        대구시 대중교통서비스의 접근성에 대한 환경적 형평성 분석

        본 연구는 대구시를 사례로 대중교통서비스에 대한 접근성의 차이에 따른 환경적 형평성을 분석하였다. 2005년을 기준으로 한 인구 및 주택 센서스 자료와 버스정류장 및 지하철역의 위치자료를 이용하여 GIS 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 커버리지 방법을 이용하여 대중교통서비스권을 설정하고, 맨 휘트니 U 검정을 사용하여 서비스권 내·외부의 사회경제적 특성을 비교하고 이에 대한 통계적 유의성을 검증하였다. 시 외곽에 위치한 동구, 수성구, 달서구, 북구는 다른 구들과 비교해 상대적으로 접근성이 떨어지는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 반면에 중구, 서구, 남구는 상대적으로 접근성이 좋은 것으로 분석되었다. 대구시 전체에서 남성 및 여성비율과 미성년자비율에 대해서는 환경적 불형평성이 나타나지 않았지만, 고령자비율과 기초생활수급자비율에 대해서는 환경적불형평성이 나타났다. 이러한 환경적 불형평성의 가장 주된 원인은 저소득계층이 접근성이 좋은 대로변 주거지역의 비싼 임대료나 지가를 지불할 수 없으므로 대중교통시설에서 멀리 떨어진 노후화된 불량주거지역에 거주하고 이들 중에는 고령자들이 많이 포함되어 있기 때문이다. 또한, 지역주민의 사회경제적 특성을 고려한 버스정류장과 지하철역의 설치 관련 법률이나 규정 등이 마련되어 있지 않으며, 대중교통서비스 시설의 분포에 대해 체계적인 관리가 이루어지지 않고 있기 때문이다. 본 연구는 지역주민의 사회경제적 분포특성을 고려하여 버스정류장과 지하철역을 설치하고 버스 및 지하철의 노선을 선정하는 것과 같은 대중교통정책을 수립하는데 시사점을 제시할 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the environmental equity of the accessibility to public transportation services in the city of Daegu. The 2005 census data as well as bus stop and subway station datasets were integrated for building the GIS database. Public transportation service areas were then identified by a coverage method. Mann Whitney U test was used for statistically comparing the socioeconomic characteristics over different levels of access to the public transportation services. Both Dong-gu, Suseong-gu, Dalseo-gu, and Buk-gu located outside of the city had worse accessibility than others while Jung-gu, Seo-gu, and Nam-gu had better accessibility than others. There appeared no environmental inequity pattern in terms of the percentages of men, women, and teenagers over the city of Daegu whereas there existed some environmental inequity pattern in terms of the percentages of people above the age of 65 and people below poverty line. This environmental inequity pattern would be caused by some factors. Firstly, the lower income class has tended to reside in the declined or blighted areas far away from public transportation facilities since this class can not afford to pay expensive rents and land prices around the main roads with higher accessibility. Many old people belonging to the lower income class also reside in the declined or blighted areas. Secondly, there has been no law to locate bus stops and subway stations considering residents` socioeconomic characteristics and the spatial distribution of public transportation facilities has been not managed systematically by the city government. This research would shed insight on building the public transportation policy to locate bus stops and subway stations and to select the routes of buses and subways considering the spatial distribution of residents` socioeconomic characteristics.

