Procedures play a key role in ensuring safe operation at nuclear power plants (NPPs). Development and maintenance of a large number of procedures reflecting the best knowledge available in all relevant areas is a complex job. This paper introduces a newly developed methodology and the implemented software, called iExtractor, for the extraction of syntactic and semantic information from NPP procedures utilizing natural language processing (NLP)-based technologies. The steps of the iExtractor integrated with sets of rules and an ontology for NPPs are described in detail with examples. Case study results of the iExtractor applied to selected procedures of a U.S. commercial NPP are also introduced. It is shown that the iExtractor can provide overall comprehension of the analyzed procedures and indicate parts of procedures that need improvement. The rich information extracted from procedures could be further utilized as a basis for their enhanced management.

<P>An ultra-low-jitter, ring-<I>LC</I> -hybrid injection-locked clock multiplier (ILCM) is presented to achieve a high multiplication factor of 114. The proposed hybrid ILCM cascades a ring-type voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO)-based ILCM and an <I>LC</I>-type VCO-based ILCM. Using a dual-purpose frequency calibrator (DPFC) that can continuously calibrate the frequency drifts of the two VCOs, concurrently, the proposed ILCM can maintain excellent jitter performance against process-voltage-temperature (PVT) variations. Since the DPFC eliminates the use of an additional calibrator and operates at a very low frequency, it can reduce the expenditures for silicon and power. The proposed ILCM was fabricated in a 65-nm CMOS process. The RMS jitter of the 22.8-GHz output, integrated from 1 kHz to 100 MHz, was 153 fs, and the DPFC restricted its variations due to variations in temperatures and supply voltages to less than 180 fs. The proposed ILCM achieved the power efficiency of 0.32 mW/GHz. The active area was 0.2 mm<SUP>2</SUP>. The total power consumption was 7.4 mW, but the DPFC consumed only 400 <TEX>$\mu \text{W}$</TEX>.</P>
Two Systemic Approaches to Enhance Safety Culture at NPPs

Two systemic approaches to enhance safety culture at NPPs are introduced: 1) Digital Dashboard System to monitor safety culture; and 2) Knowledge Management System based on process modeling techniques and social network system (SNS). 1) Digital dashboard system aims to do role of enforcing safety culture at NPPS, as a main component of continuous improvement framework, by providing all stakeholders current level and trends of safety culture in each specific attributes or indicators suggested by IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations), U.S. NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission), and KHNP (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power). A prototype system has been developed to be extended to fit any mobile devices. 2) Experts` experiences expressed with specific instances are one of the best ways to be conveyed. A prototype system which represents job manuals in more comprehensible form with process modeling techniques, e.g., swim lane flow diagram, with additional features of allowing on-site recording of measurements and observations; and sharing of comments utilizing SNS combined with digital job manuals and its instances recorded.

The objective of this study was to investigate slaughtering performance, carcass grade, and quantitative traits of cuts according to seasonal influence by each month in pigs slaughtered in livestock processing complex (LPC) slaughterhouse in Korea, 2017. A total of 267,990 LYD (Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc) pig data were used in this study. Results of slaughter heads, sex distribution, carcass weight, backfat thickness, grading class, total weight, and fat and lean meat percentages of each cut predicted by Autofom Ⅲ were obtained each month. The number of slaughtered pigs was the highest in early and late fall but the lowest in midsummer. Only in midsummer that the number of females was higher than that of castrates. During 2017, carcass weight was the lowest in late summer. Backfat thickness was in the range of 21–22 mm. In mid and late spring, pigs showed high 1+ grade ratio (37.05% and 36.15%, respectively). For traits of 11 cuts predicted by Autofom Ⅲ, porkbelly showed lower total weight, lean weight, and fat weight in midsummer to early fall but higher lean meat percentage compared to other seasons. Weights of deboned neck, loin, and lean meat were the highest in midfall compared to other seasons (p<0.05). In conclusion, characteristics of slaughtering, grading, and economic traits of pigs seemed to be highly seasonal. They were influenced by seasons. Results of this study could be used as basic data to develop seasonal specified management ways to improve pork production.

The shock absorber is installed on the suspension device of the vehicle and enters the outside, and foreign substances such as dust and soil are introduced from the road surface while driving to form scratches on the piston rod, which may damage or breakage the function of the shock absorber, so a bellows-shaped dust cover is installed. In this treatise, a product development in accordance with an optimal design that prevents buckling of a dust cover for a shock absorber is described.
초·중등 현직교사의 학생 이해에 대한 인식 및 연수 요구도

이 연구는 교사들을 대상으로 학생 이해에 대해 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 학생 이해의 현황, 학생과의 소통, 학생 이해 관련 연수의 필요 및 요구도 등에 대해 질문지를 구안하였고 전국의 초ㆍ중등 현직 교사들을 대상으로 유층표집을 통해 온라인/오프라인 설문으로 총 445명의 자료를 확보하여 분석에 활용하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대부분의 교사들은 학생을 이해하고 있고 (9.8%) 학생 이해를 위해 노력 한다고(84.9%) 응답하였다. 둘째, 교사들은 가장 이해하기 어려운 학년으로 초등학교 6학년(59.2%), 중학교 2학년(66.7%), 고등학교 1학년 (57.6%)을 꼽았다. 셋째, 교사들은 학생 이해가 어려운 원인으로 교사 자신(37.1%) 을, 학생 이해의 방해 요인으로 업무 부담(56.1%)과 성장 경험(43.2%)을 가장 많이 선택하였다. 넷째, 학생에 대한 정보의 원천으로 교사들은 개인적 경험(62.6%)에 의존하고 있었다. 다섯째, 학생 이해를 위한 연수에 필요한 내용으로 초·중등교사들은 공통적으로 학생들 사이의 또래 문화 및 집단 심리, 정서적 교류 방법, 커뮤니케이션 역량 강화 프로그램을 가장 많이 선택하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate teacher s perceptions and needs of student understanding in the field of education. A questionnaire designed to elicit teacher s perceptions and needs of student understanding that was consist of student understanding current status, communication with students, needs of student understanding education training program. It was given to 445 school teachers who were teaching at different sized district by nonproportional stratified sampling. The findings of this study are as follows: First, most of the teachers showed that they understand students(79.8%) and they try to understand students(84.9%). Second, most teachers replied that 6th grade of primary school, 2nd grade of middle school and 1st grade of high school students were most difficult to understand. Third, most of teachers showed that a cause of difficulty of student understanding was teachers themselves(37.1%) and factors of disturbance of student understanding were a load of business(56.1%) and experience of growth(43.2%). Fourth, most of teachers depend on private experience(62.6%) to understand student. Fifth, peer culture, group psychology, emotional exchanging method and communication competence strengthening program were commonly required in both primary school teachers and secondary school teachers for teacher training program of student understanding.

Lately, Side airbag system has a tendency to be equipped as a standard for side crash performance in vehicle. Therefore, many studies on side airbag system, which is the important part of the safety system, have been proceeded in order to increase performance.<br/> In this study, the regulation of side impact, development procedure of side airbag and its tendency of technology are presented for competitive vehicle.
