In this study, we describe the improvement of the resolution of a paper-based sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part using a low-temperature drying method to detect proline with high resolution. In the conventional paper-based sensor for detecting proline, the ninhydrin part is fabricated at room temperature, and in this process, the ninhydrin solution spreads around the ninhydrin part. Therefore, the concentration of the ninhydrin part becomes lower than that of the applied solution, lowering the resolution of the sensor. The proposed paper-based sensor better improved the sensitivity of the sensor compared to the existing sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part through drying the ninhydrin solution using a low-temperature drying method. Owing to the experiment, the intensity of the green color of the paper-based sensor with the integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at 10℃ is approximately 20% lower than the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at room temperature, indicating better sensor resolution. Therefore, the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at a high concentration could be useful for diagnosing drought.
A Study on the Functional Characterization according to the Classification of Home Robots

In this paper, we define the characteristics that intelligent home robots should have in order to be successful products and investigate how these characteristics are required in three product categories. In a previous paper, we defined six primary emotions that home robots should have and discussed the related technological characteristics. In this paper, we derive 26 secondary emotions related to the six primary emotions and use SD analysis to understand the semantic space and analyze the closeness between each primary and secondary emotion. Additionally, we predict the appropriate purchase price and activation timing for the three product categories, and conduct KANO analysis to define five additional quality characteristics along with the six emotional elements. In KANO analysis, we propose membership functions for the three basic quality characteristics to improve the rigidity of the existing evaluation table, and this attempt is expected to be a new evaluation model that reflects customers' ambiguous decision-making processes regarding product quality.
A Review for AI Speaker as interface of Home Robot

최근 홈로봇에 대한 관심이 인공지능의 발전과 함께 급증하고 있다. 단순히 대화가 가능한 로봇이 아니라 소니의 아이보와 같은 펫로봇 형태를 비롯해 교육, 엔터테인먼트, 안내, 청소와 같은 각기의 세부적인 기능에 특화되어 있는 로봇들이 속속들이 우리 앞에 나타나고 있다. 한편, 클라우드기반의 인공지능 알고리즘과 음성인식을 이용한 AI스피커가 단순히 소리를 전달하는 기능을 뛰어넘어 명령을 알아 듣고 이를 실행하거나 이에 대한 답을 제공하는 기기로 진화하고 있다. 이러한 기능의 변화는 텍스트에서 그래픽유저인터페이스로 진화된 MMI(Man-Machine Interface)의 새로운 세대를 예고하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 홈로봇의 현황과 홈로봇에 적용될 ABI(Audio Base Interface, 음성기반인터페이스)로서 AI스피커에 대해서 고찰하고 있다.
한국에서의 양극성장애와 Borna Disease Virus와의 관련성

It has been known that Borna disease virus(BDV) naturally infects horses and sheep, and causes a sporadic neurological disease. There have been many studies of the relation between this virus and human neurological and psychiatric disease, but the definite result remains uncertain, yet. Here, by using a nested reverse trancription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique in the p40 regions, we tried to demonstrate that BDV RNA was present in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of bipolar patients. In an examination of a total of 38 bipolar patients from 4 different hospitals in Taegu, Republic of Korea, BDV genomic RNA was detected in the p40 region in only one case. These data do not support an etiologic association between BDV infection and bipolar disorder in humans.
A Study on Improvement of Software Quality Capability

In software, the function and usability of the product are the top priority but the quality of the software including all of these factors is the most important factor in the life cycle of the software. Especially, the software market has grown explosively since 2002 when system intelligence has been launched in earnest, and will become a bigger market after 2020 when the fourth industrial revolution is expected to start. The use of such software will be even higher in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and it will surely be the determining factor for the completion of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Therefore, increasing the quality capability of software has become a pending issue in industry not just software. Unlike the emphasis on the importance of software, building a systematic software quality management system and a quantitative software development management system is delayed due to cost problems. Also, the perception of system users' quality of software is not analyzed accurately. In this paper, we analyze the quality characteristics of software and propose improvement of quality capability of software by comparing and analyzing cases of improving quality competitiveness of domestic and foreign companies.
