        Effect of Green Tea Extract/Poly-γ-Glutamic Acid Complex in Obese Type 2 Diabetic Mice

        Background: The increasing prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with the rapid spread of obesity. Obesity induces insulin resistance, resulting in β-cell dysfunction and thus T2DM. Green tea extract (GTE) has been known to prevent obesity and T2DM, but this effect is still being debated. Our previous results suggested that circulating green tea gallated catechins (GCs) hinders postprandial blood glucose lowering, regardless of reducing glucose and cholesterol absorption when GCs are present in the intestinal lumen. This study aimed to compare the effect of GTE with that of GTE coadministered with poly-γ-glutamic acid (γ-PGA), which is likely to inhibit the intestinal absorption of GCs. Methods: The db/db mice and age-matched nondiabetic mice were provided with normal chow diet containing GTE (1%), γ-PGA (0.1%), or GTE+γ-PGA (1%:0.1%) for 4 weeks. Results: In nondiabetic mice, none of the drugs showed any effects after 4 weeks. In db/db mice, however, weight gain and body fat gain were significantly reduced in the GTE+γ-PGA group compared to nondrug-treated db/db control mice without the corresponding changes in food intake and appetite. Glucose intolerance was also ameliorated in the GTE+γ-PGA group. Histopathological analyses showed that GTE+γ-PGA-treated db/db mice had a significantly reduced incidence of fatty liver and decreased pancreatic islet size. Neither GTE nor γ-PGA treatment showed any significant results. Conclusion: These results suggest that GTE+γ-PGA treatment than GTE or γ-PGA alone may be a useful tool for preventing both obesity and obesity-induced T2DM.

        인공 슬관절 전치환술을 시행한 환자에서 수술 전 비경구적 철 수크로스 투여의 효과

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative parenteral iron sucrose therapy in patients with postoperative anemia following total knee arthroplasty. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 30 patients who had postoperative anemia and who had undergone total knee arthroplasty from March 2008 to November 2008. Those patients agreed on treatment with preoperative parenteral iron sucrose therapy. The other 30 patients without iron sucrose administration were selected as a control group from January 2007 to February 2008. In this study, age, gender, the preoperative and postoperative values of hemoglobin, the operation time, the amount of bleeding, the amount of transfusion, the frequency of transfusion, postoperative infection and the length of the hospital stay were evaluated and statistically compared. Postoperative complications were also assessed. Results: Ant complications due to the administration of iron sucrose were not observed. At 48 hours postoperatively, the mean hemoglobin of iron sucrose administration group was 9.4g/dL and that of the control group was 8.7g/dL (p=0.008). Homogenous transfusion was done for 17 cases in the iron sucrose administration group and for 22 cases in the non-iron sucrose administration group, but among these groups, the results were statistically insignificant. The amount of homogenous transfusion for each patient who underwent iron sucrose administration is 1.3 units and this was 1.7 units for each patient who underwent non-iron sucrose administration. No statistical differences were observed between the groups in this study. Conclusion: Parenteral iron sucrose administration in patients following total knee arthroplasty was not efficacious for preventing immediate postoperative anemia.

      • 한국문화관광상품에 대한 일본여행자의 만족과 재방문의도에 관한 연구

        This dissertation purports to examine the relationship between the attitudes before and after tour to Korea for the Japanese tourists. In specific, we tried to verify the relationship between their evaluations of cultural-tourism - products(C.T.P.) attribute and travel-agency service(T.A.S) as a product. We explored how the manipulative variables affect the T₁, (before visit) and T₂(after visit). As a result of the research, we found that the tourists who have positive attitude towards CTP and TAS at T₁. were intended to repurchase the CTP. And those who satisfy the TAS were intended to repurchase TAS as well. The factors related to CTP at the T₂. were analyzed and the results depicted that after visiting Korea their perceptions on the evaluation of CTP and TAS were par with the one of before visiting Korea as much same as the point of T₁ The tourists who were satisfied with CTP, had a propensity to repurchase the CTP. And also the tourists who are satisfied with TAS, are positively related to repurchase TAS. However, there existed no significant crossover effect which at the point of T₁, the satisfaction on CTP did not effect to repurchasing intention for TAS while the satisfaction on TAS did not influenced to repurchasing intention for CTP. Finally entire results of T₁, through T₂ which handled the relationship of other CTP's consuming factors, depicted that the satisfaction on CTP affected to repurchasing intention at the T₁ point as well as affected to repurchasing intention at the T₂ point. The repurchasing intention of CTP at the point of T₁, was important effect on that of the point of T₂. As a result, We found that the manipulated variables worked between the T₁ and T₂.