        공동주택단지 실외놀이환경을 주제로 한 어린이 참여디자인 프로그램의 개발과 적용

        어린이의 발달에 있어 주거환경과 어린이의 상호작용은 매우 중요하다. 우리나라의 지배적인 주거유형이 아파트로 변화하고 있지만, 성인 중심의 단지계획 관행 속에서 어린이들을 주거환경계획의 주체로 인정하기란 쉽지 않은 일이다. 본 연구는 아파트 단지의 입주자 그룹 중 유치원생을 대상으로 주거 및 놀이 환경에 대한 유아들의 인지와 요구사항을 파악할 수 있는 참여디자인 프로그램을 개발하고, 그 적용 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 유아들의 환경에 대한 인지가 일반적인 공간에서 구체적인 장소로 변화하기 시작했으며, 다양한 성격의 오픈스페이스가 연계되고 구조화되어있지 않은 열린 공간을 선호하였다는 점을 발견하였다. 또한 생활환경 속의 놀이공간을 디자인하는 프로그램은 유아들에게 다양하고 균형있는 발달기회를 제공하는 것으로 파악되었다. 이러한 분석 결과는 공동주택단지 전체를 어린이의 관점에서 재조명해야하며 시설물 위주의 어린이 놀이터에 대한 중대한 태도 변화가 필요하다 것을 의미한다. 또한 어린이들은 더 이상 환경의 수동적인 소비자가 아니라 환경을 주체적으로 인지하고 재구성하는 능동적 이용자이자 생산자로 변화할 수 있다는 가능성을 보여주었다. 주거단지 내의 생활환경을 직접 디자인하는 참여 프로그램은 어린이의 신체적, 정서적, 인지적, 언어적, 사회적 발달을 촉진할 수 있으며, 이러한 경험은 성인으로 자라는 과정 속에서 자아의 정체성과 커뮤니티의 소속감을 형성하는 데에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다. The interaction between children and their neighborhood environments is very important in their early childhood development. Children are the foremost user group in apartment complexes, but they are not considered to be stakeholders in planning and managing their own environments. Through a participatory design process with five-year-old kindergarten children, this study tries to find out how children perceive their neighborhood environment and the changes they want to make. There are three major findings in terms of the cognitive changes about their neighborhood, their preferred spaces, and the developmental aspect of participation. Findings from the participatory design process have two implications: a planning and design aspect and a pedagogical aspect. The engagement in a participatory design program can help children empower themselves as significant users and constructors of the environment. The design experiences can also help children recover and reconstruct the meaning of home and neighborhood in their childhood, and provide a platform on which to form individual identities as well as a sense of belonging to a community.

        조경교육에 있어 학습자 중심 스튜디오 수업의 쟁점

        산업사회에서 지식기반사회로의 시대적 변화에 부응하는 새로운 조경전문가의 인재상과 핵심역량에 대한 정의가 필요한 시점에서 스튜디오 교육은 조경학과 교과과정에서 실천적 전문가를 양성하기 위한 핵심적인 교육방법론이다. 본 연구는 실무현장과 대학교육의 간극을 극복할 수 있는 스튜디오 수업의 의미와 주요 쟁점을 교육학적 접근을 통해 도출하여 스튜디오 수업을 재정비하기 위한 이론적 기초를 제공하고자 하였다. 조경의 외부적, 내부적 여건 변화와 교육의 관계성을 역량을 중심으로 살펴보고, 대학교육 패러다임의 변화와 스튜디오 교육을 학습자의 관점에서 고찰하며, 조경교육의 변화를 추적하여 현재 우리나라 조경 스튜디오 수업의 현주소를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 우리나라 스튜디오 교육을 진단하기 위한 다섯 가지 쟁점을 도출하였다. 먼저 역량에 대한 총체적 접근의 필요성을 제기하였으며, 두 번째로 전체 교과과정에서 스튜디오 과목의 위상을 재정립하고 이론과목과의 연계성을 강화할 필요성을 제시하였다. 셋째, 현재 가장 활성화되어 있는 설계 스튜디오의 의미를 되짚어 학년별 차별화 전략을 도입할 필요성을 논의하였고, 네 번째로 스튜디오 방법론의 연구와 실천을 통한 실질적인 수업개선이 필요하다는 점을 제기하였다. 마지막으로 스튜디오의 현장성 강화 및 다양성 확보 전략 수립과 기반시설의 확충과 관련한 문제를 제시하였다. The knowledge-based society of the 21st century requires a new kind of professional. Studio education has been the core pedagogical method to bridge the practical world and higher education in the field of landscape architecture. However, it is questioned whether studio classes have truly been performed from the learners' perspectives to solidify the competencies to meet the demands of the changing society. This study tries to draw key issues related to studio pedagogy in order to make a foundation for the improvement of studio classes in landscape architectural education. Five issues regarding landscape architectural studio education have been suggested through the literature review of three categories: the core competencies required for the future professionals, the pedagogical paradigm shift, and the changes along the evolution of landscape professions and curricula. The first issue is suggested as to approach the competencies from the holistic and systematic approach to define landscape architectural professionals for the 21st century. Second, studio classes should be redefined in the context of an entire curriculum, and, as a consequence, the linkage among the individual courses is found to be important. Third, design studio classes need to be restructured to have differentiated pedagogical objectives for the development of the learning phase. Fourth, it becomes crucial to research the pedagogical methodology and the reflective actions of instructors. Finally, it is required to think about what it means to be practical in the context of studio classes and the enhancement of educational infrastructure for the studio classes is to be important.

