CuInSe2 (CIS) nanoparticles were synthesized by a solution process using copper chloride, indiumchloride and selenium as the precursors and oleic acid as the solvent. The synthesized CIS nanoparticleswere characterized by XRD, SEM-EDS, and UV–vis spectroscopy. The lattice parameters of the CISnanoparticles increased with increasing reaction temperature. The band gap energies of the CISnanoparticles ranged from 0.954 to 0.984 eV. Ga could not be incorporated into the CIS nanoparticlesregardless of high Ga concentration. The atomic ratio of Cu in the CIS nanoparticles increased withincreasing Ga content in the precursor solutions, while those of Se and In decreased.

This paper describes the possibility of evaluating and classifying arthritic pathology using the acoustical analysis of knee joint sound. Six normal subjects and 11 patients with knee problems were enrolled. Patients were divided into the 1st patient group which required an orthopeadic surgery and the 2nd patient group of osteoarthritis. During sitting and standing periods, subjects' active knee flexion and extension were monitored. Fundamental frequency, mean amplitude of pitch, jitter and shimmer were analyzed according to the position. The results demonstrate that the values of fundamental frequency, jitter and shimmer of the 2nd patient group were larger than others and changed unstably. The values of the standing position were larger than the sitting position.

본고에서는 현재 추진되고 있는 BISDN에 관한 표준화 및 기술개발 현황을 중심적으로 분석하였다. 제 I 장에서는 통신망의 BISDN으로의 진화에 대하여, 제 II 장에서는 BISDN실현을 위한 target solution인 ATM에 대하여 살펴보았으며, 또한 제 III 장에서는 최근의 CCITT SG18 서울회의 결과를 중심으로 BISDN에 관한 표준화 현황을, 제 IV 장에서는 각국에서 수행되고 있는 BISDN 프로젝트들과 기술개발의 주요내용들을 각각 분석하였다. 끝으로, 제 V 장에서는 기술개발, 표준화, 통신망계획 측면에서는 BISDN 국내추진의 중점사항들을 서술하였다.

Sn nanoparticles deposited on highly porous carbon-coated graphite were prepared as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries. Graphite was coated with carbon layer by the carbonization of sucrose with silica nanopowders. The silica nanopowders were eliminated by a NaOH solution to prepare highly porous carbon-coated graphite and thereafter, it was treated with nitric acid to modify the surface of carbon layer. Finally, Sn nanoparticles were deposited on porous carbon-coated graphite by the chemical reduction of SnCl2 at room temperature. The porous carbon layer formed by the incorporation of silica and the surface modification in acidic treatment increased the surface area of graphite and decreased the particle size of deposited Sn nanoparticles. The deposition of Sn nanoparticle enhanced initial capacity of anode in lithium-ion batteries. The porous carbon layer in Sn nanoparticle deposited on graphite led to increase higher initial capacity and longer cycling performance than bare graphite because Sn nanoparticles were strongly attached to porous carbon layer after long cycles.

This paper presents a layered image representation and coding algorithm which is based on the concept of quadtree decomposition. While mean value of the decomposed block is used as the representative and for the homogeneity test in conventional quadtree algorithms, we adopt the algorithm which uses the knee pixel of the corresponding block as the representative. The use of the knee pixel enables the proposed algorithm to be adequate for the layered image representation at various resolutions. Also it does not generate blocking artifacts without using additional post-processing. Even though the proposed algorithm is rather simple, it shows good performance in objective measure as well as subjective quality.
