The vision for MPEG-21 is to define a multimedia framework to enable transparent and augmented use of multimedia resources across a wide range of networks and devices used by different communities. DIA (Digital Item Adaptation) is one of main MPEG-21 parts. DIA being composed of both resource adaptation and descriptor adaptation enables digital items (multimedia resources) to be adapted to users terminal capability and preference. In this parer, we present MPEG-21 descriptions for 3D stereoscopic video conversion. Our description tools provide a functionality of description of user characteristics and terminal capabilities. In particular, the description of users display presentation preferences supports 3D stereoscopic conversion of 2D video (2D-to-3D video conversion) as well as 2D conversion of 3D stereoscopic video (3D-to-2D video conversion) so that users can view either 2D or 3D stereoscopic video they prefer. Furthermore, we investigate the effects of the type of parallax, the range of depth, and the maximum interval of a delayed frame on the perception of 3D depth. The syntax of the descriptions and their elements is represented in XML (eXtensible Markup Language) schema, and their feasibility is examined and verified in our experiments, where MPEG test sequences are adopted for 2D-to-3D video conversion. On the contrary, ordinary stereoscopic test video is used for 3D-to-2D video conversion.

The purpose of this study is to classify traditional children games and search for its characteristics, and finally suggest the today's meanings in accordance with the category. This is done through investigating 129 kinds of games, by referring literatures connected with it, and classifying children games into nine types by the contents of the games, the developmental stages, sex, form, season, festival day, play material, place, regional group, and searching characteristics by each type. Findings are summarized as follows. Firstly, nine types of traditional children games reflect the characteristics of children play and the functions of Korean traditional games. Secondly, traditional children games make a major contribution to physical, sense of achievement, power to problem-solving the increase of creativity, and the development of intelligence, emotion, and sociability. Thirdly, the study for the category of the traditional children games is a little matter in regard to the establishment and classification of the play type. However, based on this study, it can be concluded that it's necessary to exactly recognize them and to grasp their educational, social, and cultural values in order to hand down and maintain these games.
Robustness of the Topological Properties of a Seismic Network

We investigate the novel seismic network from a singular seismic time series by considering cell resolution and temporal causality. This resultant network shows the various topological properties, such as the degree distribution, mean clustering coefficient, and small-worldness of a generic complex network. We specially examine the robustness of the topology of a seismic network against spatial shifts and scales in area.

The purpose of the present study were investigate the actual condition and counterplan of student violence and Igime in Korea. To accomplish this purpose, the present studt were set forth three research dimensions: firstly, the causes and actual condition of student violence and Igime were presented secondly, the characteristics of student violence and Igime were analyzed; lastly, diverse counterplans to reduce student violence and Igime were presented. Actually, student violence is significant problem in this industrialized society. And Igime imitated probably from Japanese student culture is prevailing problem in every kind of school - primary, middle, and high school. In brief of the present study, student violence and Igime were not restricted in juvenile delinquent, but routine behaviors. To prevent these insane behaviors, practical copying methods can be available to their teachers, parents, and adults were established in the present study.
韓國과 日本의 家庭敎育 形態에 대한 比較文化的 硏究 : 한국의 濟州道와 일본의 沖繩縣을 대상으로 on Jejudo in Korea and Okinawa in Japan

The present study was aimed to investigate the patterns of home education between Jejudo in Korea and Okinawa in Japan on the perspectives of cross-cultural viewpoint The subjects of the present study were 4718 fathers in Korea and Japan (Jejudo 2562, Okinawa 2156) who have school boys and girls. The results of the present stady were as follows: (1) Fathers in Korea were closer to 'inconsistency-discord pattern' in the rearing attitude than those of Japan. (2) Fathers in Korea had the consciousness and attitude of 'home centered-chidren centered' in the lives at home and soial activities. On the other hand, fathers in Japan had the tendency of pursuing the practical things such as stability of life and higher status. (3) Fathers in Korea had more concern to their children's school achievement than those of Japan. (4) Fathers in Korea had the positive attitude for men to take complete charge of house keeping and child-rearing than fathers in Japan. But, the level of practical performance of fathers in Korea was lower than that of fathers in Japan. (5) Fathers in Korea had stress on the strengthening of function of home education to bring up their children samely. But, fathers in Japan had stress on the social efforts to remove social environment harmful to adolescent.
