        항암화학요법 유발 말초신경병증 변증평가도구 개발을 위한 기초연구

        Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop a standard instrument of pattern identification and evaluation for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).Methods: The advisory committee for this study was organized by 12 professors of traditional Korean medicine from the Korean Association of Traditional Oncology. The items and structure of the instrument were designed based on a review of previous publications. We revised the instrument in consultation with the advisory committee and received additional advice via email.Results: We divided the symptoms and signs of CIPN into four pattern identifications: wind arthralgia (風痺), cold arthralgia (寒痺), dampness arthralgia (濕痺), and arthralgia of the deficiency type (虛痺). We obtained the mean weights to reflect the standard deviations from each symptom of the four pattern identifications, which were scored on a 5-point scale by the advisor committee. After we obtained the answers to discrimination between variable symptoms (變症) and ordinary symptoms (素症) from the 12 experts, we gained the final weight from the combination of the ratio of pattern identification to the number of total answers of the advisory committee and the mean weight.Conclusions: The Instrument on Pattern Identification and Evaluation for CIPN was developed through a discussion between 12 experts. There was a limitation that the validity and reliability of this instrument have not been proven. However, the significance of this study was that it is the first Instrument on Pattern Identification and Evaluation aimed at assessing CIPN in traditional Korean medicine.

        전자침술로 호전된 유방암 환자의 항암화학요법 유발 말초신경병증 증례보고

        Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy in breast cancer patient. Methods : The patient is a female with chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) who was diagnosed with breast cancer and suffering from paresthesia of extremities after chemotherapy of docetaxel. The patient was treated with electroacupuncture (15 minutes per one time) twice a day for 14 days. The clinical outcomes were measured by Patient Neurotoxicity Questionnaire (PNQ) grade and visual analogue scale (VAS). Results : In this case, PNQ Item 1 (numbness) grade was improved from D to C, Item 2 (weakness) grade was from C to B. The score of upper limbs VAS was decreased from 7 to 2, lower limbs was from 7 to 5 respectively. Edema of both extremities was also improved. Conclusions : This case study suggests that electroacupuncture therapy may have significant effects of CIPN in breast cancer patient.

        Enhanced photocatalytic activity of TiO2/Ca12Al14O33 in NO removal

        TiO2 supported on Ca12Al14O33 (Mayenite) was synthesized and investigated for use as a photocatalytic concrete material. TiO2/Mayenite (TiO2/M) catalysts were prepared with varying TiO2 loading amounts (1–20 wt%). The photocatalytic activity of the catalysts was measured using the ISO standard NO removal test. TiO2/M catalysts exhibited significantly enhanced photocatalytic activities compared to pure TiO2, with the NO removal efficiency increasing as TiO2 loading increased up to 10 wt% and then decreasing with further loading of TiO2. The NO removal rate of the TiO2/M catalyst, which contained 10 wt% TiO2, was 8.72 µmol (equivalent to 350 µmol/m2·h). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis suggested that oxygen on the TiO2/M catalysts with low TiO2 loading exists in the form of Ti−OH rather than TiO2. This study focuses on the formation of Ti−OH on the catalyst surface, which is promoted by the unique crystal structure of Mayenite that supplies oxygen ions and electrons to the TiO2 layer. The NO removal efficiency of the catalysts was found to be dependent on the interaction between TiO2 and Mayenite. Overall, this study demonstrates the potential of TiO2/Mayenite for use as a highly effective photocatalytic concrete material, with the unique properties of the Mayenite support playing a critical role in enhancing the photocatalytic activity of the catalyst.