        브리지 파크 국제설계경기에 나타난 현대 조경설계의 경향

        A deserted town once vibrant with active commercial activities around a railroad station now tries to find a way to escape from depression and revive its life with a renewed civic pride. An open space adjacent to the Main Street, the commercial district of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, is waiting to be transformed and reconfigured to be a new ecological park to boost the economy of the community. Bridge Park is 26-acre land abutting the Cape Cod Canal with a railroad bridge as a backdrop. The existing condition of the site with a small salt marsh, woodland, lawn, and the vestige of old railroad easement along with the proximity to the commercial district poses an interesting question of how to make a medium scaled ecological park within an urban context. This paper examines the winning design proposals for the Bridge Park submitted to the International Design Competition held in April, 2005. Six winning proposals were introduced and discussed in terms of categories related to the trend of contemporary landscape design such as; 1) ecological ordinariness and geometric figures, 2) topography and spatial imagination, 3) minimal programs and open put 4) time and process oriented design, 5) park and economic effects and 6) diagrammatic plan and photo montage. Bridge Park Design Competition confirms the complex characteristics representing the contemporary landscape design overcoming the dichotomy between nature and culture and the 'pastoral ecological design' and 'landscape as an art'. The Park becomes the activating agent for the community rejecting the conventional and passive role as a romantic picturesque landscape. Bridge Park International Design Competition is a meaningful event to test the idea of new ecological urban park, and to fine-tune the trend of the contemporary urban park design.

        프로젝트 기반 수업으로서의 조경설계 교과목 수업계획서 분석과 개선방안

        조경교육의 핵심인 설계 교과목의 설계도라고 볼 수 있는 수업계획서는 교육의 목표와 내용, 방법과 효과를 진단할 수 있는 중요한 매체이다. 본 연구는 국내 4년제 대학의 2, 3학년 수준 조경설계 교과목의 수업계획서를 분석하여 설계교육의 현 실태를 진단하고 이를 기반으로 개선방향을 제시하였다. 첫째, 교수와 학생 사이의 계약서이자 학습활동 과정의 설계도와 학습 도구로서의 수업계획서 기능 제고가 절실하다. 둘째, 수업계획서에서 담아야하는 정보의 양을 늘리고 서술의 구체성을 높여 학습자의 수업에 대한 이해도를 증진시켜야 한다. 셋째, 스튜디오 수업의 특수성을 반영할 수 있는 수업계획서의 세부 항목 개발과 상세한 서술이 필요하며 타 과목과의 관련성 속에서 설계스튜디오의 통합적 측면을 조망해줄 필요가 있다. 넷째, 설계수업의 특수성을 고려하여 전통적인 텍스트 중심 외의 다양한 수업 매체와 온라인 방식의 도입을 통해 쌍방향 소통 수업에 대한 고민이 필요하다. 다섯째, 수업계획서 구성 요소들 간의 상호 연관성을 강화해야 한다. 특히 수업목표와 평가기준간의 관련성, 교재 및 참고문헌과 주차별 수업활동과의 관련성이 구체적으로 제시될 필요가 있다. 마지막으로, 학생들이 공감할 수 있는 평가 기준을 상세하게 제시하고, 다양한 평가 방법을 도입하여 평가의 공정성과 투명성을 제고해야 한다. A syllabus can be considered to be a masterplan for good educational results. This study tries to diagnose the current status of landscape architectural design education and suggest improvement strategies for better landscape design courses through the analysis of the syllabi of mid-level landscape design studio classes collected from the four-year undergraduate programs. The findings and suggestions are as follows. First, it is necessary to take advantage of a syllabus as a contract as well as a plan and a learning tool. Second, it is crucial to make more detailed statement from the perspectives of learners. Third, more customized components for design courses should be developed; the syllabus should give the structure of a design class as an integration and synthesis of other courses. Fourth, it is necessary to increase the interrelationship and relevance among the components, especially between course objectives and evaluation criteria, and course activities and references. Fifth, a syllabus needs to function as a communication tool in a flexible manner. Sixth, a syllabus needs to give a comprehensive information about the site and the design project. Finally, instructors need to introduce a set of detailed evaluation rubrics or criteria acceptable to students in order to increase the fairness and transparency of the evaluation.