        축제참가자의 신선지향성이 참여의지와 만족에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to find what are the effects of festival participant's novelty seeking to involvement intention and satisfaction. A survey design was adopted to collect the required information and a random sampling approach was utilized to select the respondents(N=220) at Namwon herb festival. SEM(Structural equation modeling) was used to examine relationship among novelty seeking, involvement intention, and satisfaction. We found the novelty seeking has a positive effect to the involvement intention(standard regression weight=0.375, t=4.120, p<0.01) and to the satisfaction(standard regression weight =0.440, t=5.096, p<0.01). Also, the involvement intention has a positive effect to the satisfaction(standard regression weight=0.267, t=3.397, p<0.01). The findings lead to an improved understanding of the interrelationship among novelty seeking, involvement intention and satisfaction in the context of festival.

        시판 육류중의 Tetracycline계 항생물질 잔류량과 가열분해에 관한 연구

        육류중의 Tetracycline계 항상물질의 잔류량을 조사하기 위하여 시판 중인 쇠고기, 돼지고기. 닭고기 3종을 각각 3개시료씩 구입하여 Tetracycline(TC), Oxyteracycline(OTC) , Chlortetracycline(CTC) 의 잔류량을 분석하였으며, 아울러 잔류 항생물질의 조리가열에 의한 분해감소량을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 시판 육류중의 OTC 및 CTC 잔류량: OTC 잔류량은 닭고기의 경우 A 시료에서 흔적정도, B시료에서 불검출 , C시료에서는 0.09mg/kg이 검출되었다. 쇠고기 3개 시료에서는 C 시료에서만 돼지고기 A 및 B에서는 흔적정도로 검출되었다. CTC은 닭고기 A,C시료에서 0.14, 0.02mg/kg으로 각각 검출되었으며, 쇠고기와 돼지고기의 경우에는 쇠고기 B에서만 0.01mg/kg의 잔류량이 확인되었다. 2. TC 잔류량 : 쇠고기와 돼지고기의 Tc 분석에는 육류 자체에서 유래된 성분의 peak와 TC의 peak가 중복되어 잔류량의 판단을 방해하였으나, 닭고기의 경우에는 이러한 방해 성분이 없었으며, 3개중 A 시료에서만 0.01mg/kg의 잔류량이 검출되었다. 3. 가열방법별 항생물질의 분해정도 : 가장 고온가열인 굽기에서, 특히 TC 및 OTC의 분해가 많았다.. 4. 가열시간에 따른 분해정도 : 자불에서는 상당시간이 경과하여도 미량의 분해가 있었으나, 굽기에서는 시간경과에 따라 분해량의 현저한 증가를 보였다. 굽기와 같은 조리 효과를 가진 전자오븐 가열에서는 덜 분해되었다. 가열에 대한 각 항생물질의 내열성은 CTC>OTC>TC 의 순으로 나타났다. Beef, pork and chicken on the market were analyzed for determination of tetracyclines residue and decomposition of tetracyclines by heating were studied. The content of oxytetracycline was trace in chicken A, 0.09 mg/kg in C and trace in beef C, pork A and B, but in the other samples was not detected oxytetracycline. Chlortetracycline residue was 0.14, 0.02 and 0.01 mg/kg in chicken A, C and beef B respectively. In HPLC analysis, two peaks of 8.1 and 9.0 min of retention time were found from beef and pork and expected to be component of meat, and because of same retention time, the one of 9.0 min interrupted determination of tetracycline. But those were not found in chicken, therefore the residue was 0.01 mg/kg in sample A. The residue were degradated rapidly by heating of roast, but slightly by that of boiling.

        The primary objective of this study was to empirically determine the relationship between travel agency images and customer patronages toward five competing travel agencies, and to understand the nature of their competition by matching customer patronage behavior toward alternative travel agencies with perceptions of alternative travel agencies on particular image attribute. This study contributes to the existing consumer patronage behavior literature by providing empirical research results for the interrelationships between multi-store image measures and multi-store loyalty measures. In terms of offering strategic guidelines, this study shows the magnitude of the relationships and explains the nature of competition in a travel market by linking customer patronage behavior toward one or more travel agencies with the image strengths/weaknesses of travel agencies on salient image dimensions. As a consequence, travel agencies can use this information in their repositioning strategies to improve or change their image

From this angle, tourism industry which produces maximum effects at minimum expenses is come up as the optimum object of the developing. Namely, a growth of tourism industy through a regional development is the most important object of developing or growth as a strategic industry, because of benefit effects of the society, culture or environment. The purpose of this study is to promote tourism development in Cho˘n-Buk zone based on tourism resources and environment that can be developed to the fullest potency in this zone. For this, it is to operate the factor analysis of competitive power of tourism industry in Cho˘n-Buk zone based on SER-M model and to suggest a various promotion program of tourism industry.
