The effects of ethaverine on serotonin biosynthesis in murine mastocytoma P815 cells were investigated. Ethaverine at 2.5${\sim}$10 ${\mu}$M decreased serotonin content in a concentration-dependent manner. The IC$_{50}$ value of ethaverine was 6.1 ${\mu}$M. Ethaverine at concentrations up to 20 ${\mu}$M was not cytotoxic towards P815 cells. Under these conditions, tryptophan hydroxylase (EC 1.14.16.4; TPH), a rate-limiting enzyme in serotonin biosynthesis, was inhibited by ethaverine in P815 cells (15.3% inhibition at 7.5 ${\mu}$M), however, aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (EC 4.1.1.28) was not. These results indicate that ethaverine leads to a decrease in serotonin content by reducing TPH activity in P815 cells.

As the situation changes rapidly, it is common for public officers to create innovative behavior based on their work autonomy. In addition, a characteristics of modern public officers is that they are very sensitive to individual quality of life and well-being provided by organizations. Therefore, it is a very critical topic in public administration research because it can affect the innovative behavior of an organization depending on how these factors are used. However, the current study is still insufficient to follow the trend. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the effects of public officers’ autonomy, quality of life, and well-being on their innovative behavior. In this study, based on the positive relationship between autonomy and innovative behavior from the previous literature, the role of quality of life and well-being as a moderating variable that can increase this relationship was confirmed. As a result of analysis using a survey investigated by Korea Institute of Public Administration, it shows that public officers’ autonomy increased innovative behavior, and well-being strengthened the relationship between autonomy and innovative behavior as a moderator. On the other hand, quality of life strengthened the above relationship as a moderator, but it was not significant. This study suggests that it is necessary to increase public officials’ innovative behavior through their well-being, which is supported from the organization.
열대 및 북태평양에서 ENSO와 관련된 표층수온과 해면고도의 경년 변동성

In order to understand the variation of ENSO-related oceanic environments in the tropical and North Pacific Ocean, spatio-temporal variations of sea surface temperature anomaly (SSTA) and sea surface height anomaly (SSHA) are analyzed from distributions of complex empirical orthogonal functions (CEOF). Correlations among warm pool variation, southern oscillation index, and ocean surface currents were also examined with respect to interannual variability of the warm pool in western tropical Pacific. Spatio-temporal distributions of the first CEOF modes for SSTA and SSHA indicate that their variabilities are associated with ENSO events, which have a variance over 30% in the North Pacific. The primary reasons for their variabilities are different; SST is predominantly influenced by the change of barrier layer thickness, while SSH fluctuates with the same phase as propagation of an ENSO episode in the zonal direction. Horizontal boundary of warm pool area, which normally centered around 149oE in the tropics, seemed to be expanded to the middle and eastern tropical regions by strong zonal currents through the mature phase of an ENSO episode.
