        Circumscribed solitary pulmonary nodule is often founded on the plain chest P-A. Even if many study results of coin lesion have been reported by some scholars, it is still very difficult to judge whether the coin lesion is to be benign or malignant. In order to avoid unnecessary surgical treatment, it must be made an examination and analysis very carefully in advance. In the chest P-A, we can grasp the aspects of the site and size of lesion, marginal state of lesion, calcification, cavity, and the growth rate in comparison to follow-up chest P-A. On the basis of above-mentioned analysis, we have to judge whether it is benign or malignant, and decide the next examinations. And then the doctor make diagnosis definitely by the clinical history, plain chest P-A, tomography, bronchography, CT, variable laboratory findings.

        He-Ne 레이저 혈관내 조사(ILIB)가 고지혈증에 미치는 영향에 대한 임상보고

        Purpose : Intravascular Laser Irradiation on Blood(ILlB) therapy has been usedto various circulatory diseases recently. In this study, we sought to find out the effects of ILIB on hyperlipidemia . Material and Methods : In this study of 163 patients with hyperlipidemia , we observed change of total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum after ILIB therapy. Results and Conclusion : In patients with hyperlipidemia , total cholesterol mean values decreased from $240.04{\pm}56.23$mg/dL to $214.90{\pm}45.84$mg/dL and triglyceride mean values decreased from $304.98{\pm}134.37$mg/dL to $244.05{\pm}120.46$mg/dL, after ILIB thetapy. We evaluated that ILIB therapy reduced total cholesterol and triglyceride (p<0.001) in patients with hyperlipidemia and IUB therapy is more effective to patients with hyperlipidemia than normal(p<0.001).

        The gallbladder is a pear-shaped, thin walled sac located on the inferior surface of the liver between the right and quadrate lobe, in a recess called fossa vesicae felleae. It is 7.5cm-12.5 cm in length, 3.5 cm in the largest width, and has a volume of about 45 ml with a remarkable capacity for expansion. There are many kinds of diagnostic methods to evaluate diseases of biliary tract including gallbladder-Plain abdomen, Oral cholecystography. Intravenous cholangiography, Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography(PTC), Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography(ERCP), Operative or T-tube cholangiography, Ultrasonography, Radioisotope study, Computed tomography, and Angiography. Especially, ultrasonography is the most effective and noninvasive study in these days. Plain abdomen, oral cholecystography, intravenous cholangiography, and ultrasonography have been performed in our clinic. Methods and findings of above mentioned study are discussed with consideration of references.

        전북지역 일부 남녀 고등학생을 대상으로 한 청소년의 혈압 및 혈중 콜레스테롤에 대한 연구

        Objective : Hyperlipidemia and hypertension are well recognized risk factors of cerebrovascular disease. So it's very important to evaluate blood pressure and s-cholesterol in adolescence. Material and Methods : April 1999, we were requested health examinaion for high school students of a boys high school and a girls high school in Jeonbuk, Korea. The subjects were 360 students, boys were 317 and girls were 343. They were checked their height, body weight, blood pressure, and s-cholesterol. Results and Conclusion : The mean of systolic blood pressure of study subjects was $111.89{\pm}12.43mmHg$. In boys, it was $116.25{\pm}11.78mmHg$, and in girls, it was $107.87{\pm}11.64mmHg$. The mean of diastolic blood pressure of study subjects was $68.45{\pm}9.40mmHg$. In boys, it was $66.92{\pm}10.00mmHg$, and in girls it was $69.85{\pm}9.40mmHg$. Hypertensives were 18(5.68%) in boys, 10(2.92%) in girls. The mean of s-cholesterol of study subjects was $174.95{\pm}32.28mg/dL$. In boys, it was $178.91{\pm}34.51mg/dL$, and in girls, it was $171.29{\pm}29.66mg/dL$. Hypercholesterolemias were 91(28.71%) in boys, 39(11.37%) in girls. The mean of BMI of study subjects was $21.12{\pm}3.27kg/m2$. In boys, it was $21.05{\pm}3.26kg/m2$, and in girls, it was $21.18{\pm}3.29kg/m2$. Obese boys were 18(5.68%), obese girls were 13(3.79%). The mean of diastolic blood pressure in obese boys was significantly higher than that of normal boys(p=0.001, Mann-Whitney test). The mean of s-cholesterol in obese boys($BMI{\ge}274$) was significantly higher than that of normal boys.(P=0.26, Mann-Whitney test).

        강박스교량 공사비 특성 분석

        설계단계별 적정공사비를 산출하는 것은 건설공사의 효율적인 예산확보 및 집행에 있어서 중요한 이슈의 하나이다. 이러한 것을 고려하여 본 연구에서는 강교량 공사비 산출을 위한 기본자료 구축의 일환으로 기존 설계된 강교량의 수량 및 단가산출서, 내역 산출서 등의 설계내역서를 분석하여 강박스 교량의 기본적인 제원 특성 등을 조사하고자 한다. 또한 강박스교량의 예정가격 공사비 특성과 교량 공사 공종별과의 상관관계를 평가하는 것에 의해 향후 강교량 기획단계의 적정공사비 산정을 위한 기초자료를 제공하여 효율적이고 타당한 적정공사비 산정모델 구축을 위한 기본 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 이상의 연구 결과 전체 공사비에서 각 공종이 차지하는 비율 및 단위 공사비를 산출하였으며, 강교량 공사비의 영향요인을 도출하였다. Estimating appropriate construction cost at the design phase is judged with one important issue to the efficient security and the execution of budget. Therefore, in this paper, to build fundamental data of appropriate construction cost for steel box bridges, the existing calculated document such as the quantity, unit price document and detail items etc.. was analyzed and the basic specification of the bridges was investigated. Also, by estimating the relationship between predetermined cost and construction items on the bridges, the paper is intended to produce basic data for the calculation of appropriate construction cost in planning phase. From the result, it was calculated ratio of construction item in the total construction cost and unit cost. And then it was deduced effect factor of construction cost in steel box bridge.

