        US Findings of Extensor Hood Injury in Metacarpophalangeal Joint after Acute Trauma and Corresponding MRI Findings

        Extensor hood is a structure that stabilizes the extensor tendon at the dorsal side of the metacarpophalangeal joints and keeps the tendon in place during extension and flexion of the joint. Diagnosis of Extensor hood injury of a metacarpophalangeal joint is difficult to diagnose because its clinical symptoms are nonspecific such as pain and swelling. And swelling can interfere with the accurate physical examination. So the imaging findings are important for diagnosis of extensor hood injury. Magnetic resonance image (MRI) and ultrasonography (US) are both good imaging tools. An advantage of ultrasonography is dynamic assessment of extensor tendon and extensor hood. Here, we describe a case of US findings of extensor hood injury with dynamic approach and corresponding MRI findings.

        Effects of the cathode magnetic field strength on the properties of sputtered ultrathin ITO films

        Ultrathin indium tin oxide (ITO) films 20 nm thickness were manufactured by DC magnetron sputtering for touch sensor applications. Deposition was performed at room temperature on PET substrates, with a substrate-to-target distance of 50 mm, and a power and working pressure of 100 W and 0.28 Pa, respectively. This study focused on improving the electrical properties of ultrathin ITO films, which are typically poor. So, we controlled the initial growth process of the ITO films by optimizing the cathode magnetic field strength (CMFS) (550 G, 850 G, and 1450 G). The electrical properties of the thin films were optimal at the higher CMFS (1450 G) and the surface morphology and wetting properties also improved with strengthening CMFS. This is thought to be the result of a reduction in the damage incurred on the growing film as the plasma impedance and the high-energy particle (ArO, O− ) bombardment were reduced. Improved thin film properties can therefore be achieved by reducing high energetic particle (ArO, O− ) bombardment and increasing the number of sputter atoms with appropriate energy. In other words, the cathode-voltage (VC) and cathode-current (IC) during sputtering should be carefully adjusted.

        예비유아교사의 학습몰입과 학업소진의 관계에서 주관적 안녕감의 매개효과

        The aims of this study were to identify the relationships among learning flow, subjective well-being, and academic burnout, and to examine whether subjective well-being would mediate the relationship between learning flow and academic burnout in pre-service early childhood teachers. The subjects of this study were 596 university students in early childhood education (second grade to fourth grade) in Busan; they were asked to complete a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs, and we looked at the structure and path of learning flow, subjective well-being, and academic burnout. The results were as follows: 1) pre-service early childhood teachers' learning flow and academic burnout were significantly correlated with subjective well-being, and 2) subjective well-being partially mediated the relationship between learning flow and academic burnout in pre-service early childhood teachers. This study suggests that academic burnout of these pre-service teachers may be reduced by improvements in learning flow and subjective well-being. 본 연구는 예비유아교사의 학습몰입과 주관적 안녕감, 학업소진 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 학습몰입과 학업소진 간의 관계에 있어 주관적 안녕감이 매개적 역할을 하는지를 밝히고자 수행되었다. 본 연구대상은 부산소재의 4년제 대학 2-4학년 596명이었으며, 자료분석은 SPSS 21.0과 AMOS 20.0 프로그램을 활용하여 학습몰입, 주관적 안녕감, 학업소진의 구조 및 경로를 살펴보았다. 연구결과에 따르면 첫째, 학습몰입, 주관적 안녕감, 학업소진은 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예비유아교사의 학습몰입과 학업소진의 관계에서 주관적 안녕감은 부분매개 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구결과는 예비유아교사의 학업소진을 낮출 수 있는 방안으로 학습몰입과 주관적 안녕감 증진을 위한 구체적인 방안이 이루어져야 함을 제안한다.

        우분과 볏짚의 병합 혐기성 소화를 통한 메탄 생산에 대한 고찰

        BACKGROUND: Animal manures are one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gases and improper manage-ment of animal wastes contributes to the increasing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Con-verting greenhouse gases generated from animal manures to energy is one way of contributing to the net-zero carbon emissions. METHODS AND RESULTS: The potential for methane production from cow manure (CM) was studied by meas-uring the methane yield using the biochemical methane potential (BMP) test. In particular, the effect of co-diges-tion using rice straw (RM) on the methane production was studied. The methane yields from the co-digestion of CM and RS were statistically similar to that from the mono-di-gestion of CM or RS. But there was a synergy effect at the CM:RS ratio of 1:2 and 1:1. This can be attributed to the increased C/N ratio. The changed microbial community structure with the addition of substrates (CM, RS) prob-ably led to the increase in the methane produc-tion. CONCLUSION(S): The methane production potential of the particular CM used in this study was not improved by the addition of RS as a co-substrate. The addition of sub-strates to the anaerobic sludge promoted the increase in the microbial species having synergetic relationship with methano-gens, and this can partially explain the increase in the methane production with the addition of substrates. Overall, there are needs for further studies to improve the methane yield from CM. .

