Strongyloides stercoralis is an intestinal nematode with a complex life cycle, including a free living cycle, a parasitic cycle, and an auto-infection cycle. S. stercolaris infection may occur in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised individuals. It is usually asymptomatic and undetectable for decades in a healthy host. In immunocompromised patient, however, it may cause life threatening hyperinfection involving multiple organs. In Korea, several cases of Strongyloides hyperinfection have been reported since 1959. However, reports with gastric involvement and peritoneal invasion are rare. This is a report of gastric strongyloidiasis hyperinfection identified at ascites in an elderly patient who had subtotal gastrectomy due to stomach cancer.

Electricity generation through fossil fuels has caused environmental pollution. To solve this problem, research on new renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal heat, etc.) to replace fossil fuels is in progress. These devices are able to consistently generate power. However, they have many drawbacks, such as high installation costs and limitations in possible set-up environments. Thus, piezoelectric harvesting technology, which is able to overcome the limitations of existing energy technologies, is actively being studied. Piezoelectric harvesting technology uses the piezoelectric effect which occurs in crystals that generate voltage when stress is applied. Therefore, it has advantages such as a wider installation base and lower technological cost. In this study, a piezoelectric energy harvesting device based on constant wave motion was investigated. This device can regenerate electricity in a constant turbulent flow in the middle of the sea. The components of the device are circuitry, a steel bar, an bimorph piezoelectric element and buoyancy elements. In addition, a multiphysical analysis coupled with the structure and piezoelectric elements was conducted to estimate the performance of the device. With this piezoelectric energy harvesting device, the displacement and electric power were analyzed.

There are many systems for cutting plates or pipes into a desired shape. A typical system is a plasma cutter. It uses plasma, which means that an effective design of the table supporting the workpiece is an important issue in order to ensure a long operational career. Conventional roller-support worktables have a short lifespan due to scratches from the plasma, and it is also difficult to maintain the roller balance. By using a bolt-fastening method, deformation and failure of the final product can occur due to the stress concentration at bolting points. To escape these issues, a polygon support and bracket fastening method was designed. Due to polygons having a number of support surfaces, when one surface has been damaged, it is possible to reuse the support by utilizing a different surface. The bracket-fastening method can extend the worktable lifetime and increase productivity by reducing stress concentration. In this paper, the polygon support/bracket-fastening method is compared with existing technologies. Consequently, performance benchmarks are verified through a structure analysis and experimentation.

For a long time, the private Investigation service has been prohibited in Korea. Sangbae Lee, who is a member of the opposition party, Hannara, made a suggestion about “Private Investigation Service Act’’ in September 8th, 2005. Now, the legislative bill has been submitted to National Assembly and reviewed thoroughly so that the perspective and possibility of the legislation is very bright than ever before. However, there are still quite a few opponents to legislate the Act because it could cause the side-effect. Therefore, the bill should be legalized to contribute to the protection of the civil rights as well as to minimize the adverse reaction. To institutionalize the “Private Investigation Service System”, the necessity of legislation of the Act should be known to Government, Nation Assembly and Mass Media throughout the nation with the measures such as holding a seminar, public hearing.

Recently, research and interests in pilotless and radio-controlled quadcopters have increased due to military, hobby, and air-photo applications. However, quadcopters are fragile and can very easily to break when they crash. Therefore, it is necessary to create a protective device such that these devices can protect the main board, motor, and propellers from outside impacts. In this paper, a protective device for a quadcopter is designed in the form of a circle to disperse shock. Also, a dropping and impact simulation was performed to verify that the quadcopter can be efficiently protected when using the proposed device, created with the commercial finite element software Solidworks.

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of tooth structure crazing when pinhole were drilled in dentin at various distances from the dentionenamel junction, and when pins were inserted by hand wrench and Auto-klutch handpiece. Sixty freshly extracted teeth were embedded in blocks of cold-curing acrylic resin to a level 1mm apical to the cementoenamel junction, the crown of the teeth were removed to a level 1.5mm coronal to the cementoenamel junction. After being sectioned, the cut surface of the teeth were smoothed, and they were divided into 4 groups. Group Ⅰ : 4 pinholes were drilled with self-threading Minim spiral drill and pins were inserted with hand wrench in fifteen teeth. Group Ⅱ : 4 pinholes were drilled with self-threading Minim spiral drill and pins were inserted with Auto-klutch handpiece in fifteen terth. Group Ⅲ : 4 pinholes were drilled with self-threading Regular spiral drill and pins were inserted with hand wrench in fifteen teeth. Group Ⅳ : 4 pinholes were drilled with self-threading Regular spiral drill and pins were inserted with Auto-klutch handpiece in fifteen teeth. The cut surface were then examined microscopically for the presence or absence of craze line. The results were as follows : 1. The self-threading Minim pin groups (Group Ⅰ & Ⅱ) produced less craze lines than did the self-threading Regular pin groups (Group Ⅲ & Ⅳ). 2. In the self-threading Minim pin groups, there was more craze lines with hand wrench (Group Ⅰ) than with Auto-klutch handpiece (Group Ⅱ). 3. In the self-threading Regular pin groups, there was more craze lines with hand wrench (Group Ⅲ) than with Auto-klutch handpiece (Group Ⅳ). 4 Placement of the pinhole at 0.0mm from the dentionenamel junction produced more craze lines than placed at 0.5mm, 1.0mm (p<0.05), however there was no statistically significant between the 0.5mm and 1.0mm distance.