        도시-농촌지역 고등학생의 성장, 혈압 및 혈중콜레스테롤에 대한 연구

        Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate and compare the growth, blood pressure, and s-cholesterol of urban and rural students in Korea. Methods: April 1999, We examined the students' health of a boys high school and a girls high school in a urban area - Jeonju, Korea.(boys were 317, girls were 343). And we also examined the students' health of a high school in a rural area - Gimje, Korea.(boys were 33, girls wee 36). Height, body-weight, Body Mass Index(BMI)I, blood pressure, and s-cholesterole were checked and compared between two groups. Results and Conclusion: The mean of height in urban students was $165.25{\pm}7.79cm$, and that in rural students was $163.77{\pm}8.72cm$. There was no significant difference stastically between two groups. The mean of body-weight in urban students $(57.78{\pm}10.51kg)$ was significantly higher than that in rural students $(54.71{\pm}10.11kg)$)(p<0.05). The mean of body mass index(BMI) in urban students $(21.12{\pm}3.27kg/m2)$ was significantly higher than that in rural students $(20.30{\pm}2.69kg/m2)$(p<0.05). Obese students $(BMI{\geq}27)$ were 31(4.70%) in urban students, 3(4.35%) in rural students. The mean of systolic blood pressure in rural students $(114.99{\pm}9.50mmHg)$ was significantly higher than that in urban students $(111.89{\pm}12.42mmHg)$(p<0.05) The mean of diastolic blood pressure in rural students$(75.72{\pm}9.90mmHg)$ was very significantly higher than that of urban students $(68.45{\pm}9.40mmHg)$(p<0.001). Hypertensives (${\geq}138/86mmHg\;in\;boys,\;{\geq}130/83mmHg$ in girls) were 28(4.24%) in urban students, 13(18.84%) in rural students. The mean of s-cholesterol in urban students was $174.95{\pm}32.28mg/dL$, and that in rural students was $176.81{\pm}33.18mg/dL$. There was no significant difference stastically between two groups. Hypercholesterolemias (${\geq}198mg/dL$ in boys, ${\geq}212mg/dL$ in girls) were 130(19.70%) in urban students, 14(20.89%) in rural students. These results suggest that there are differences in body weight, BMI, and diastolic blood pressure between urban and rural students and that it is necessary to consider these differences in health examination.

        Sarcoma-bearing Mice에서 Cadmium-109과 Gallium-67의 체내 분포의 비교

        Metallothionein (MT)는 세포내에 존재하는 cystein이 풍부한 적은 단백질로서 핵의학적 영상이나 치료에 이응이 가능할 여러 금속성 방사성 동위원소와 결합한다. 본 연구는 sarcoma를 주사한 Balb/C mice에서 MT와 결합하는 방사성동위원소인 cadmium이 종양에 축적되는가를 확인하고, 그것이 핵의학적인 영상과 치료에 이용될 수 있는지와 Ga-67을 대신할 수 있는지를 보기 위해 종양과 정상조직에서 Cd-109과 Ga-67의 섭취율을 비교하고 종양과 정상조직의 비를 비교하였다. Balb/3T3 세포를 Molony murine sarcoma virus (MMSV)로 변형시킨 세포를 Balb/C mice의 왼쪽 서혜부에 피하로 주사한 후 종양이 $0.6{\sim}l.0cm^2$로 자랐을 때 $25{\mu}Ci$ Cd-109 chloride와 $40{\mu}Ci$ Ga-67 citrate을 피하주사 한 후 18 또는 72시간에 쥐를 희생하여 종양과 여러 정상조직을 제거하여 무게를 잰 후 방사능을 측정하였다. Cd-109의 종양섭취는 Ga-67과 비슷하나 대부분의 정상조직에 비해 (MT가 풍부한 간과 신장을 제외) Ga-67보다 높았다. 종양대 정상조직의 섭취비는 Cd-109이 Ga-67에 비해 배후방사능에 중요한 영향을 미치는 장기인 뼈, 장, 지방조직, 근육, 혈액에서 월등히 높아서 (P<0.001) 같은 종양에서 Ga-67보다 좋은 영상을 얻을 수 있으리라고 생각되며, MT에 결합하는 cadmium은 암의 종양영상과 치료에 이용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. The search for tumor-avid agents for use in nuclear medicine imaging or therapy is a field of ongoing importance. Metallothionein (MT) is an intracellular protein that binds many metals with isotopes having imaging or radiotherapeutic potential. The purpose of the study was to determine whether uptake of radioisotopes that bind to MT is increased in tumor. We measured the uptake of Cd-109 and Ga-67 in tumor and normal tissues of sarcoma-bearing mice. Tumors were grown subcutaneously in female Balb/C mice from cultured Balb/3T3 cells transformed by the Moloney murine sarcoma virus (MMSV). When the tumors reached about 1 cm in diameter, mice were injected subcutaneously with Cd-109 and Ga-67. Eighteen and seventy-two hours later, the mice were sacrified. Organs and tissues were removed, weighed, and activity per mg tissue determined by gamma well-counting. Uptake of Cd-109 by MMSV tumors exceeded that by normal tissues examined, with the exception of liver and kidney (the organs known to be richest in MT). The tumor-to-tissue ratios of uptake for Cd-109 were far greater than those for Ga-67 for many normal tissues of great importance in terms of background activity (bone, intestine, fat, muscle, and blood). We concluded that metals that bind to MT may be useful for oncologic imaging or rediotherapy of cancer.
