        물표면 방전을 이용한 클로로포름의 분해

        Chloroform is harmful volatile organics and representatives of Trihalomethane (THM). Well-known removal methods of Chloroform are photo oxidation or OH radical oxidation. Plasma on water surface at slightly vacuum condition (45 torr) can produce OH radical and it will help chloroform removal. 81.5% of chloroform is removed by vacuum and plasma in 10 min. Plasma can totally oxidize it till 2.8% and partially oxidize chloroform up to 18.5%. Water-surface plasma is good method to remove chloroform in short time.

        이동형 스크러버를 이용한 암모니아 및 톨루엔의 제거 효율

        본 연구는 국내에서 다량 취급되고 있는 암모니아 및 톨루엔을 흄 상태로 노출시킨 후 흡수/흡착방법을 달리한 이동형 스크러버를 이용해 각 유해화학물질의 제거효율을 비교 분석하였다. 이동형 스크러버는 기 개발된 장치를 개선하여 와류세정에 의한 흡수, 유입풍속 조절의 장점을 살리고, 활성탄 및 카본필터를 통한 기체상 유해화학물질의 흡착방법 도입을 통해 단점을 보완하였다. 개선된 장치는 기초성능평가를 통해 적정 제어풍속이 검증되었고, 5% 암모니아수 용액을 흄 상태로 노출시켜 후드 흡입부, 송풍기 배출부 및 세정기가 정상 작동함을 확인하였다. 흡수/흡착방법에 따른 암모니아 제거효율은 90분 경과 후 C≥PCA>SWA 순으로 가장 우수한 SWA 군의 노출 농도별 제거 효율은 시간이 경과할수록 노출 농도와 무관하게 배출 농도는 증가되었고, 세정액의 pH는 산성에서 염기성으로 변화되었다. 또한, 시간 경과에 따른 노출 농도 별 세정액의 pH 변화와 배출구 농도 변화 사이에 0.9429~0.9491 수준의 정의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 흡착방법에 따른 톨루엔의 제거 효율은 초기 10분 경과 후 배출구농도에서 C>CMA≥GCA 순을 나타내다 90분 경과까지 일정한 농도로 유지되었다. 가장 우수한 GCA 군의 노출 농도 별 제거 효율은 초기 10분 경과 시 노출 농도에 비례하여 배출 농도가 높은 경향이었다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 개선된 이동형 스크러버는 중화반응에 의해 산성 또는 염기성 유해화학물질의 제거뿐 아니라, 활성탄 등의 흡착기능 개선을 통해 VOCs 제거에도 효과적이었다. 하지만, 실제 현장에서 활용이 가능하도록 세정액 pH를 지속적으로 유지하여 연속적으로 흡수 제거할 수 있는 방법과 노출되는 화학물질 농도와 흡착제의 관계에서 파괴점, 포화점, 흡착속도 등의 물리적인 요소가 추가적인 연구를 통해 도출되어야 할 것이다. BACKGROUND: The mobile vortex wet scrubber was developed to remove the harmful chemicals from accidental releases. However, there was a disadvantage that it was limitedly used for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as toluene according to the physicochemical properties. This study compared the removal efficiencies of an improved mobile scrubber on toluene and ammonia by applying diverse adsorption and absorption methods. METHODS AND RESULTS: The removal efficiencies on harmful chemicals were examined using various adsorption and absorption methods of water vortex process (C), phosphoric acid-impregnated activated carbon adsorption (PCA), pH-controlled water (pH 2.5) vortex process absorption with sulfuric acid (SWA) after ammonia exposure, granular activated carbon adsorption (GCA), and activated carbon mat adsorption (CMA) after toluene exposure. As a result, the best removal efficiency was shown in the SWA for ammonia and GCA for toluene. Also, the SWA and GCA methods were compared with different concentration levels. In the case of ammonia exposure (5, 10 and 25%), there was no difference by concentration levels, and the concentration in the outlet gradually increased, with pH change from acid to base. In the case of toluene exposure (50, 75 and 100%), the outlet concentration was higher relative to the exposure concentration in the initial 10 min, but the outlet concentration was remained steady after 10 min. CONCLUSION: The newly improved mobile scrubber was also effective in removing VOCs through adsorption techniques (activated carbon, activated carbon fiber, carbon mat filter etc.), as well as removing acid-base harmful chemicals by neutralization reaction.

