It is very important to understand and interpret the meaning of the sigma level correctly through the Six Sigma project. Especially, the confusion over the relation between sigma level from the short-term point of view and defective proportion or DPMO from the long-term point of view may make a big gap between expected results of the Six Sigma project and real results in the field. The one-tail approximation is commonly used to calculate the sigma level both in most literatures introducing Six Sigma and actual cases of the Six Sigma project. Since the one-tail approximation undervalues the sigma level of the fields such as business and service of which the sigma level is generally low, however, there can be misleading results of the explanation of the sigma level and inappropriate project evaluation. This paper describes the relation between sigma level and defective proportion in detail and clears the difference between the one-tail and two-tail approximation.

In this paper, we propose a new novel method for similarity search that supports time warping. Our primary goal is to innovate on search performance in large databases without false dismissal. To attain this goal. we devise a new distance function D_tw-lb that consistently underestimates the time warping distance and also satisfies the triangular inequality. D_tw-lb uses a 4-tuple feature vector extracted from each sequence and is invariant to time warping. For efficient processing, we employ a multidimensional index that uses the 4-tuple feature vector as indexing attributes and D_tw-lb as a distance function. We prove that our method does not incur false dismissal. To verify the superiority of our method, we perform extensive experiments. The results reveal that our method achieves significant speedup up to 43 times with real-world S&P 500 stock data.

In order to understand the influence of colours on the urban design of a city, a portion of the central Chung-Ju was chosen as the study area, and three cases were researched as colours. These surveyed colours are analysed in their hue, value and chroma. It was necessary to determine the colours of 272 buildings exterior in all in order formulate the findings presented in this study. The result of this study can be briefly summerised as the following ; 1) The trends in the use of colour turn out like this ; 55.3% of the building were Y(yellow), YR(yellow-green), R(red) Family in Hue, abour 33.9% of them were within 8.0-8.9 and 26.6% were within 7.0-7.9 on the value scale, and about 48.5% of them were within 1.0-1.9, 2.0-2.9 and 3.0-3.9 on the chroma scale. 1) For case 1 on the exterior colours of buildings, about 57.8% were Y and YR family in Hue, about 53.7% were 8.0-8.9 and 7.0-7.9 in Value, and about 49.6% of them were within 1.0-3.9 in chroma. 2) For case 2 on the exterior colours of buildings, about 52.4% were Y and R family in Hue, about 65.1% were 7.0-8.9 in Value, and about 46% were 1.0-2.9 in Chroma. 3) For case 3 on the exterior colours of buildings, about 55.7% were Y and YR Family in Hue, about 72.1% were 7.0-8.9 in Value, and about 31.1% were 2.0-2.9 in Chroma. In summary, the colours of the building surveyed in central Chung-Ju can be characerized as Y, YR, R, N family in Hue, 7.0-7.9, 8.0-8.9 in Value registered in 1.0-1.9, 2.0-2.9, 3.0-3.9 in Chroma. The observed exterior colours show a tendency toward Yellow in Hue, High in Value and low in Chroma. Generally, the majority of the colours is light rather than strong in tone.
디젤기관의 흡입공기 온도와 습도 변화에 의한 NOx 저감에 관한 연구

This study is to investigate, through the experiment, the effect of intake air temperature and humidity levels of a Diesel engine on the NOx emission reduction in the exhaust gas. The change of the NOx emission level has been checked for two diffent engine speed conditions of 1000 and 2000 rpm and for five different loading conditions of 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 N-m. The findings from the experiments are as follows; 1) The change of the intake air temperature from 20℃ to 40℃ affected the NOx and THC emission levels significantly. However, the CO and smoke emission levels are deldom affected. 2) The change of the intake air humidity levels from 60% to 50% increased the NOx emission levels dravaticaly for the loadings over 300 N-m while the smoke density level is decreased considerably for the loadings between 200 N-m and 400 N-m. 3) As the engine revolution is changed from 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm the NOx emission level is increased, while the smoke density level is decreased. Both the NOx emission and the smoke density are increased as the engine revolution is increased.

