Background/Aims: Immunomodulators such as azathioprine (AZA) and 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) have been used for induction and maintenance treatment of Crohn`s disease (CD) and have effect on decrease of the steroid dose in active CD. The aims of study is to evaluate the predictive factors of response to AZA/6-MP in patients with moderate to severe CD. Methods: Among total 1,499 patients registered on Crohn`s cohort in Korea, 1,382 were enrolled in this study. The medical records including baseline characteristics, location and type of CD, complications, treatment agents, and surgical treatments were reviewed retrospectively. The patients with AZA/6-MP treatments were divided into two groups according to the additional treatments such as biologic agents and/or surgical treatment. Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to evaluate the predictive factors of clinical response to immunomodulators. Results: Among 1,382 patients with CD, AZA/6-MP treatment was used in 926 (67.0%). Between two groups according to AZA/6-MP treatment, the treatment group was younger than the other group (mean age, 25.8 vs 32.4, p<.001). AZA/6-MP treatment was used more frequently in patients with ileocolonic CD (62.5% vs 45.4%, p=.007) and with perianal disease (29.5% vs 21.0%, p<.001). In 926 patients with AZA/6-MP treatment, 376 (40.6%) were treated with biologic agents and/or surgical treatment. Between two groups according to the result of AZA/6-MP treatment, the disease locations were significantly different (p=.007), although the disease behaviors were not different. Multivariate analysis revealed that the disease location (p=.003) and age at diagnosis (p=.029) were significantly associated with AZA/6-MP treatment failure. Conclusions: AZA/6-MP treatment is effective on induction and maintenance treatment in CD. However, early biologic treatment should be considered in young age, colonic CD, since their AZA/6-MP treatment is less effective.

Since the knuckle, a core component for automobile suspension, directly supports the wheel, it needs strength and durability. Studies for improving durability of the knuckle have been done but most of them are focusing on knuckle for hollow type shape. The durability test has been conducted under a driving condition of lateral force mode, braking torque mode and steering input mode by using hydraulic actuator for spindle type steering knuckle of independent suspension applied for commercial vehicles. We’ve also carried out structural analysis and fatigue analysis by utilizing MSC.Patran, MSC.Nastran and MSC.Fatigue in order to compensate for weak parts of the knuckle upon the result of the test.

<P>We report the observation of band-like transport from printed polymer thin films at room temperature. This was achieved from donor-acceptor type thiophene-thiazole copolymer that was carefully designed to enhance the planarity of the backbone and the resulting transfer integral between the macromolecules. Due to the strong molecular interaction, the printed polymer film exhibited extremely low trap density comparable to that of molecular single crystals. Moreover, the energy barrier height for charge transport could be readily reduced with the aid of electric field, which led formation of extended electron states for band-like charge transport at room temperature.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jacsat/2015/jacsat.2015.137.issue-25/jacs.5b04253/production/images/medium/ja-2015-04253w_0006.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/ja5b04253'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

정용채,진상윤,Chung, Yongche,Chin, Sangyoon 한국건설관리학회 2015 건설관리 : 한국건설관리학회 학회지 Vol.16 No.3
Construction Management(CM) and Building Information Management(BIM) have a lot in common that they need to establish a cooperation system among different disciplines and promote smooth communication among project stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle. BIM can be an effective information management tool for CM's business and improve their service value. However, BIM uses by Construction Managers(CMr) are very limited. The objective of this study is to analyze the intention of CMrs to adopt BIM and establish effective BIM use strategy in the CMr's point of view. This study utilizes Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) as a research method, and the results show that 1) CMrs think it is more important whether BIM is required to be adopted in their business process at the social or industry level than that BIM can improve their personal competence, recognition, and impressions through their voluntary BIM adoption; 2) that CMrs think it is important to figure out business processes where BIM can be smoothly incorporated; and 3) that CMrs hesitate the use and trial of BIM in their realworld business although they agree that BIM needs to be eventually adopted in their business in the future. Based on these results, directions for establish a strategy for BIM adoption were proposed at the CMr's point of view

Progress rate is one of the important factors that represent the performance and the status of a project through quantitative measurements of construction works performed. However, measuring progress rate has not been based on the collection of objective data and not based on the objective criteria either. Rather, since it has been dependent on one's subjective judgement or has included only the works measurable, it has been very difficult to assure the accuracy of a progress rate measurement in a construction project. Therefore the objective of this study is to propose a model that can improve the accuracy of a progress rate measurement by incorporating different measurement methods depending on the characteristics of unit work types. This research is still on-going at this point, however, this paper includes discussions on the development of the progress measurement method model along with analysis of literature survey and interviews with construction practitioners.

