A theoretical formula based on a newly established knit unit model of three dimensional structure has been derived in order to predict the stitch length of a sinker pile warp knit fabric. In this formula. stitch length of the fabric is expressed as the functions of wale and course spacing, yarn diameter and pile height which are usually used in the knitting mills for production and quality control. And the possibility of the modification of the existing formulas, proposed for ordinary warp knit fabrics was also discussed. Comparison of the existing theoretical values with the experimental ones revealed that the most satisfactory results were obtained from the new modified derived theoretical formula.

This study aims to find out the dimensional parameter(K) of typical double knit fabrics in fully relaxed state. We used Knapton's method and Starfish method in orders to achieve fully relaxed state of the double knit fabrics. It was found that the dimensional parameter(K) in fully relaxed double knit fabrics on Starfish method were not affected by its density and stitch length, and were kept constant, as they were in single knit fabrics. But the double knit fabrics in Knapton's method did not reach to the fully relaxed state. As result of this study, we suggest that those parameter can be successfully applied for the prediction of the dimensional change of double knit fabrics having tuck or welt stitch.

On the basis of Interlock, the application of bit, tuck and welt(interlock, royal interlock, mock royal interlock) was made by varying the density of the double hit fabrics and the mechanical properties of these fully relaxed fabrics were measured using KES-FB System. The analysis was carried out on several major characteristics in connection with density and such structures as loop configurations. The results were given as follows; 1. Interlock and Mock royal interlock stitches showed similar tendencies in bending, shear and tensile properties with the increase of MTF(Machine Tightness Factor). 2. Royal interlock gave relatively high values of bending rigidity and shear stiffless and big geometrical roughness in the direction of course. 3. The total hand value of double bitted fabrics was mainly affected by Stiffness rather than Smoothness, Sofuless and Fullness, and so the increase of MTF made the higher values of THV.
Diffractive Alignment of Dual Display Panels

Recent flat-panel displays have become increasingly complicated to facilitate multiple display functions. In particular, the form of multilayered architectures for next-generation displays makes precise three-dimensional alignment of multiple panels a challenge. In this paper, a diffractive optical alignment marker is proposed to address the problem of three-dimensional alignment of distant dual panels beyond the depth-of-focus of a vision camera. The diffractive marker is effective to analyze the positional correlation of distant dual panels. The possibility of diffractive alignment in multilayer display fabrication is testified with numerical simulation and a proof-of-concept experiment.
Studies on Compressional Phenomena of the Warp Knitted Fabrics

평면상태의 천을 다면적으로 변형시키게 되면 torsion, shell 및 plate buckling과 같은 다면성의 압축성이 동반하게 될 것이다. 이와 같은 압축력을 buckling하중이라 한다. 본 연구는 심플렉스 경편포의 압축 plate buckling하중의 이론화에 대한 연구로 편포의 특성치와 편성조건들을 인자들로 하여 코오스 및 웨일별로 실험치와 비교하면서 탄성 또는 비탄성영역별로 이론화식을 추구하였다. An attempt to estimate the compressional buckling force of simplex warp knitted fabrics is made by establishing a theoretical model of Simplex structure in terms of yarn properties and lapping tracers. Theoretical calculation is based on the assumption that plate buckling forces depend upon the two phase structures of the yarns, e.g., elastic phase and inelastic phase. The theoretical formulae for estimating the plate compressional buckling loads are derived for wale and course directions. A good correlation is nearly observed between theory and experimental results.

To the present, the stitch length of 3-stroke rib stitch has been calculated on the basis of lapping ratio derived from the needle spacing of plain stitch length. This study is carried out by obtaining a stitch length on the basis of H. Kidacki and E. Dyson's model, which is concerned with unit stitch length and needle spacing as factors. And thickness of 3-stroke rib stitch was calculated through a concept of simple elastica. The results were as follows; 1. The thickness of 3-stroke rib stitch was correlated to t=5D+β'l if non-compressibility of filament yarn was assumed and t"=D' when filament yarn were flattened by compress and flattened about 10%. 2. A stitch length could be calculated from machine gauge when the needle loop length was known and the weight of repeating unit, total run-in and yarn consumption per color etal were estimated exactly. 3. In 3-stroke rib stitch, the fractional stitch length occupied by needle loop was about 40%.

A fuzzy application method approach is described using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation matrix and weighted factor vector to predict hand. On this study, we analyzed and reformed the fuzzy relation (R) for objective evaluation of summer polyester fabric hand in Korea, and surveyed the percentage of importance about the mecahnical and physical characteristics by panels (N=30) The conjunction of A and R bring forth multifactorial equations that can be used to calculated polyester fabric hand for summer.