        Triglyceride Is a Useful Surrogate Marker for Insulin Resistance in Korean Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

        Purpose: To evaluate lipid profiles and liver enzymes as surrogate markers used for recognizing insulin resistance in Korean women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). Materials and Methods: 458 women with PCOS were divided into two groups: non-obese with a body mass index (BMI)<25.0 kg/m2 and obese with a BMI≥25.0 kg/m2. Anthropometric measures and blood sampling for hormoneassay, liver enzymes, lipid profiles and 75 g oral glucose tolerance test were performed. Insulin resistance was defined as homeostasis model assessment of insulinresistance (HOMA-IR)≥2.5. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to compare the power of serum markers. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to evaluate the contribution of each confounding factorfor HOMA-IR. Results: In non-obese and obese groups, the ROC curve analysesdemonstrated that the best marker for insulin resistance was triglyceride (TG), with the areas under the ROC curve of 0.617 and 0.837, respectively. Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) was the significant marker for insulin resistance with areas under the ROC curve of 0.698 in obese group, but not significant in non-obese group. TG and LDL-C were significantly associated with HOMA-IR in both non-obese and obese PCOS women by multiple linear regression analysis. The optimal cut-off points of TG≥68.5 was a marker for predicting insulin resistancein non-obese PCOS patients and TG≥100.5 in obese group. Conclusion: TG can be used as a useful marker for insulin resistance in Korean women with PCOS, especially for obese patients.

        Thomas algorithms for systems of fourth-order finite difference methods

        The main objective of this paper is to develop a concrete inverse formula of the system induced by the fourth-order finite difference method for two-point boundary value problems with Robin boundary conditions. This inverse formula facilitates to make a fast algorithm for solving the problems. Our numerical results show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method, which is implemented by the Thomas algorithm.

        요가니드라 프로그램이 성인여성의 수면의 질, 불안, 우울에 미치는 효과

        급변하는 사회 속에서 정서적 건강과 수면 건강을 통해 삶의 질 향상을 위한 다양한 심리 치 료와 이완법들이 확산되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 신체적, 정서적, 정신적 이완기법인 요가니드 라가 정서적 건강과 수면 건강에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위해 서울에 거주하고 있는 성인 여성들을 모집하여 수면의 질, 불안, 우울에 미치는 효과를 살펴보았다. 실험집단은 10명으로 요가니드라 프로그램을 1시간씩 주 2회∼3회, 8주간 총 20회기를 실시하였으며, 통제집단은 8 명으로 구성하였다. 사전?사후 검사의 차이를 검증하기 위해 증분점수 독립표본 t-검증을 실 시하였다. 본 연구의 결과로는 요가니드라를 경험한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 수면의 질 이 유의미하게 증가하였으나 불안은 유의미한 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고, 실험집 단은 사전에 비해 사후에 우울이 감소하였으나, 통제집단 간에 유의미한 차이는 보이지 않았 다. 본 연구 결과의 바탕으로 요가니드라는 수면의 질을 향상시켜줌으로써 수면 건강에 도움 을 주고, 우울을 감소시켜 정서적 건강에도 도움을 줄 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.

