        The tasks of today's human society are 1) to preserve nature, 2) to create the sound social climate, 3) to construct human rehabitation and 4) to materialize the world peace with the human family spirit. The Bright Society Movement, acting up to such historical needs, is extending worldwidely. Following are the necessities of the times; 1) the population increase, the excessive urbanization and industrialization cause pollution to break the things of nature and to further intimidate human life. For that reason, the world-wide movement is urgently needed to protect the nature and revive her functions. 2) Materials are the necessary condition for man's life; nevertheless, the tendency spreads around the world to value more seriously materials than man. Machines and tools must be utilized for only man's convenience. It is our present mission to enhance human value and construct a society which is good to live. 3) As for human relationship, humanity and familiarity among neighbors grow more sterile. Recovering humanity in our society, we'll have to lead an intimate life with out neighbors as if a family, and all human beings ought to keep good relations one another under the awareness that we are all brothers. Since the world is becoming a global community, people in this community can not help co-operating one another. 4) The gradual increase of the number of modern people who take the passive and negative attitude in life, and antagonism between individuals, groups, races, and nations which most frequently results in war; these phenomena are typical of modern society. We should make every effort to induce people to take an active, positive attitude and cast away such antagonism. 5) Individualism and egoism for common prosperity. The solution is to place great emphasis collaboration and the basis for modern society are the main factors to destroy the social collaboration and the basis for common prosperity. The solution is to place great emphasis upon human education so as to make the habit of servicespirit. The Bright Society Movement, in accordance with these historical and social demands, takes as its motto Good will, Cooperation and Service―Contribution. 1. Good Will The spirit of Good Will is not only the native love made between friendly persons but the mental basis for human life. First, filial piety is the most important in the life of Good Will. Only a man, who is dutiful to his parents, can be a leader and do his best for society. Second, Good Will is beautiful love between husband and wife. For it is next to impossible without beautiful love to become the most intimate couple from two strangers. Third, Good Will is the love between parents and children. It is true love without any condition. Forth, Good Will is spirit of keeping friendly contact with neighbors. Such spirit is to help mutually, feel grateful, and live loving neighbors as if relatives. 2. Cooperation Cooperation is an essential principle to form human society. All beings in the universe keep inter-relation through the organic cooperative system with their environments. Man can yield greater results by mean of cooperation. A family can be happy when they collaborate one another; every member of a society is able to achieve their aims through their mutual cooperation. The Bright Society Club can construct human cooperative society as well, when it is possible to create the systematic cooperative relationship between unit clubs, federations, regional centres, national centres, and international centre. 3. Service-Contribution Service is man's natural behavior to contribute himself and the development of human beings. Everything with me is what is obtained from others, not what I produce by myself. Service means to reward everyone for what I have received. The society which consists of those who are willing to service each other; only that society can provide for proper opportunity to be compensated. Fruitful life does not lie in good health and materials. Really valuable Life is with helping others. Life, filled with Good Will, Cooperation, and Service-Contribution, must grow into a habit of everyman so as to be a guiding principle in his life. Now, the basic directions of unit club for the Bright Society Movement are as follows; 1. Leading role of unit clubs; Centering around unit clubs, Bright Society Movement is expanded. 2. Systematic relations of club structure; each unit club keeps organic relationship mutually. 3. Regional and functional unit clubs; unit clubs are formed on the basis of pecularities of regions or functions. When all human beings understand the historical and social missions and participate in the Bright Society Movement positively, we'll be able to creat earlier human cooperative society which is good to live.

      • 鋼管多段 Grouting 工法의 Tunnel 補强效果에 關한 硏究

        When Umbrella Arch Method is applied in construction of the first Ok-chon tunnel which have soft ground zone or fractured zone, the result as finite element analysis method, the PENTAGON-2D, is following. 1)There is little effect in bottom displacement due to side wall reinforcement, but side wall displacement decrease 50%. 2)Before reinforced by Umbrella Arch Method, rockbolt axial stress is 16 ton which exceed allowed axial stress, however after reinforced, that is about 5.5ton in up and down path, therefore rockbolt axial stress after reinforced is safe. 3)In shotcrete, compression stress decrease average 65% and shearing force and bending moment is decrease more than average 65%. hence shotcrete has great effect on ground reinforcement in side wall. 4)Umbrella Arch Method was proven as assistant method in fractured zone, but in long term stability, judging the fact that bottom displacement is slightly great, the tunnel invert is continued. Or bottom must be reinforced with reinforced with reference to field measurement data in excavation.

