Rare earth magnets with excellent magnetic properties are indispensable in the electric device, wind turbine, and e-mobility industries. The demand for the development of eco-friendly recycling techniques has increased to realize sustainable green technology, and the supply of rare earth resources, which are critical for the production of permanent magnets, are limited. Liquid metal extraction (LME), which is a type of pyrometallurgical recycling, is known to selectively extract the metal forms of rare earth elements. Although several studies have been carried out on the formation of intermetallic compounds and oxides, the effect of oxide formation on the extraction efficiency in the LME process remains unknown. In this study, microstructural and phase analyses are conducted to confirm the oxidation behavior of magnets pulverized by a jaw crusher. The LME process is performed with pulverized scrap, and extraction percentages are calculated to confirm the effect of the oxide phases on the extraction of Dy during the reaction. During the L ME process, Nd is completely extracted after 6 h, while Dy remains as Dy<sub>2</sub>Fe<sub>17</sub> and Dy-oxide. Because the decomposition rate of Dy<sub>2</sub>Fe<sub>17</sub> is faster than the reduction rate of Dy-oxide, the importance of controlling Dy-oxide on Dy extraction is confirmed.
그레이브스병과 동반된 자가면역성 갑상선 질환 관련 뇌병증 1예

자가면역성 갑상선 질환 관련 뇌병증(EAATD)은 그레이브스병이나 갑상선중독증이 발현된 하시모토병이 동반된 경우는 매우 드물다. 인지 장애 외에도 발작, 간대성 근 경련증, 보행 장애 등이 발생할 수 있고, 갑상선 기능 검사에 이상소견이 보이면 가능한 타 질환 등을 배제한 뒤 진단할 수 있다. 또한, 진단 후 치료로 스테로이드를 사용하여 인지 장애에 호전을 보인다면 더욱 진단을 확신할 수가 있다. 뇌병증의 임상 증상이 있고 갑상선 기능의 이상과 갑상선 자가항체의 증가가 동반되었다면 자가면역성 갑상선 질환 관련 뇌병증의 가능성도 의심하는 것이 중요하고 아직 본 질환에 대한 정확한 진단 기준이 없으므로 감별 질환들에 대한 적극적인검사로 확실한 배제를 통해서 진단해야 할 것으로 보인다. A patient with encephalopathy associated with autoimmune thyroid disease (EAATD), which is one of the most important differential diagnoses of treatable dementia, presents with various neurological symptoms, such as repetitive epileptic seizures, altered mental status, and cognitive dysfunction. Steroid treatment is effective for EAATD. The incidence of EAATD increases considerably with age, particularly in female patients. Most patients with EAATD have normal thyroid function test results or mild hypothyroidism. Patients with EAATD with Graves’ disease are very rarely reported. Here, we report a case of a 63-year-old woman who complained of declining cognitive ability and ataxia. She was diagnosed with EAATD accompanied by Graves’ disease. Her neurological symptoms improved after intravenous steroid administration. (Korean J Med 2016;91:197-201)
청소년의 분노에 대한 자아존중감과 탄력성의 상호작용 효과 분석

본 연구는 청소년의 분노에 대해 자아존중감과 자아탄력성이 미치는 영향과 함께 상호작용 효과를 탐색하고 분노에 대한 지도방안을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 419명의 청소년을 대상으로 분노, 자아존중감, 자아탄력성을 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 다중회귀분석과 위계적회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였고, 그결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 분노 수준은 자아탄력성의 하위요인인 감정조절과 흥미와 관심의 다양성, 자아존중감의 하위요인인 학교에서의 자아존중감이 부적 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 분노억제는 자아존중감의 하위요인인 학교에서의 자아존중감과 사회적 자아존중감, 자아탄력성의 하위요인인 감정조절이 부적 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 분노 조절은 자아탄력성의 하위요인인 감정조절과 자아존중감의 하위요인인 가정에서의 자아존중감이 정적 영향을 주었다. 넷째, 분노 수준에 대한 자아존중감과 자아탄력성의 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 분노 조절에 대한 자아존중감과 자아탄력성의 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. This study aims to investigate interaction effects of self-esteem with self-resilience on adolescents` anger and to suggest for teaching method. For research, Anger, self-esteem, self-resilience was measured to total of 419 adolescents. The collected data were analyzed by multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. The results, Firstly, anger were negatively influenced by the emotion regulation, diversity of Interests and interest, self-esteem in schools. Secondly, anger-in was negatively influenced by the self-esteem in schools, self-esteem in social, emotion regulation. Thirdly, anger-control was positively influenced by the emotion regulation, self-esteem in family. Fourthly, interaction effects of the self-esteem and self-resilience was statistically confirmed on anger. Fifthly, interaction effects of the self-esteem and self-resilience was statistically confirmed on anger-control.
Examination of Implicit Interactivity in Wiki-based Learning in University

The arrival of the Web 2.0 age, which is characterized by such key words as participation, sharing and openness, provides a learning environment in which both instructors and students can experience interactivity. In the educational area, we are particularly witnessing a growing interest in the social software like Wiki as one of the communication tools that reflects the characteristics of Web 2.0 and focuses on the interactivity with others. Based on this background, this study aims to examine into the meanings of interactivity inherent in the Wiki-based learning by studying such cases where Wiki is being used as a learning tool. For the purpose of our study, we practiced the Wiki-based learning method on the study subjects of the 17 junior students from U- University and 18 junior students from K- University during their 2009 fall semester teacher training courses. Through a comprehensive analysis of the questionnaires, interviews, Interactivity Measurement Diagram, examinations on the Wiki uses, Daily Self-reflection Records, and any other materials collected throughout the program, we could garner the following results: First, most of the students acknowledged that the use of Wiki was a useful communication means and helped promote their interactivity during their learning activities. Second, the interactivity of the Wiki-based learning was found to be more dynamic in the team-based projects or the community-based Wiki uses than in the instructor-oriented cases. Third, the Wiki-based learning is judged effective in expanding the scope of thinking and improving the learning capabilities through the collaborative knowledge-building process. The educational employment of the social software like Wiki in this web 2.0 age has great potentials for the true establishment of the learner-oriented learning environment, which has long remained at a standstill.
