      • Variation of Bird community and Habitat use after Developing Hangang river Ecological Learning Center

        The Hangang (Han River) Ecological Learning Center is a river ecosystem park which was completed in December of 2002. The river ecosystem park was created based on the understanding of the problems of standard park-formed river which centers around convenient facilities instead of on the wish to accentuate the innate unique characteristics of a river. Therefore, the study was conducted in order to analyze the changes and habitation usage of the avifauna in the Hangang Ecological Learning Center to provide basic information for the improvement of bird species diversity in an ecosystem park. The study was conducted in July and October of both 2003 and 2005 to study the avian colonies of the same time period, and the habitat usage of four different areas were examined. Main dominant species includes species which preferred waterside and grassland, and 2005 showed higher levels of species, bird count and number of migratory birds. Furthermore, among the four regions used as habitats, the confluence region showed the highest level of increase, and this is predicted to have caused by the shallow depth of the confluence and the stability of the waterside plant colonies.

      • 심한 골병변으로 발현된 기능성 낭종성 부갑상선 선종

        낭종성 부갑상선 선종과 심한 골병변을 동반한 부갑상선 기능항진증은 매우 드문 질환으로서, 저자들은 양측 고관절의 통증을 초기 주소로 내원한 환자에서 고칼슘혈증과 부갑상선 호르몬 증가, 골병변의 방사선적 소견을 통해 부갑상선 기능항진증을 진단하고, 경부 초음파와 컴퓨터 단층 촬영, 부갑상선 스캔검사 및 수술중 부갑상선 낭종액 검사 등을 통해 기능성 부갑상선 낭종의 한 종류인 낭종성 부갑상선 선종을 진단하고 수술적 제거를 통하여 정상화된 1예를 경험하였다. A cystic parathyroid adenoma is rare. A case of primary hyperparathyroidism, with the cystic formation of a parathyroid adenoma and a severe bony lesion, is reported. A 52-year-old male was admitted due to pain in both hips and for evaluation of hypercalcemia. The plasma level of the intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) was elevated to 1424 pg/mL. Ultrasonography and the computed tomography revealed a parathyroid cyst on the left thyroid lower pole. Parathyroid scintigraphy detected a parathyroid adenoma. A radiograph showed a subperiosteal bone resorption on the phalanges, and a brown tumor (osteitis fibrosa cystica) on the femur shaft was noted. A surgical excision of the parathyroid adenoma was performed. The PTH level in the cystic fluid was increased. A histological examination confirmed a cystic parathyroid adenoma. The PTH level was normalized after the operation (J Kor SOC Endocrinol 18:214-220, 2003).

        Multiple primary cancer means that more that two cancers occur independently in an individual. Recently, the incidence of multiple primary cancer has increased with lengthened survival, of cancer patients, development of new diagnostic technique and increased clinical evaluation. We report a patient who had adenocarcinoma of stomach combined with squamous cell carcinoma of esophagus simultaneously.

      • 국지측량에서의 RTK-GPS 정확도 분석

        Real-time Kinematic GPS enables high accuracy positioning by real time. If ambiguity use an integer solution, can obtain accuracy of several "mm", and can obtain accuracy of tens "cm" if use real solution. In this study, we accomplish surveying by existent traditional surveying techniques (Total Station), Static GPS techniques and new technology RTK –GPS techniques by Field Calibration about uniformity measuring point and then compared and analyzed each techniques positioning accuracy etc ., Result that achieve by Static-GPS in Plane area, about all measuring points, expressed error fewer than 3cm. Result that achieve RTK-GPS Surveying by Field Calibration in Plane area, could know that RTK-GPS techniques by Field Calibration is available in Plane area because expressing errors fewer than all 6cm, except case that do not get fixed solution of ambiguity. RTK-GPS by Field Calibration could know economically than existent conventional type measurement and existent GPS's measurement techniques that efficiency is very high.