      • N値에 따른 地盤評價에 關한 硏究

        In this paper, parameters of soil which are estimated with N-value and the results from laboratory test with the sample in construntion field are compared and analyzed. As a result, modification methods caused by existed weight is nearly same with the Equation of Liao & Whitman. Under same existed weight, the difference of N'/N is 0.9~2.1 in the Equation of Peck & Bazzaraa and Gibbs & Holtz. The Equation of O-Ja-Ki (&?'§) is more accurate with average value than any other equations in estimating a angle of internal friction of sand. The result of laboratory test is similar to the Equation of terzaghi & Peck. When unconfined compression strength of clay is estimated, the equation, q_(u) ≒ N/0.722, may represent many suggested equations. Standard Penetration Test is one of the most popular method to estimate parameters of soil because of its simplicity. Correlation between N-value and parameters of soil has been studied by many people but the absurd is still remain and we can face it on the construction field. Therefore field investigation and understanding about N-value are required when engineers estimate parameters of soil with N-value. There should be more study to get high accuracy of N-value and trustable parameters of soil.

      • 흙막이 土留壁의 水平變位 特性에 關한 硏究

        As basements are built to greater depths and building developments occupy greater plan areas, the problems of settlement and horizontal displacement occur. To ensure minimum soil movement horizontally and vertically, around and below a deep excavation of given soil conditions, several measured are meccessary. Sometimes adjacent structures is damaged horizontal displacement and vertical settlement around and below of site. Recently, the intrumentation has many important roles in estimating and keeping stability of underground structures. Therefore, I present the characteristic of horizontal displacement through comparing instrumentation data with sunex program results for retention walls in a TaeJon site. As I think collectively many instrumentation data adn each field conditions, I point main factors causing horizontal displacement. Using instrumentation data, I propose a relationship representing a depth and magnitude with maximum horizontal displacement happens

        Ground settlement and displacements of support structures due to deep excavation in urban area affect the stability of adjacent structures and retaining walls. Especially, the magnitude and distribution of ground settlements may directly give effects on the behavior of adjacent structures. So it comes to be important to judge precisely the effects on adjacent grounds and structures due to excavation. This can be achieved by means of ground settlements and differential settlements of structures, but present evaluating method on the ground settlement neglect the presence of adjacent structures. In this study, I have made Bowles and Bauer Method programs in order to find adjacent ground settlements. The results of program are like these. First, when you use measured horizontal displacement, the ratio of settlements of Bowles Method programs to Bauer is 0.86. Secondly, when you use measured horizontal displacement, settlements which Bowles Method program find is 5 times larger than settlements which Bauer Method program find when you use evaluated horizontal displacement.

        Ordinarily stow net fisheries was used by floater beam and sinker beam for the purpose of spreading the mouth of net. But it was not only iuconvenient and dangerous but much defective. In this thesis, we have studied fundermental experiment of the improved stow net fishing gear using head rope, ground rope and otter sail instead of floater beam and sinker beam. From the result of this experiment, it has been succeeded for fishing work to achieve basically without any difficulty. The results obtained in this study were as follows. 1) The resistance of fishing gear was estimated R≒7V2 as possible as it is taken greatly. (R: Resistance V: the rate of current) 2) The interval of otter sail was spreaded smoothly. Being in normal condition, it was maintamed the width 37-38m. It was heared comparison with net mouth of ordinary gear, and the shearing force was enough. 3) The height of mouth was lower than we have anticipated to and seemed to have the supplement of buoyancy. But according to increasing the rate of current, the lowness of mouth height was little affected. 4) The height of otter sail was decreased at the rate of 30% by the rate of current, on the contrary, the height of wing was not decreased owing to sufficient buoyancy, 5) The adjustment of extention length of hanging wire(connected with fishing boat) and raising wire(with otter sail) was great important problem and it must be dealed with the most moderatly because of a corelation between the spreading of fishing gear and catching ability. 6) On the depth of 30m, it was taken 25 minuits to cast anchor and lines, 20 min cast net, 24 min haul net, 45 min haul lines and heave anchor, respectively. 7) The improved stow net with otter sail was cleared up the defects and difficult problems in ordinary gear using floater beam and sinker beam, and it have more advantages of fishing work than ordinary one. But there were involved in lots of problems in details to solve in the future.