        국가대표 선수 훈련원 마스터플랜 설계경기 조경계획

        As the national interest in sports has been increased over time, sports facilities and sports complex are considered more than just physical environments for training athletes or watching games. Sports facilities now become symbolic spatial devices to represent the national and cultural pride of any countries. The existing national training camp located in Taenung, Seoul is gotting outdated and degraded. The polluted air in the city risks athletes' health condition. The government planned to construct the second training camp at Jincheon, Chungbuk at the area of $2,171,910m^2$. The Korea Sports Council called for proposals to envision the future training camp, and they held a design competition from August to November, 2005. The first phase was to present the masterplan for the entire site including training buildings, outdoor training facilities, dormitories, a visitor center, a research center, education and administration buildings. Considering the size of the site, the planning process required a strong relationship between landscape and architecture. This study tries to provide general explanations on the winning proposal focused on the landscape-related issues. It also attempts to have reference points for contemporary planning and design issues to situate the project in the stream of continuing design effort to avoid the dichotomy between nature and culture. The landscape proposal for the new national taming camp suggests four main strategies; 1) The camp has two intersecting and interweaving parks which represent the natural and urban order. 2) The entire site is organized and networked by the flow of landscape called landscape ribbon in terms of topography, vegetation, and water flow. 3) The landscape is choreographed through the time and process. 4) The ecological process and the digital contents are juxtaposed in the landscape. This winning proposal is the first step to portray the national vision for the sustainable environment coexisting with sports industry. Landscape in this proposal is an active agent to network various parts of the site which enables landscape to be infrastructure. Landscape design in this proposal should be considered open-ended strategies rather than determined concrete forms and its engaging further development will be tested in following Design-Build phase.

        랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 관점으로 본 춘천 G5 국제설계경기 출품작 분석

        A city evolves over time. It grows, transforms, and sometimes degrades. Chuncheon is at a turning point from a city souggling with regulations regarding clean water supply and a military encampment to a masterpiece city with a sustainable vision. The city is getting ready to restructure itself to become a world-famous culture and tourism complex expanding its physical boundary across the Camp Page site and absorbing Jungdo as a major tourist attraction. The landscape in the future blueprint of Chuncheon will play a great role in restructuring urban form. The regenerated in will have a new networked open space system as well as re-evaluated landscape resources. The hybrid theoretical practice called 'landscape urbanism' burgeoning in the fields between 'landscape architecture' and 'urbanism' can guide us in considering the terms of the relationship between a city and landscape when we design a future city Landscape urbanism is considered to be an effective framework by which we can diagnose the current status of a landscape in our contemporary urban design practice in Korea. This paper tries to provide a different perspective from the viewpoint of landscape urbanism to decipher the hidden implications of the social agreement on the role of landscape in urban structure by re-reading eight design proposals presented for the ChunCheon G5 international design competition based on the main principles of landscape urbanism. The G5 design competition is a great opportunity to test out new ideas on a city, demonstrating the relative values among various urban-design professional realms. First, this paper provides an overview of the main ideas of landscape urbanism based on the literature review and case studies. Second, framework categories are suggested in order to extract the explicit and implicit ideas on the landscape. Third, eight proposals are reviewed according to the suggested categories to situate the current landscape design of Korea within the mainstream of contemporary practice of landscape urbanism. Based on the review of eight proposals, the following diagnostic conclusions are made; first, the ideas of landscape urbanism have not been actively introduced in large-scaled urban landscape projects in Korea like Chuncheon G5. Second, it remains to be a big task for landscape professions to be able to participate in design consortiums on an equal footing. Third, In order to introduce and reify the ideas of landscape urbanism in Korea, it is inevitable and critical to test the ideas in both academic fields and professional practices to find the appropriately adjusted model of landscape urbanism.