Various BIM project cases from both domestic and abroad shows that BIM process applied into construction process can be a sophisticated method to make project stakeholders including owner, contractor and designer get benefit under the win-win strategy. US and Europe known as advanced countries have established general foundation which makes best use of potential advantages of BIM. However, Korea tends to focus on only application of successful elements obtained through BIM cases without establishing general foundation which helps conducting a BIM process. Based on case studies of both domestic and abroad BIM projects, this research will deduce fundamental components to efficiently run the BIM process and adoption strategy for better BIM application will derive from these components. The adoption strategy from this research is expected to be used as preceding system to construct process based on BIM.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>In order to fabricate polymer field‐effect transistors (PFETs) with high electrical stability under bias‐stress, it is crucial to minimize the density of charge trapping sites caused by the disordered regions. Here we report PFETs with excellent electrical stability comparable to that of single‐crystalline organic semiconductors by specifically controlling the molecular weight (MW) of the donor‐acceptor type copolymer semiconductors, poly (didodecylquaterthiophene‐<I>alt</I>‐didodecylbithiazole). We found that MW‐induced thermally structural transition from liquid‐crystalline to semi‐crystalline phases strongly affects the device performance (charge‐carrier mobility and electrical bias‐stability) as well as the nanostructures such as the molecular ordering and the morphological feature. In particular, for the polymer with a MW of 22 kDa, the transfer curves varied little (Δ<I>V</I>th = 3∼4 V) during a period of prolonged bias stress (about 50 000 s) under ambient conditions. This enhancement of the electrical bias‐stability can be attributed to highly ordered liquid‐crystalline nanostructure of copolymer semiconductors on dielectric surface via the optimization of molecular weights.</P>

<P>The dynamic characterization of two green-sensitive organic photodetectors (OPDs) using nonfullerene small molecules is investigated by analyzing the electrical parameters based on the experimental results and the simulated data. The two OPDs comprise <I>N</I>,<I>N</I>-dimethyl quinacridone (DMQA) as the common donor and dibutyl-substituted dicyanovinyl terthiophene (DCV3T) or boron-subphthalocyanine chloride (SubPc) as respective acceptors. At the applied voltage of −5 V, the device composed of DMQA/SubPc shows a higher frequency response at 148.3 kHz, by 55 kHz higher than the device based on DMQA/DCV3T. The impedance spectroscopy results indicate that the former device exhibits the low resistance due to the high mobility and the low capacitance linked to the dielectric constant. According to the molecular quantum calculation, the linear structure of DCV3T may promote packing of adjacent molecules in the linear direction, resulting in a high polarizability. In contrast, the fused structure of SubPc leads to a decrease in reorganization energy, and its conical shape tends to counterbalance the net dipole at the axial position in the dimer packing configuration owing to the symmetry of the three-branched units in the molecular periphery, which are related to the high carrier mobility and the low dielectric constant. The OPD comprising SubPc, with the dynamic response surpassing the commercialization level of 100 kHz, also exhibits good static performance with an external quantum efficiency of 60.1% at the wavelength of 540 nm, which can be an interesting candidate for potential applications as image sensors.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jpccck/2014/jpccck.2014.118.issue-25/jp5028788/production/images/medium/jp-2014-028788_0008.gif'></P>

<P>In this letter, we demonstrated a high performance organic thin-film transistor using thermally evaporated amorphous phase MoOx as a hole injection layer between metal electrodes and organic semiconductor. The fabricated organic thin-film transistors showed the field-effect mobility of 7 cm2/Vs in linear and saturation regimes and an ON/OFF current ratio of 107. The MoOx hole injection layers significantly reduced the injection barrier from metal electrode, resulting in the improvement of ohmic contact properties of a synthesized thiophene-rich heteroacene, dibenzothiopheno [6,5-b:6',5'-f] thieno [3,2-b] thiophene p-type organic semiconductor, as compared with those with single metals. Furthermore, high performance organic thin-film transistors can be successfully realized with Al electrode, which is not suitable for p-type organic semiconductors due to its low work function by introducing a 75-nm-thick MoOx hole injection layer.</P>
