하이드로탈사이트(Hydrotalcite)형 물질로도 알려진 이중층 수산화물 구조체(Layered Double Hydroxide; LDH)는 평면 구조의 음이온성 점토의 한 종류로서 양이온 층과 이온교환이 가능한 음이온의 이중층으로 구성되어있다. 최근들어 LDH 구조체가 다양한 종류의 금속의 도입과 조성의 변화가 가능하여 흡착제와 불균일계 촉매 및 전 구체로의 활용 방안이 대두되어 큰 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고활성 나노 촉매의 설계 및 제조를 위하여 이중 층 수산화물 구조체를 촉매의 지지체와 전구체로 활용하는 방법을 소개하고 천연가스 전환 공정과 환경분야에서 촉매로서의 적용 사례에 대하여 간단하게 고찰하고자 한다.
국민건강영양조사 자료를 활용한 혈 중 납과 카드뮴의 고혈압과의 관련성

Objective: A significant association between blood lead levels and hypertension has been reported in many studies. The relationship between cadmium and hypertension has been debated as well. We aimed to study the association of lead, cadmium, and both with hypertension in the Korean general population. Methods: We examined 5,967 adult men and 6,074 women who participated in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey III-VI (2005, 2008-2013 years). Logistic regression models were used to examine the relationship between blood lead concentration and blood cadmium concentration and hypertension using log-transformed blood lead and cadmium concentrations as independent variables after covariate adjustment. Results: Adjusted for general characteristics, the odds ratio of log-lead to hypertension was 2.71 (1.82-4.03), and log-cadmium to hypertension was 2.52 (1.83-3.47). Estimates were found to be statistically significant (p<0.001). When a multiple logistic model was applied, the odds ratio of log-lead and log-cadmium for hypertension were 2.24 (1.50-3.36) and 2.24 (1.62-3.10), respectively. The standardized estimate coefficients of log-lead and log-cadmium for hypertension were 4.77 and 6.65, respectively. Conclusion: We observed the association of blood lead concentration, blood cadmium concentration, and both with hypertension. This study suggests that exposure to lead and exposure to cadmium are both risk factors for hypertension.
한국인 정신분열병환자에서 MTHFR 유전자의 단일 염기 다형성인 C677T와 A1298C의 연관성 분석

Objectives: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) plays an important role in folate metabolism, and the C677T and A1298C single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) of the MTHFR gene may be associated with schizophrenia. The relationship between MTHFR SNPs and schizophrenia is unclear in Korean schizophrenic patients. The purpose in this study was to determine the association between the MTHFR gene SNPs and schizophrenia in Korean patients. Methods: Three hundred and sixty six patients with schizophrenia and 359 normal control subjects were used to identify the SNPs. Genetic analysis was carried out in the C677T and A1298C SNP regions using the SNP-IT™ assay. The allele, genotype and haplotype frequencies were compared between the two groups. The subgroups were divided on the basis of the onset age, and the allele frequencies and genotype frequencies were individually compared among the subgroups. Results: Gene variation of the MTHFR C677T and A1298C SNPs did not show significant differences between the schizophrenic patients and controls. In addition, no association between their SNPs and the onset age of schizophrenia was found. Conclusion: A genetic association between the C677T and A1298C SNPs on the MTHFR gene and Korean schizophrenic patients was not found in this study.
