojungikki-tang are included in domestic journals. Bojungikki-tang is being researched variously in immune enhancing effect, nerve and mental system, radiation protection effect, anti-allergy, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, remedy of diabetes, skin protection and so on. However, more clinical studies on Bojungikki-tang are needed.
태양 에너지 발전 효율 증대를 위한 PVT 패널 내부 유동에 관한 실험적 연구

Renewable energy generation has increased and will increase about 10 times in 30 years. Since solar energy accounts for a significant part of renewable energy production, increase of efficiency is important. There are 2 ways to use solar energy, photovoltaic and solar thermal panel. The combination of those ways is called photo voltaic thermal (PVT) panel which simultaneously obtains electricity and thermal energy from the sun. This study deals with a PVT panel composed of a phase change material (PCM) and a heat exchanger in PV panel. The water is used as heat exchanger fluid and change in flow rate causes change in thermal energy output. In this experiment, by comparing between 30LPM and 60LPM flow rate, 60LPM flow rate results in 7.3 % high in thermal energy output.
