There are continuous cases of fire expansion due to fire door problems around the world, including the 2010 Shanghai Apartment Fire, the 2017 Grenfell Tower Fire in England, and the 2020 Ul-san Residential and Commercial Complex Fire. In order to prevent such fire damage, the country has strengthened the performance standards of fire doors, and recently, efforts have been made to ensure the best performance of fire doors by introducing a quality recognition system. Securing the performance of fire doors is a very important aspect. However, there is a concern that old fire doors may not function normally in the event of fire due to natural deterioration, corrosion, and damage during the use process, but countermeasures are insufficient. Therefore, from a management perspective, it is very important to maintain fire doors and secure an appropriate replacement time. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine whether the fire door has durability to prevent fire spread in the process of use through operation probability analysis and expert surveys, and to propose an appropriate useful life of the fire door.

This study aims to establish a methodology for rational fire risk assessment for building evacuation safety in case of fire, and specifically, to propose a fire risk assessment technique using fire scenarios considering various uncertain factors in case of fire. In order to analyze the extent to which the assumed conditions can occur, that is, the probability of each accident caused by fire, the safety rate is analyzed according to the presence or absence of each factor by using fire statistics. Factors related to the fire protection performance and evacuation ability of buildings are defined as disaster factors. In this study, disaster factors were classified into the following three categories.

The purpose of this study is to find out the failure conditions of fire doors in the process of use and prepare maintenance measures against them and find out the failure conditions and failure rates of fire doors according to the period of use of buildings. According to a survey of the failure rate and failure factor of fire doors, the failure rate of fire doors under 5 years was 3.7%, 13.4% of fire doors under 5 years and 10 years, and 14.8% of fire doors under 15 years and 27.6% of fire doors over 20 years. In particular, 15 years later, the failure rate of fire doors exceeded 20%. The main defects were found to be natural aging, holes, opening and closing failures, gaps, and failure and wear of accessories such as gaskets and door closers.

This paper presents the structural behavior of fire damaged RC column with polypropylene fiber. When high-strength concrete is exposed to high temperature, spalling is occurred then it leads to decrease the capacity of members. Polypropylene fiber is used to reduce the spalling of the specimens and the distinction in the behavior after fire is observed. For this study, specimens are subjected to the standard ISO 834 fire curve. Main experimental parameters were the ratio of the contained polypropylene fiber, heating time and type of loading. Reduction rate in residual strength and stiffness is observed for the mixing of these parameters.

최근 건축물의 초고층화에 따른 커튼월 시공에 따라 유리의 비중이 증가하고 있다. 커튼월 구조는 바람, 지진 등에 취약하며, 화재 안전성에 있어서도 취약할 것이라 판단되므로, 국내외 건축용 유리 및 커튼월의 안전기준에 대한 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 국내의 유리 기준은 단열 및 내풍압 성능에만 집중되어있으며, 화재 및 지진, 안전성능에 대한 기준이 미비하며, 커튼월에 대한 안전대책은 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 외국의 사례와 같이 초고층에서 커튼월의 안전성능을 고려한 설계프로세스나 안전 기준의 세부화가 필요하다고 판단된다.

The number of fires in the Korean distribution warehouse increased by about 350 from 1,070 in 2014 to 1,416 in 2020. In addition, the fire load increases with the scale of the distribution warehouse, and even if the automatic sprinkler operates, there is a limit to the direct intrusion of the water source into the ignition source, and the detector is often installed on a high ceiling. The sensing time is often delayed. In order to improve the fire safety of such distribution warehouses, the US NFPA stipulates in detail the contents related to the facility, such as sprinkler water discharge standards, rack-type warehouse installation height restrictions, and regulations on collection and equipment. However, in Japan, the goods loaded inside the distribution warehouse are not classified in detail, and it is considered that the fire safety for the distribution warehouse is low due to the relaxation regulations of the fire prevention section. Therefore, in this study, common problems are classified into material, spatial, and safety management characteristics through the cases of distribution warehouse fires that occurred in Korea and abroad, and the problems related to distribution warehouses in Korea and abroad are compared and analyzed. And present basic materials for improving the life safety standards of future distribution warehouse facilities.
