Effects of photoperiods, 24L or 24D, on the growth of the silkworm-dongchunghacho, the silkworm vegetable wasp and plant worm, were investigated. Exposure of the fungi under the photoperiod of 24L for at least 3 days during the cultivation of the fungi after the completion of endosclerotium in the host accelerated the spore formation, but the growth of the fruiting bodies was inhibited. On the contrary, the photoperiod of 24D inhibited the spore formation, but accelerated the growth of fruiting bodies without spores. Accordingly, to produce silkworm vegetable wasp and plant worm of large-size fruiting bodies with over 3㎝ in length, it is indicated that recommendable light condition is a photoperiod of 24D during the cultivation until the length of the fruiting body arrives at over 3㎝.

Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have a key role in carcinogenesis through negative regulation of their target genes. Therefore, genetic variations in miRNAs or their target sites may affect miRNA-mRNA interactions, thereby result in altered expression of target genes. This study was conducted to investigate the associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) located in the miRNA target sites (poly-miRTSs) and survival of patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: Using public SNP database and miRNA target sites prediction program, 354 poly-miRTSs were selected for genotyping. Among these, 154 SNPs applicable to Sequenom`s MassARRAY platform were investigated in 357 patients. A replication study was performed on an independent patient population (n = 479). Renilla luciferase assay and reverse transcription-PCR were conducted to examine functional relevance of potentially functional poly-miRTSs. Results: Of the 154 SNPs analyzed in a discovery set, 14 SNPs were significantly associated with survival outcomes. Among these, KRT81 rs3660G>C was found to be associated with survival outcomes in the validation cohort. In combined analysis,patients with the rs3660 GC+CC genotype had a signifi cantly better overall survival (OS) compared with those with GG genotype (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] for OS, 0.65; 95% confi dence interval [CI] 0.50-0.85; P= 0.001). An increased expression of the reporter gene for the C allele of rs3660 compared with the G allele was observed by luciferase assay. Consistently, the C allele was associated with higher relative expressionlevel of KRT81 in tumor tissues. Conclusions: The rs3660G>C affects KRT81 expression and thus infi uences survival in early-stage NSCLC. The analysis of the rs3660G>C polymorphism may be useful to identify patients at high risk of a poor disease outcome.
시판 조제 분유의 Allergenicity에 관한 연구

시판되는 조제분유를 제조회사별로 구입하여 guinea pig를 이용한 PCA inhibition test로 allergenicity를 측정한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 저 allergy분유는 negative반응을 나타내었고 조제분유는 positive 반응을 나타냈으나 제조회사별로 차이가 있었다. 가장 allergenicity가 강한 것은 B회사제품으로 대조군과 비교하여 착색된 직경의 크기나 색에 있어 차이가 없었으며 A회사 제품은 B회사 제품보다 allergenicity가 적은 것으로 나타났다. C회사 제품은 미약한 반응을 나타내 제조과정중 allergenicity가 감소되었음을 알 수 있었다. 이들 회사간의 allergenicity의 차이는 사용한 재료의 종류 및 사용비율, 열처리의 정도, 기타 제조공정상의 차이점에 기인된다고 사료된다. I experimented on commercial infant formula in passive cutaneous anaphylaxis inhibition methods. I used several guinea pigs for this experiment. The results obtained from this study were as follows : 1) Commercial infant formula showed positive reactions, while soy-based formula showed negative reactions. 2) The products from differnt companies showed different reactions respectively. The products of "A" company showed low allergenicity compared to the products of "B" company. The products of "C" company showed the lowest allergenicity. 3) It seemed to be that the differences of allergenicity among the products by various companies were caused by the differences of the materials used, the combination ratio of materials, the heat tretment level, and manufacturing processes.