      • Multi Cone Nailing 工法의 地盤補强效果에 關한 硏究

        In this study, the behavior properties and the influences of design variables related to internal and external stability in soil Nailed structure are expounded. Also, the Multi Cone Nailing method, which is new soil Nailing method transformed by addition of multi Cone are introduced. This method was designed when the failure is occurred by separation of Nail and grout material. The Soil Nailing and Multi Cone Nailing by pullout test results and analyses using SLOPE/W software for the purpose of making researches into the ground reinforcing effect of Multi Cone Nailing method are compared and analyzed. In the analyses using SLOPE/W software, I intentionally determined the analyzed section which is ground strata consisting of fill and weathered soil and has 7.0m excavation height. Analyses divided by without reinforcement, reinforced by Soil Nailing and reinforced by Multi Cone Nailing respectively, and determined section and soil strata was not changed because of the purpose of studying the effect by only reinforcement differences. The results of this paper are summarized as follow. From the pullout test results, initial pullout capacity in Multi Cone Nailing increased in 15% than it in soil Nailing. And residual pullout capacity decreased in 62% than initial pullout capacity in soil Nailing, but it is the same in Multi cone Nailing. As result of analyses using SLOPE/W software, the vertical slope is failed condition when without reinforcement, but is safe when reinforced by soil Nailing or Multi Cone Nailing. The factor of safety in multi Cone Nailing increase in 20% than it in soil Nailing. Compared with in soil Nailing, strength and shear resistance following the slip surface enlarged in Multi Cone Nailing, but shear mobilized decreased in it.

      • 충북지역 도시방재계획의 도시계획적 진단과 발전방향 : 도시계획서 분석 및 전문가 의견조사를 중심으로

        본 연구는 도시방재계획의 현황을 도시계획적 차원에서 진단하고 그 발전방향을 도출하고자 하는 목적하에, 충청북도의 조례와 지침중 도시방재 관련 사항을 정리하며, 충청북도 지방도시계획위원회 회의록 및 관련자료를 검토하여 방계계획의 취급 수준을 파악하였다. 실제 도시계획 상황에 대한 진단은 도시계획 보고서를 대상으로 도시방재계획의 위상을 분석하고 평가하였다. 또한 도시방재계획의 위상과 관련 전문가의 인식수준을 평가하고 이를 바탕으로 향후 바람직한 도시방재계획의 위상을 설정하기 위해 필요한 사항을 분석하고자, 도시방재에 관한 일반의식 수준, 도시재해에 관한 대처방안, 도시방재계획의 평가방향 등을 중심으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이상과 같은 충북지역의 방재계획에 대한 도시계획적 진단을 바탕으로 도시방재계획 관리체계의 방향 도출과 도시방재계획의 향후방향 제안을 시도하였다. This paper examines the status quo of the existing urban disaster prevention plans in Chungbuk Province and suggests alternative orientations for the future application. Its methodological themes center around the systematic compilation and accountability of disaster-related ordinances, mostly hinged on evaluation of major disaster items documented in various urban master or revision plans. In addition, it recommends the concrete guidelines and contents in disaster prevention plans, both of which are based on the aggregated results of expert opinion survey in and around Chungbuk Province. In order to tackle with diverse and unpredictable disasters which are well observed in modern urban society, this paper urges that the relatively weak legal and planning standards of the existing disaster prevention plans have to be immediately revised. For instance, the paper vividly shows that the present dimension of disaster prevention plans within the existing master plans and perception of specialist are not satisfactory mainly because of the internal limitation of the existing plans. Secondly, it seems imperative for planners to pay attention to systematic operation and management, even starting from the early development stage of urban disasters. Lastly, it proposes the alternative checklists given to measure the suitability of the disaster plans.

      • 軟弱地盤 壓密特性과 沈下豫測

        Recently, developed countries have brought about a considerable increase in the study of soft ground for the reasons of policy on farming protection, key industry and sightseeing development since the middle of the nineteenth century, particularly 1950s. In spite of the long and copious experience associated with these types of construction, the constructions of soft ground still have many delicate problems. In general, problems of soft ground related to stability are probably to meet settlements on the various circumstances. In order to accelerate the rate of consolidation settlement and gain a required shear strength for a given soft ground, the preloading technique combined with a vertical drainage system has been widely applied. In this paper, laboratory tests have analyzed to change the soil parameters that executed the plan of stage construction. The void ratio and water content of the clay decreases and the strength of soft ground rises during consolidation period. In order to predict of magnitude, rate of settlement and pore pressure dissipation under embankment of loading on drainage-installed soft ground, consolidation settlement prediction methods such as Asaoka method, curve fitting method, TAN method and Hyperbolic method applied to gain final consolidation settlement from the field settlement data. The Reliability analysis of consolidation settlement prediction methods made use of additional settlement data. Sequentially, it has been found that Hyperbolic method can appropriately predict the consolidation behavior of drainage-installed soft ground of Yangsan Mulgum.