        학제성과 연구 영향력의 상관관계에 관한 연구: 문헌정보학 분야 학술지를 대상으로

        최근 다양한 학문 분야는 대내외적 요인으로 인해 학제적 연구 흐름에 영향을 받고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구는 문헌정보학 분야를 대상으로 학제성과 연구 영향력의 상관관계를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2011년 JCR(Journal Citation Reports)의 학술지 영향력 지수 상위에 해당하는 문헌정보학 학술지 10종을 선정하여 WoS(Web of Science) 인용색인 DB에서 2006년부터 2010년까지 1,873편의 논문의 참고문헌 데이터를 대상으로 분석하였다. 동시인용 네트워크 분석과 선정된 4가지 학제성 지수를 사용하여 문헌정보학 분야의 학제적 구조를 파악하고 학제성과 연구 영향력 사이의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 문헌정보학의 학제적 구조를 제시하였으며, 학제성 지수 중 매개중심성은 학술지 영향력 지수(5년) 그리고 논문당 영향도(Article Influence Score)와 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있음이 밝혀졌다. As interdisciplinary research has been dominant in various fields, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between interdisciplinarity and research impact in the field of Library and Information Science. For a data set, ten journals ranked as the top of 2011 JCR’s in terms of JIF (Journal Impact Factor) were selected. The citation data of 1,873 articles from the ten journals were collected from the WoS during the period from 2006 to 2010. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, as network analysis was conducted to investigate the interdisciplinarity of LIS field, interdisciplinarity indicators, and research impact factors were statistically analyzed. The findings of this study confirmed the interdisciplinary knowledge structure of the LIS field as previous studies identified. More importantly, this study demonstrated that a positive correlation existed between interdisciplinarity represented as betweenness centrality and research impact.

      • 차량용 알터네이터의 가혹 주행조건에 대한 내구시험모드 개발

        차량용 알터네이터는 시동 시 엔진동력을 이용하여 배터리에 전력을 공급해주는 부품으로, 엔진의 주행 마일리지와 동일하게 장기간 동작하는 부품이다. 주행성능에 직결되는 부품임에 따라 실차의 다양한 환경에서 높은 내구성과 강건성을 확보해야 하므로 개발단계부터 충분한 검증이 이루어져야 한다. 이러한 알터네이터의 대표적인 고장현상은 작동불량(단선), 전류누설(단락), 전기적 손실(효율저하), 동작 소음이 있으며, 고장모드로는 브러시 과마모, 코일 열화 및 단선/단락, 정류기 및 전압조정기 오작동, 베어링 과마모 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 고장모드를 유발하는 환경요인 중 가혹한 동작(고속회전, 급변속)에 대한 검증 방법을 제안하였다. 내구시험모드 설계를 위하여 중대형차량의 연비시험모드(WHVC)에 대한 시험을 실시하였고, 이때의 엔진 RPM 정보를 분석하여 가혹조건에 대한 기준 정의 및 발생 빈도 등을 산출하였다. 또한, 차량 운행시간에 대한 통계치에 기반하여 동작시간을 추정하였고, 그 결과 완성차에서 요구하는 신뢰성 목표에 근거하여 내구시험모드를 개발하였다. 본 논문의 연구결과는 차량용 알터네이터의 개발단계에서 실시하는 신뢰성 시험 항목 중 과마모·과부하에 관계되는 가혹 주행조건에 대한 강건설계 검증 방법으로 활용될 수 있다.

        Additional lesions seen in magnetic resonance imaging of breast cancer patients: the role of second-look ultrasound and imaging-guided interventions

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the final outcomes of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-identified additional lesions (MRALs) in breast cancer patients and the role of second-look ultrasound (SLUS) and imaging-guided interventions. Methods: We analyzed breast cancer patients with MRALs on preoperative MRI between January and June 2012. MRALs were defined as additional lesions suspected on MRI but not suspected on mammograms or ultrasound. The malignancy rate of MRALs, MRI-based Breast Imaging Reporting and Database System (BI-RADS) category, positional relationship with the index cancer, MRI-concordant lesion visibility on SLUS, performance of imaging-guided interventions, and total mastectomy (TM) rates were evaluated for the confirmed lesions. Results: Among the 119 confirmed lesions, SLUS and imaging-guided interventions were performed in 94 (79.0%) and 82 cases (68.9%), respectively. The malignancy rate was 68.1% (81 of 119), and was significantly higher in BI-RADS 4C-5 lesions than in 4A-4B lesions (94.6% vs. 56.1%, P<0.01) and in ipsilateral same-quadrant lesions than in contralateral lesions (84.2% vs. 33.3%, P<0.01). The lesion visibility rate on SLUS was 90.4%. The malignancy rate was not significantly different according to lesion visibility on SLUS. The TM rate in the 98 cases with ipsilateral MRALs was 37.8%, while it was significantly lower in patients who underwent an imaging-guided intervention than in those who did not (27.9% vs. 54.1%, P=0.017). Conclusion: MRALs show a high probability of malignancy, especially if they are ipsilateral. SLUS and imaging-guided interventions can eliminate many unnecessary TMs.
