        Gastrodia elata Blume Attenuates 2, 4-Dinitrochlorobenzene-induced Atopic Dermatitis-like Skin Lesions in Balb/c Mice and SD Rats

        Gastrodia elata Blume is a well-known kind of natural products used as a folk medicine for thousands of years. However, anti-atopic dermatitis-like effects of G. elata Blume had not been evaluated until now. The aim of the present study is to investigate the protective effects of water extract from the roots of G. elata Blume (GE) on 2, 4-dinitrochlorobenzene-induced atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions using balb/c mice. Combination treatment of GE (at a dose of 12.5 mg/kg body weight by administrated per os + 0.5 mg/cm2 as ointment to apply on ear and dorsal skin) was significantly inhibited spleen weight, ear thickness, levels of serum immunoglobulin E and number of mast cells, compared with that of 2, 4-dinitrochlorobenzene-included groups without GE. Furthermore, combination application by oral administration plus by ointment of GE significantly inhibited the histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells. These results suggest that combination treatment of oral administration plus ointment form of GE could be helpful as a potentially natural pharmaceutical treatment on atopic-like dermatitis.

        청소년이 지각한 부모 양육태도와 사이버 비행의 관계에서 또래애착의 매개효과

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of peer attachment in the relationship between adolescents' perceived parenting attitudes and cyber delinquency. To achieve this aim, a survey was conducted with 292 middle and high school adolescents. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis, Process Macro 4.0 and indirect effect estimation through bootstrapping, following the method proposed by Preacher & Hayes(2008). The results are as follows: Firstly, adolescents' perceived parental affection-hostile and autonomous-controlled attitudes were positively correlated with peer attachment, indicating a significant association. Moreover, parental affection-hostile attitudes and peer attachment were negatively correlated with cyber delinquency. However, there was no significant relationship found between parental autonomous-controlled attitudes and cyber delinquency. Secondly, the study confirmed the partial mediating effect of peer attachment in the relationship between adolescents' perceived parental affection-hostile attitudes and cyber delinquency. In other words, adolescents' perception of their parents' affectionate parenting attitudes and peer attachment had a positive impact on reducing cyber delinquency. These findings can serve as important foundational data for developing counseling programs for adolescents and parent education programs aimed at prevention and intervention of cyber delinquency among adolescents. 본 연구의 목적은 청소년이 지각한 부모 양육태도와 사이버 비행의 관계에서 또래애착의 매개효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중ㆍ고등학교 청소년 292명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 Pearson 상관분석, 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 Process Macro 4.0과 부트스트래핑을 활용한 간접효과 추정 방식(Preacher & Hayes, 2008)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년이 지각한 부모의 애정-적대 양육태도, 자율-통제 양육태도와 또래애착은 정적상관을 보였으며 부모의 애정-적대 양육태도와 또래애착은 사이버 비행과 부적상관을 나타내었다. 부모의 자율-통제와 사이버 비행 간에는 유의미한 관계가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 청소년이 지각한 부모의 애정-적대 양육태도와 사이버 비행 간의 관계에서 또래애착의 부분 매개효과를 확인하였다. 즉, 청소년의 지각된 부모의 애정적인 양육태도와 또래애착은 사이버 비행을 개선하는데 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 청소년의 사이버 비행에 대한 예방 및 개입을 위한 청소년 상담 및 부모교육 프로그램 개발에 중요한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

        Effects of Lycium chinense Miller Fruit and its Constituent Betaine on Immunomodulation in Balb/c Mice

        BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to investigate theeffects of Lycium chinense Miller fruit and itsrepresentative constituent betaine on reduction ofimmobility time and blood parameters in balb/c mice. METHODS AND RESULTS: We investigated theimmobility time and the changes in aspects of bloodbiochemical parameters by the administration of L. chinense Miller fruit and its representative constituentbetaine, after the forced swimming test. The immobilitytime was significantly reduced about 41.3% and 53.6%,respectively, in the animal of L. chinense Miller fruit and itsrepresentative constituent betaine-administrated group for7 days, in comparison with that of the control group. Thelevel of blood urea nitrogen was significantly decreased inL. chinense Miller fruit and its representative constituentbetaine-treated group compared with the control group (P <0.05), respectively. In addition, the interlukin-2 levels ofmice in L. chinense Miller fruit and betaine treated groupwas increased compared with the control group. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that L. chinenseMiller fruit and betaine might be helpful in the immunefunction improvement, enhance physical stamina, andfatigue recovery.

        Immune-enhancing effect of Acanthopanax Koreanum and its component, Eleutheroside E on the protein-energy malnourished C57bl/6 mice

        Acanthopanax Koreanum stem (AK) has been used in Korea as a tonic and sedative as well as a drug with ginseng like activities. The purpose of our present study was to investigate the effects of AK extract (AKE) and Eleutheroside E, major component of AKE on an exacerbated immune function through utilization of protein-energy malnutrition (PEM) diet by using forced swimming test (FST). The immobility time were significantly decreased in the AKE or Eleutheroside E-administrated group compared with the control group on the FST (P < 0.05). The level of blood parameters were not changed significantly. PEM-induced weight loss of mice was reduced by oral administration of 500 mg/kg AKE. AKE oral administration improved the nutritional status such as the food efficiency ratio and the adrenal gland weight. AKE treatment significantly increased the production of interferon (IFN)-γ compared with unstimulated splenocytes but not interleukin (IL)-4. Eleutheroside E also significantly increased the IFN-γ production but not IL-2 and IL-4 in T cell line, MOLT-4 cells. These results suggest that AKE and Eleutheroside E may influence to immune-enhancing through increasing the physical endurance capacity and immune cell activation.

        오프로드 자율주행을 위한 딥러닝 기반 의미론적 분할 모델 비교

        현재 자율주행 기술은 도심에서 다니는 일반 차량에 대하여 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 그에 반해 비포장도로의 자율주행에 대한 연구는 복잡한 지형, 불규칙한 주행조건과 같은 제약들로 인하여 더 많은 노력을 필요로 한다. 본 논문은 다양한 딥러닝 기반의 의미론적 분할네트워크들을 활용하여 오프로드 환경에서의 주행가능 영역을 판별하고 성능을 비교한다. 기존 자율주행 연구에 활용되는 데이터셋과는 달리, 본 연구에서는 오프로드 환경을 반영한Rellis-3D 데이터셋을 타겟으로 한다. 주어진 데이터셋에 대해 해당 모델들의 성능을 비교하고 평가하기 위해서 Intersection over Union(IoU)와 Flops Per IoU (FPI)을 평가 기준치로사용한다. 이를 통해 오프로드 환경에서의 주행가능영역을 판별하는 데 가장 효율적인 네트워크를 선정한다. In self-driving, technology is being actively researched for general vehicles runningin the city. On the other hand, research on self-driving on unpaved roads requiresmore effort due to limitations such as complex terrain and irregular drivingconditions. This paper uses various deep learning-based semantic segmentationnetworks to determine the traversable area in an off-road environment and comparetheir performance. Unlike datasets used in existing autonomous driving research,this study targets the Rellis-3D dataset that reflects off-road environments. Intersection over Union (IoU) and Flops Per IoU (FPI) are used as evaluationcriteria to compare and evaluate the performance of the models for a given dataset. Through this, the most efficient network is selected to determine the drivable areain an off-road environment.