      • 항혈청으로 처치된 질트리코모나스(Trichomonas vaginalis) 미세구조의 변화

        Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasitic flagellate found in the urogenital tract of humans. The present study was performed to evaluate the effect of antiserum from rat and rabbit on fine structure of T. vaginalis. Trophozoites were subcultured in TPS-1 medium(Diamond, 1968) at 37℃, CO₂incubator. T. vaginalis were inoculated in mixed medium containing of antiserum for 10 and 30 minutes, then observed with transmission and scanning electron microscope. The results are as follows: 1. T. vaginalis was ellipsoidal or ovoidal in shape with 4 flagella, an undulating membrane and an axostyle. The plasma membrane of body surface was smooth and furrowed. Pseudopodia(filopods) were often observed by SEM. Ultrastructure of trophozoites consisted of an elliptical shaped nucleus, RERs and Golgi complex around the nucleus, hydrogenosomes, glycogen granules, polysomes and vacuoles in cytoplasm. As the organelles for supporting and movement, an axostyle, kinetosomes, flagella, undulating membrane, costa and parabasal filaments were observed. 2. T. vaginalis treated with antiserum, its surface appeared destruction of plasma membrane, alteration and/or disappearance of axostyle, flagella and undulating membrane under the SEM and showed fine structural changes such as the nucleus surrounded by many vacuoles, decreased ribosomes, which attached to nuclear membrane and RER, vesiculated RER and Golgi complex. The area of filamentous cell coat and a number of coated vesicles were increased on plasma membrane with partial damage. According to going by the incubation time, the progressive destructions of cytoplasmic organelles, nuclear membrane, hydrogenosomal membrane, kinetosome and rootlet fiber were noted. With above results, it is presumed that specific antiserum induced the disturbance of protein systhesis and the damage of cytoplasm resulting lysis of T. vaginalis.

        가역 투자율 측정에 의한 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V 강의 열화도 평가

        고온에서 운용 중인 설비의 안전성을 평가하기 위해서는 사용기간동안 열화된 재료의 물성을 측정하여야 한다. 실제 사용되고 있는 화력발전소 터빈의 로터에서 열화도가 다른 여러 종류의 시편을 입수하기 어렵기 때문에, 터빈 로터재로 널리 사용되고 있는 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V 강을 인공열화시켜 시편으로 사용하였다. 열화도의 비파괴적 평가를 위하여 교류 섭동 자기장을 인가하여 가역 투자율을 측정하는 자기적 방법을 사용하였다. 열화도의 증가에 따라 경도와 가역 투자율 피크 사이의 간격은 감소하였는데, 경도와 가역 투자율 피크 간격과의 선형관계를 이용하여 비파괴적으로 터빈 로터강의 열화도를 평가할 수 있는 기초를 마련하였다. The integrity of the turbine totors can be assessed by measuring reversible permeability and Vickers hardness of the aged rotors at service temperature. The measurement system of reversible permeability, which measured by applied alternating perturbing magnetic field, was constructed in order to evaluate matrial degradation, nondestructively. The test specimen was 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel used widely for turbine rotor material, and the specimens were prepared by the isothermal heat treatment at 630 ℃. The reversible permeability of the test materials were measured at room temperature. The peak interval of reversible permeability and Vickers hardness decreased with the increase of degradation. The degradation of test material may be determined nondestructively by the lineality of Vickers hardness and the peak interval of reversible permeability.

        This study was designed to investigate potential endocrine disrupting effects of several industrial wastewater effluents discharged from cosmetic, plaiting, paint, textile industry using EROD bioassay and E-Screen assay The results of E-screen assay showed that textile industrial wastewater could act as a full agonist and cosmetics and plaiting industrial wastewater could act as a partial agonist On the contrary, the wastewater discharged from paint industry did not show any estrogenic effect Estrogenic activity in the effluents of cosmetic and paint industrial wastewater was lower than that in the influents indicating that the wastewater treatment process minimized the effects of discharges on water quality Despite of these results, it was recognized that wastewater treatment was not always minimize toxic impact In this study, increased estrogenic effect was observed in the effluents of plating and textile wastewater, and EROD activity was increased in the effluents of cosmetic and plating wastewater.

      • 치은부에 이중인공진피(Terudermis^(�) 이식 후 조직학적 평가

        The autogenous free gingival graft is the most predictable procedure currently used to increase the width of the attached gingiva in periodontal therapy. But the major disadvantage of the procedure is to create the 2ndary multiple surgical wounds at both a donor site and a recipient site. The other problem is the limited amount of available graft material. Therefore, recent researches have been focused on the development of the biomaterial to substitute gingival tissue. The purpose of this study was to compare the histologic healing after grafting of bilayer artificial dermis and free gingival graft. Four non-smoking subjects (mean age, 32.5 years) in systemically healthy state and good oral hygiene were selected according to their particular needs for correction of mucogingival deformities as suggested by Nabers : 1) zones of minimal attached gingiva, 2) areas of thin gingiva, 3) areas of inadequate vestibular formation, and 4) frenum problems. The recipient sites were prepared through the conventional free gingival graft procedure and were grouped according to the graft materials : Experimental group-bilayer artificial dermis (Terudermis ; Terumo Co. Japan)(n=5) ; Control group-free gingival graft with autogenous palatal mucosa(n=6). Biopsies were harvested from 11 sites (containing adjacent attached gingiva and graft) at 1, 2, 3 and 6 weeks postsurgery to evaluate histologic healing. At the third week in the experimental group and at the second week of in the control group, the grafts has been stabilized on the recipient bed and the graft border has been blended into the surrounding tissue. In the experimental group, the epitheial migration from the adjacent tissue to graft was observed after 1 week of grafting and the distribution of the inflammatory cells were reduced, collagen layer of the artificial dermis was lost and the basement membrane was formed after 3 weeks of grafting. At 6 weeks of grafting, both groups demonstrated orthokeratinized epithelium and increased thickness of epithelial tissue, similar to the adjacent tissue and the rete peg formation. It was difficult to distinguish the graft from adjacent normal tissue. Histologic evaluation revealed a biologic acceptance and incorporation of the collagen layers of the graft tissue to the host tissue, without severe inflammatory response. In conclusion, a bilayer artificial dermis is essentially similar to autogeneous free gingival graft in the correction of mucogingival problems, and has the advantages of decreased patient morbidity(no donor site) and availability of abundant amounts of graft material when needed.