        Real Time Kinematic GPS will allow a multitude of monitoring, navigation and engineering applications. Applications inclued real time deformation and movement monitoring and real time automated plant control. In a low dynamic environment, with a short baseline length, it is possible to position a roving receiver to an approximate accuracy of less than 5mm within a few seconds of thestart of the ambiguity. One Engineering application is the monitoring of the movement of cable suspension bridges. Such structures are capable of movements of up to a few meters under adverse wind conditions or heavy traffic loads. The use of relative OTF positioing at strategic points upon the bridge would allow close monitoring of the bridge's movements and calculate deformation and long-term deterioration factors for the bridge. Future bridge designs and traffic management schemes could also benefit from the monitoring system.

        Recently, GPS-aided aerial triangulation becomes a standard technique for topographic mapping. The main reason for wide spreading of combined bundle adjustment with GPS is the cost savings through considerably reduction of ground control points without loss of accuracy in comparison with conventional method. Another advantage of GPS-Photogrammetry is the real time flight navigation which enables to conduct the preplanned overlap and exposure time exactly. The combined bundle block adjustment with projection center coordinates determined by kinematic DGPS-positioning has reached a high level of accuracy. Standard deviations of the ground coordinates of ±10cm or even better can be reached. On this accuracy level also smaller error components are becoming more important. One major point of this is the interpolation of the projection centers as a function of time between the GPS-antenna locations. As a result of introducing DGPS-data into the block adjustment instead of ground control points, with only the control points located at both ends of blocks, it was possible to get same levels of accuracy as that of conventional block adjustment that needs a few control points. In case that the geometry of block is good, with one control point or without control points it was possible to adjust, but at least four control points were necessary to correct the errors remained in the kinematic positions effectively.

      • 결직장 암종에서 핵 내 β-catenin 발현이 cyclin D1 발현에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : β-Catenin plays dual roles, a structural role in cell-cell juction for signal transduction and a regulatory role in the nucleus for gene expression. β-Catenin can translocate into the nucleus, where it forms a complex with transcription factor of the lymphoid enhancing factor (Lef-1), and activates the expression of mostly unknown genes. β-catenin mediated signal depends on its accumulation and subsequent translocation into the nucleus. Elevated β-catenin level in colorectal cancers is caused b y mutations in β-catenin itself or adenomatous polyposis coli(APC). Recent studies described that up-regulation of β-catenin might promote neoplastic conversion in colorectal cancers by triggering cyclin D1 expression. We investigated to determine whether the nuclear translocation of β-catenin can influence to in vivo expression of cyclin-D1, and growth pattern at the invasive front in sporadic colorectal cancers. 37 cases of sporadic colorectal carcinomas were retrospectively reclassified and investigated the expression patterns and degrees of β-catenin, cyclin-D1, and p53 by immuno-histochemical method, and also reanalyzed clinical and pathological parameters. In the majority of carcinoma cells in the superficial areas, expression patterns of β-catenin were mostly membramous pattern, and cytoplasmic or mixed pattern of membranous and cytoplasmic were occasionally observed. But nuclear expression of β-catenin were more frequently observed at the invasive border(22/37, 59.5%). High level expression(more than 40% of carcinoma cell) of cyclin-D1 was detected in 7 cases(7/37, 18.9%) of colorectal carcinomas, and the expressed location of cyclin-D1 was significantly related nuclear expression of β-catenin(p=0.0012). However, nuclear expression of β-catenin was not relationship with p53 expression and other clinicopathologic parameters(p>0.05). Conclusions : Conclusively, nuclear expression of β-catenin could promote cyclin-D1 expression, subsequently influences upon the cell cycle, and may be play an important role in tumor progression of sporadic colorectal carcinomas

      • GPS에 의한 자세결정 정확도에 영향을 미치는 요소

        In this study, the attitude estimation software using direct and least square computation was developed, then the field tests were performed so as to assess the effects and characteristics which influence on accuracy of determined attitude by GPS observation errors like multipath, receiver noise, antenna phase center variation, and by elements which ought to be considered to operate systems like baseline length, number of satellite, geometry, and antenna configuration. As a result, it could be concluded that the multipath of GPS signal is the most important error and the accuracy of the estimated attitude parameters from GPS carrier phase is inversely proportional to baseline length through the accuracy analysis of attitude parameters from GPS. It was shown that the usage of much longer baseline was the easiest and most efficient method to determine attitude parameters of supra-accuracy.