An isolated extramedullary relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in the absence of marrow involvement is a rare event. It occurs most commonly in the central nervous system or the testes, but rarely in the breast. We recently experienced ALL in a patient with an isolated extramedullary relapse in the breast after allogeneic HSCT. The patient, a 32-year-old female was diagnosed with B-cell ALL. Cytogenetic analyses were normal and the RQ-PCR testing for BCR-ABL was negative. The patient achieved a complete remission after treatment with hyper CVAD chemotherapy. Also the patient underwent an allogeneic HSCT from a HLA full matched sibling. Neither a graft versus host disease nor an infection was developed during the follow up period. One year after the allogeneic HSCT, the patient complained about a painless, palpable nodule on the left breast. The ultrasonography revealed a 2.74x2.69x2.49 cm sized lobulated hetero- echogenous mass and the PET scan showed a strong FDG uptake mass in the left breast. Histologic examination revealed an infiltration of primitive cells found showing focal TdT and CD34 positive cells. However, the short tandem repeat PCR of bone marrow aspirates showed a complete chimerism. No leukemic lesions were identified in other sites such as the bone marrow or cerebrospinal fiuid. The patient was treated with localized radiotherapy (5000cGy) followed by chemotherapy with L-asparaginase containing regimen. She patient remained in complete chimerism during radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, an intracranial hemorrhage was developed during the chemotherapy and the patient died 2 months after the extramedullary relapse. The breast could become one of the extramedullary relapse sites of ALL in adults. Further studies on risk factors, underlying mechanisms or therapeutic strategies of an extramedullary relapse are necessary.

<P>L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (Asc-2P) acts as an antioxidant and a stimulator of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) production. Previously, we reported that depletion of growth factors such as fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-2, epidermal growth factor (EGF), FGF-4 and HGF during serial passage could induce autophagy, senescence and down-regulation of stemness (proliferation via FGF-2/-4 and differentiation via HGF). In this study, we investigated the proliferation and differentiation potential of BMSCs by FGF-2 and Asc-2P. Co-treatment with FGF-2 and Asc-2P induced optimal proliferation of BMSCs and increased the accumulation rate of BMSC numbers during a 2-month culture period. Moreover, differentiation potential was maintained by co-treatment with FGF-2 and Asc-2P via HGF expression. Adipogenic differentiation potential by FGF-2 and Asc-2P was dramatically suppressed by c-Met inhibitors (SU11274). These data suggest that co-treatment with FGF-2 and Asc-2P would be beneficial in obtaining BMSCs that possess 'stemness'' during long-term culture.</P>

마이코플라즈마 폐렴의 증상은 대체로 경미하거나 자연적 치유 경과를 보이는 것으로 알려져 있으나 보고된 몇 예에서 중증의 경과를 보이는 경우가 있다. 최근에 본 저자가 경험한 환자는 33세의 여성으로서 용혈성 빈혈을 동반한 마이코플라즈마 폐렴으로 진단되었고 입원당시 객담을 동반한 기침과 호흡곤란을 주소로 내원했고, 입원 당시 검사 소견상 혈색소 7.8g/dL, 혈청 한냉응집소 역가가 1:128, 항마이코플라즈마 항체 및 direct coomb's test가 양성이었다. 흉부 방사선 소견상 좌폐 하엽에 대엽성 폐 침윤소견과 흉수액 소견이 관찰되었고 추적 관찰한 한냉응집소 역각가 1:1024로 증가된 소견을 보였다. 이에 용혈성 빈혈이 합병된 마이코플라즈마 폐렴 진단하에 roxithromycin과 2세대 cephalosporin을 2주 동안 투여하여 임상 증상 및 흉부 방사선 소견상 완화 소견을 보여 현재 외래에서 추적 관찰 중이다. Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (following M. pneumoniae) is manifested as a mild and self-limited. However, several overwhelming cases have been reported. Recently, we experienced a case of M.pneumoniae pneumonia that manifested to hemolytic anemia in a 33-years old woman who was admitted because of cough, sputum and dyspnea. On admission, serum hemoglobin count was 7.8g/dL, hematocrit count was 14.5%, serum cold agglutinins was 1:128, antimycoplasma Ab and direct coomb's test were positive. Lobar consolidation and costophrenic angle blunting at Left lower lung field were visible on initial chest X-ray. Cold agglutinin titer was elevated up to 1:1024. She was treated with roxithromycin and 2nd generation cephalosorin in general ward for 2 weeks. And after this, her clinical condition and chest X-ray findings were recovered and she is following up via outpatient department.