        생태공원의 조성과 운영 내실화를 위한 법제적 개선 방향

        Despite the increasing importance of urban parks' ecological functions in dealing with the climate crisis, ecological parks are not clearly defined in Korea's legal system. Numerous ecological parks created nationwide cannot be systematically designated and managed due to various legal bases and varying management authorities. It is important to clarify the legal status of ecological parks in order to lead the ecological paradigm shift of urban parks and to improve the natural park system for a comprehensive and integrated approach to protect the national ecosystem. To this end, related laws were analyzed to identify problems and to draw directions for legislative improvement. Through the literature review of relevant laws, acts, and ordinances, six major directions for improvement were suggested based on the analysis of problems. First, the legal status of ecological parks in the administrative dichotomy of the current park system is ambiguous, and ecological parks should be clarified through the revision of park-related laws. Second, an ecological park can be defined as a sustainable park created and managed in an ecological manner, promoting the protection and restoration of the ecosystem, conservation, and promotion of biodiversity, and balancing nature observation, ecological learning, and leisure activities. Third, the role of the state and local governments should be systematically revised to lead to a new park planning and management model through new governance. Fourth, since the characteristics of ecological parks are affected by individual laws, the possibility of overlapping ecological parks for other uses should be allowed. Fifth, detailed guidelines and standard ordinances need to be enacted to meet the goals, principles, and facilities of ecological parks. Lastly, along with the revision of the laws, ordinances by local governments also need to be more concrete. This study, which tracks various legal realities related to ecological parks, can contribute to policymaking that can systematize the foundation for the creation of ecological parks to preserve nationwide ecosystems and provide citizens with opportunities to experience and learn about nature.

        조경설계 스튜디오 교육에 대한 학생들의 인식

        본 연구는 조경설계 수업 전반에 대한 학생들의 인식을 조사하고, 설계수업 개선을 위한 방향을 도출하고자하였다. 본 연구는 점차로 대학교육이 절대적인 지식을 전달하는 실증주의적 배경으로부터 학생들 스스로가 지식을 구축해가는 구성주의적 교육방법으로 진화해야 한다는 가정을 둔다. 학생들이 설계수업을 어떻게 경험하고, 느끼고, 이해하고, 평가하고 있는지를 이해하는 것은 이러한 구성주의 철학과 관점을 바탕으로 설계수업을 개선하기 위한 첫 번째 단계이다. 본 연구에서는 설계 스튜디오 교육에 대한 이론적 연구로 교육철학의 변화, 스튜디오 수업의 기원과 변화, 건축분야의 설계 교육의 변화, 그리고 조경교육에 있어서 설계교육에 대한 논의를 고찰하였다. 이를 바탕으로 네 개 대학의 학부생을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사의 내용을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 설계수업은 학생들이 조경설계가로서의 진로를 결정하는데 긍정적 혹은 부정적 영향을 행사하는 것으로 나타났다. 절반 정도의 학생들은 설계수업에 대해 불만을 표시하였으며, 상당한 심적 부담감을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 설계과정의 초기단계와 개념을 구체화하는 단계에서 가장 많은 스트레스를 받는 것으로 분석되었고, 진로에 대한 유보적인 집단이 설계수업에 대한 심적 부담감이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 학생들은 스스로의 설계능력에 대해 부정적으로 평가하고 있었으며, 성적이 학생들의 설계능력을 잘 반영해준다고 강하게 믿지 않는 것으로 나타나, 보다 투명한 평가체계에 대한 고민이 이어져야함을 시사한다. This study investigates how students perceive landscape design studio classes and provides basic data to set guidelines for future student-oriented pedagogical strategies in landscape architectural design education. This study is based on the premise that the current dominant educational method, which is based on positivism, should shift to a constructivist approach, which allows students to question objective and absolute truths and restructure knowledge based on their own experiences. Unlike lecture-oriented classes, studio education relies heavily on the perceptions, attitudes, and capabilities of individual students because the nature of the class asks each student to find solutions to given project problems in creative and visual ways. Therefore, it is important to understand the psychological state of students during these classes in order to set alternative criteria for design studio education. This study contains three parts. The first part reviews theoretical discourses to understand the demands for a student-oriented educational paradigm shift and the nature of the design studio at many levels. The second part analyzes how students perceive design studio classes in terms of their satisfaction and stress levels and how studio classes affect their decision making regarding future careers. The stress levels accompanying the design process are also investigated, based on a survey of undergraduate students who are enrolled in the landscape architecture programs of four universities in Korea. According to the findings, design studio classes play a specific role in students' decision making about their future careers. Almost half of students turn out to be dissatisfied with their design education, and half of students suffer from high stress levels caused by studio classes, especially in the early phases of the design process. The findings suggest that instructors should give more attention to discovering ways to help students initiate the design process and bridge ideas and forms, provide clear guidelines for evaluation of students' abilities, and develop a more holistic approach in design studio classes that is based on individual problem-solving processes.
