        벤야민 소설론에 대한 비평적 연구 -루카치의 세계를 횡단하여

        본 논문은 발터 벤야민의 사유에 대한 ‘소설론적 관점에서의 읽기’를 시도함으로써 그간 다루어지지 않았던 학문적 논의가능성의 지평을 새롭게 개시하고, 또 기존 연구의 저변확대를 꾀하고자 하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 전방위적인 이론가이자 비평가로서의 벤야민은 그 명성에 걸맞게 한국의 인문학지형 전반에 걸쳐 많은 영향력을 미쳐왔다. 그러나 벤야민 수용 및 연구사의 궤적을 면면이 짚어보아도, 소설에 대한 이론적인 성찰만큼은 크게 다루어진 바가 없다. 문예론 역시 그의 중요한 연구와 비평적 실천의 영역이었음에도 불구하고 말이다. 무엇보다도 그 주된 혐의는 벤야민 스스로가 ‘정교하고 체계적인 소설론’을 정초하려고 시도하지 않았다는 사실에 돌려질 수가 있다. 더하여 그나마 소설에 대한 유의미한 사유를 담은 문장들 가운데서도 일부는 ‘소설을 반대하는’ 입장에서 쓰인 데 반해 나머지는 ‘소설에 대한 다분히 긍정적인’ 평가를 담고 있다는 점이, 또한 연구를 방해하는 중요한 문제가 된다고 하겠다. 본 논문은 제2장과 제3장을 할애하여 일견 양가적인 태도로 이해될 수 있는 벤야민의 두 견해를 충실하게 다룬다. 논의의 풍부함과 정교함을 더하고자 2장에서는 근현대 소설론의 대부로 손꼽히는 게오르그 루카치를 경유할 것이며, 3장에서는 벤야민 스스로의 긍정적인 평가가 담겨 있는 소설비평 텍스트들에 대한 읽기작업을 병행할 것이다. 끝으로 종장에 이르러서는 종합적 판단 하에 벤야민에게 씌워진 양가성의 혐의를 해소할 것이며, 더 나아가 벤야민 소설론의 가능성을 제안하는 데에까지 가닿게 될 것이다. This paper attempts to read the idea of Walter Benjamin from a ‘novel-theory point of view.’ It is to open up the horizon of possibility of academic debate that has not been covered in the past, and to expand the base of existing research. Benjamin, an all-round theorist and critic, has been influential in Korea's academic circle of humanities as his reputation. However, when retracing the past researches on Benjamin, it can be discovered that his theoretical reflection on novels has not much been dealt with, even though the literary theory was one of his major research and critical practice. Above all, it can be mainly attributed to the fact that Benjamin himself did not attempt to establish a ‘sophisticated and methodical novel-theory.’ In addition, some of Benjamin’s sentences containing meaningful ideas regarding novels were written as "opposition to“ novels, while the others contain "highly positive evaluations“ on novels, hindering the research. The paper devotes Chapter 2 and 3 to examine Benjamin's two perspectives that can be seen ambivalent at first. In order to add richness and sophistication to the discussion, Chapter 2 will go over Georg Lukacs, one of the master of modern and contemporary novel. In chapter 3, the paper will deal with the criticisms on novels that contain Benjamin's own positive evaluation. Finally in Chapter 4, the paper will dispel the suspicion on Benjamin of his ambivalence under comprehensive judgment, and will further suggest the possibility of Benjamin’s novel-theory.

        고등교육의 공공성과 국립대학의 역할에 대한 국민의 인식

        이 연구는 최근 들어 본격적으로 고등교육단계에서 논의되고 있는 공공성의 의미를 검토하고, 고등교육의 공공성 실현과정에서 국립대학의 역할은 어떠해야 하는지를 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 교육의 공공성이란, 국민에게 양질의 교육에 접근하도록 기회의 평등과 사회적 수익이 높은 분야를 육성할 공적 책임을 요청하는 실천적 가치이다. 대국민조사 결과, 우리나라 국민들은 국립대학이 교육 격차해소 및 인재양성과 같은 교육적 기능을 위해서라도 꼭 필요할 뿐만 아니라 사회·문화적 지역격차 해소를 위해서도 중요하다고 인식하였다. 지역의 국립대학은 학생들이 비교적 우수하고 지역 경제에 대한 기여도도 높으나, 교육 및 연구의 여건이나 역량은 수도권 주요 사립대에 비해 뒤진다고 보는 경우가 많고, 실제로 국립대학이 우리 사회에서 수행해야 하는 기능을 충분히 수행하지는 못하는 것으로 평가되고 있다. 따라서 국립대학이 교육의 공공성을 구현하기 위해서는, 등록금 인하 및 기숙사 제공 등 실질적인 교육비 부담을 축소하여 교육기회를 보장하려는 노력뿐만 아니라 교수 및 교육시설의 개선을 통해 교육의 질을 높이는 노력이 무엇보다 중요한 과제라고 할 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine the significance of publicness in the stage of higher education, and to investigate the role of national universities for realization of higher education publicness. The publicness of education is the practical value required of responsibility to provide equality of access to high quality education and to foster areas that high social returns. As a result of the study, it is recognized that national university has an important role not only reducing the educational divide and cultivating human resources, but also solving the regional gap in social, cultural sector. National universities have relatively excellent students and highly contribute to the local economy, but their conditions and capabilities of education and research are inferior to the major private universities in the metropolitan area. So it is estimated that national universities could not perform full function for social demands. Therefore, it is important to improve the quality of education through having better educational facilities as well as to reduce the economical burden such as low tuition fee and dormitory provision policy.