        점막유표피암종의 치험례

        Mucoepidermoid carcinomas, first reported by Volkman(1895), form 6% to 9% of all salivary tumors. Two thirds affecting the parotid gland and the remaining third, the minor glands. As we could know from its name, mucoepidermoid carcinomas originate from ductal epithelium including squamous, mucous-secreting, and undifferentiated intermediate cells. Histologically, it is classified as well-differentiated (low grade), moderately-differentiated(intermediate grade), and poorly-differentiated (high grade) types and the treatment method and prognosis are influenced from its histological grade. We have experienced two cases of mucoepidermoid carcinoma treated surgically with good results and now would like to report these with review of literatures.

        전기비저항을 이용한 금속합금 열화도 평가기술

        재료의 노화에 의한 강도 및 인성 감소치를 정량적으로 평가하는 비파괴적 기법의 개발이 시도되고 있으며 전기비저항법도 그 중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 전기비저항법의 열화도 평가에의 적용성을 살펴보기 위해 먼저 6종 10 가지의 비자성 금속을 측정시료로 선택하여 직류 two-point probe법(혹은 2탐침법)으로 전기비저항을 계산한 결과와 비접촉식 와전류 방법으로 전기비저항을 측정한 결과를 서로 비교하였다. 또한, 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강에 대하여 비파괴적 측정 방법인 four-point probe 방법(혹은 4탐침법)을 사용하여 얻은 결과와 기존의 2탐침법을 사용하여 얻은 결과를 서로 비교하여 현장에서의 4탐침 기술의 적용 가능성을 살펴보았다. 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강에 대하여 2탐침법으로 구한 비저항값과 4탐침법으로 구한 비저항 측정값의 차이는 0.6%였다. 따라서 4탐침법을 사용하여 현장에서 금속소재의 열화도의 비파괴적 평가가 가능하다고 사료된다. Developments of nondestructive evaluation techniques for reduction of strength or toughness by aging of material have been carried out, and the method using electrical resistivity is one of them. In this study, to examine the application of electrical resistivity to the evaluation of the evaluation of degradation of metallic alloy, ten different non-magnetic materials were selected as test materials. Electrical resistivities measured by DC two-point probe method and those measured by non-contact type eddy current method were compared with each other. In addition, to examine the application possibility of four-point probe technology in field, the electrical resistivities for 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel measured by DC two-point probe method and four-point probe method were compared with each other. Differences between two measure values for the 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel were0.6%. Therefore, the four-point probe method can be applied to the estimation of the degradation of metallic alloy.ect.

      • TV 스포츠프로그램에 관한 고찰

        Nowadays, watching sports on TV is becoming a frame in the act of culture. Sports news, sports broadcast, and other programs that has relations with sports are developing not only with the quality of modern people but also with the relations of broadcasting company. This study aims at examining the way of studying TV sports programs and the influence of TV sports programs. It could be said that sports and television programs on sports have not been offered in-depth discussion and empirical exploration in the academic world so for, although their social influence is considerable. We firstly look over the meaning of mass media and then, we go into the study about mass media and sports. TV sports program takes social function, therefore, many theories is being used to study TV sports program. "Cultivation theory" and " Uses and gratification Approaches" are the main theories of the study on TV sports programs. At the first glance, the Cultivation Theory, which empirically analyzed the symbolic function of television as social ideological institution, and the Uses and Gratification Approaches, which contend the media audience are active rather than passive recipients, seem to be contradictory. However, if we look at the relationship between the mass media and audience not as one-way but as interactive process, it could be suggested that combining those two different theoretical worlds will be useful.

      • 안내염과 대장암이 동반된 재발성 간농양

        The causes of pyogenic liver abscess has been known as biliary tract disease or intrabadominal infection but the large proportions of the patients has no apparent underlying disorders. Recently colonic mucosal lesions were reported in patients with cryptogenic liver abscess and it has been suggested that colonic mucosal break may play a role in developing liver abscess in otherwise healthy patients. We experienced a patient of severe recurrent liver abscess complicated with endophthalmitis only 3 months after successful treatment of initial cryptogenic liver abscess and a polypoid colon cancer was discovered by chance. It seems prudent to proceed colonoscopic examination in patients with cryptogenic liver abscess especially when it is recurrent.