        한국 영아의 Acid Steatocrit에 대한 연구

        목 적 : Acid steatocrit 방법을 이용하여 12개월까지의 정상 영아에서 생리적 지방변 배출의 감소시기와 수유방법에 따른 지방변 배출의 차이를 알아보고자 한다. 방 법: 1998년 5월부터 2001년 4월까지 건국대학교 민중병원에 내원한 환아 중 특별한 소화기질환이 없는 12개월 미만의 정상 영아 128명을 대상으로 하였다. 생후 1개월까지(79명), 1-6개월(28명), 7-12개월(21명)으로 구분하였다. 생후 1개월까지의 신생아에서는 인공영양아(46명), 모유영양아(33명)이었고 1-6개월 영아에서는 인공영양아(18명), 모유영양아(10명), 7-12개월 영아에서는 인공영양아(11명), 모유영양아(10명)으로 분류하여 각 월령별 acid steatocrit 치를 측정하였다. 결 과 : 1) 생후 1개월까지 신생아의 평균 acid steatocrit치는 $94.40{\pm}1.36%$이었고, 1-6개월 영아는 $85.02{\pm}5.98%$이었고, 7-12개월 영아는 $58.35{\pm}26.99%$로 유의하게 acid steatocrit 치가 떨어지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 2) 생후 1개월까지의 신생아에서 인공영양아의 acid steatocrit 치는 $94.98{\pm}1.36%$, 모유영양아는 $93.61{\pm}0.89%$로 유의한 차이(P=0.0066)를 보였고, 1-6개월 인공영양아의 acid steatocrit 치는 86.59${\pm}6.07%$, 모유영양아의 경우는 $82.19{\pm}4.88%$로 유의한 차이(P=0.0240)를 보였으며, 7-12개월 인공영양아는 $75.79{\pm}8.77%$, 모유영양아는 $24.25{\pm}27.44%$로 유의한 차이 (P=0.0010)를 보였다. 결 론: Acid steatocrit 방법을 이용한 영아기 지방변 측정은 생리적 지방변 배출을 검사하는 쉽고 정확한 방법으로 생각되며 향후 지방흡수장애를 보이는 환아를 진단하고 경과 및 치료의 평가시 acid steatocrit 방법이 널리 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Purpose : Steatorrhea tests have been developed using various methods. Acid steatocrit is a simple method to detect steatorrhea and has very high sensitivity and specificity. This present study was designed to establish the normal values of acid steatocrit in Korean infants and to find the difference according to the various feeding methods. Methods : Acid steatocrit tests were conducted on 128 infants who were under 12 months of age and who had non-specific gastrointestinal diseases between May 1998 and April 2001. The results were classified into neonatal ages(79 neonates), 1-6 months(28 infants), 7-12 months(21 infants). This included formula-fed(46 neonates) and human milk-fed(33 neonates), 1-6 months formula-fed (18 infants) and human milk-fed(10 infants), 7-12 months formula-fed(11 infants) and human milk-fed(10 infants). Results : The acid steatocrit values decreased by infant age in months. Acid steatocrit values decreased much more after 7 months of ages. The acid steatocrit values of human milk-fed infants were significantly lower than those of formula-fed infants. Conclusion : Our study confirms that a physiologic steatorrhea was found in the infant period and decreases by infant age of months. The acid steatocrit test might be useful for the evaluation of gastrointestinal milk fat malabsorption disorders and therapeutic effects.

        중심시야 결손 여부에 따른 녹내장시야지표의 유용성

        Purpose: To evaluate the glaucoma discrimination ability of visual field index (VFI), a new perimetric index of Humphrey field analyzer II, in glaucoma patients with central and peripheral visual field defects (VFD). Methods: Humphrey visual field test and OCT were performed in 204 glaucomatous eyes and 70 healthy eyes. The associations of VFI with mean deviation (MD), pattern standard deviation (PSD), and average retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT) were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation. The diagnostic abilities of the parameters were analyzed using the areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUROC). The AUROC were compared between MD-matched patients with central VFD (at least one point with p < 1% within the central most 16 points of 30-2 SITA standard automated visual field) and peripheral VFD (VFD beyond the central most 16 points of 30-2 SITA standard automated visual field). Results: The associations between analyzed parameters and VFI were statistically significant. The MD, RNFLT, age, intraocular pressure, and central cornea thickness were not different between the two groups (p > 0.05). The AUROC value of VFI was greater than those of the MD and average RNFLT but was not different from that of PSD (p = 0.332) in the central VFD group. However, there were no significant differences between AUROC value of VFI and those of other parameters in the peripheral VFD group (all, p > 0.05). Conclusions: The results from the present study suggest that VFI may be more useful than MD in diagnosing glaucoma, especially in patients with central VFD.