        집락표본자료에 대한 적합도검정과 독립성검정

        一段集落標本抽出에서 Pearson X<sup>2</sup>과 Wald統計量, 標本設計效果에 의한 修正統計量 그리고 縮小因子에 의한 修正統計量을 比較하였다. 適合度 檢定과 獨立性檢定의 경우 시뮬레이션에 의한 결과, Wald 統計量은 Pearson X<sup>2</sup>統計量과는 유의한 차이를 나타냈으나 두 개의 修正統計量과는 큰 差異가 없게 나타났다. Modified Pearson X<sup>2</sup> statistic is concerned. Moreover the four statistics(Pearson, Wald, modified sample design effects and reduction factor) are compared in one-stage sampling situation. In case of categorical of fit and independence tests for sample data above, it is shown that there is a significant behavior between Pearson X<sup>2</sup> and Wald statistic, but minor difference in modified statistics by simulation methods.

        A Case of Carbon Dioxide Poisoning from Dry Ice Inhalation

        Carbon dioxide (CO2) poisoning is rare, but its clinical features of acute exposure include cardiovascular, respiratory,neurologic and metabolic aspects. CO2 can also have a direct toxicological effect. At very high concentrations (>9%),CO2 induces respiratory depression and narcotic-like effects on the central nervous system. Especially, acute poisoning from dry ice is caused by CO2 gas inhalation and asphyxiation,and may impose excess load on the myocardium. This case was an acute CO2 poisoning from dry ice gas inhalation. In spite of an initial severe status, the male patient rapidly improved with no complications following the application of highly concentrated oxygen and fluid therapy.

        응급실에 내원한 H1N1 인플루엔자 감염 환자의 연도별 임상 특성: 일개 응급의료센터 관찰연구

        Purpose: Daegu, Korea was severely affected by pandemicand post-pandemic H1N1 infection during August 2009 toMarch 2012. The aim of this study was to analyze variousclinical characteristics of patients who visited the emergencydepartment with H1N1 infection during the first threeyears, and to compare the results for each year. We thenperformed an evaluation of the differences. Methods: The medical records of patients who visited ouremergency department and conformed to H1N1 virus infectionby conventional rRT-PCR during the pandemic wavefrom August 2009 to March 2010(wave 1) and post-pandemicwaves from August 2010 to March 2011(wave 2)and from August 2011 to March 2012(wave 3) werereviewed. A total of 986 patients (wave 1; 840, wave 2; 144,wave 3; 2) were included in this study. We analyzed theclinical characteristics, proportions of pneumonia, admissionrate, relationships with underlying medical conditions,and requirement for mechanical ventilation of the infectedpatients, and then performed a statistical evaluation of thedifferences between wave 1 and wave 2 that was severelyaffected. Results: During wave 1,840 patients, during wave 2, 144patients, and during wave 3, two patients were diagnosed asnovel influenza. Age 18-39 showed a significantly higherrate(78.7%) in the wave 1 patients group. Main clinical symptomswere cough and febrile sense in both waves. Patientswith underlying medical conditions in wave 2(97 cases,67.4%) showed a higher rate than those of wave 1(101cases, 12.0%). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder wasthe most closely related underlying disorder in wave2(18.8%). Patients requiring admission(37.5%) and ventilatorycare(6.9%) due to severe pneumonic symptoms showed asignificantly higher rate in wave 2. Only two young patientswere diagnosed as novel influenza. Both complained of mildfever and cough, which recovered spontaneously. Conclusion: Most cases of influenza A (H1N1) infectionwere uncomplicated, characterized by influenza-like symptomsand spontaneous recovery. The number of patientsshowed a marked decreased year by year, however, theseverity of clinical presentations increased in wave 2. Youngadults who did not have cross-reactive antibodies to novelinfluenza A (H1N1) from previous infection or immunizationwere dominant in wave 1. Older patients with underlyingmedical conditions were more likely to admitted and presentfatal progress in wave 1 and wave 2. Because influenzaviruses are unpredictable, continued national preparedness,flexible response, and careful monitoring are essential.

      • A Study on Torrefaction of Malt Residue

        In this study, the malt residue was torrefied. The torrefaction of malt residue was investigated in a horizontal tubular reactor under nitrogen flow at a temperature ranging from 200 to 450℃. This study presents the effects of torrefaction on the basic characteristics of malt residue. The torrefied malt residue products were characterized in terms of their energy yield, ash content and volatile fraction. The gaseous products were also analyzed. It was found that the malt residue undergoes changes in their physical and chemical properties during torrefaction. Furthermore, the energy and mass yield were found to decrease with an increase in the torrefaction temperature, whereas the higher heating value increased gradually up to 450℃ on increasing the torrefaction temperature.
