Cross-linked poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) hydrogel was developed for application to wound dressings. Todetermine the optimum conditions for wound dressing materials, PEO with different molecular weights and variousPEO/poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) compositions were irradiated in order to obtain cross-linked hydrogelsusing an electron beam with various beam intensities. The contents of the PEGDA influenced the gel fraction, swelling ratio, mechanical properties, and water vapor transmission rate. To evaluate the healing effect of PEO/PEGDA cross-linked hydrogel for wound dressing, wounds on the backs of mice were covered with PEO/PEGDAhydrogel films. Healing under the wet environment of the hydrogel dressing was faster than with a gauze controland a commercial reference. The results demonstrate the possibility of the facile production of mechanically robustand transparent wound dressing materials with improved wound healing characteristics.

The cross-linked poly(ethylene glycol) dicarboxylate (PEGDC)/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate (PEGDMA)/(PEO) hydrogels were developed for possible biomedical applications such as an anti-adhesion barrier. Various contents of PEGDC/PEO film were irradiated using an electron beam with various beam intensities in order to obtain various degrees of crosslinked hydrogels. The optimum dose (300kGy) and total crosslinker content of 10% were used to prepare crosslinked hydrogel films with three different compositions (10% PEGDC, 10% PEGDMA, 5% PEGDC-5% PEGDMA). Among them, 10% PEGDC hydrogel film exhibited the highest elongation at break (69.33+/-6.87%) with high mechanical strength. 10% PEGDC hydrogel film showed the lowest hemolysis activity (6.03+/-0.01%) and the highest tissue adherence (75.67+/-1.15cN). The result also indicated that the carboxyl groups in PEGDC affect the tissue adherence of hydrogel films via H-bonding interactions. In animal studies, 10% PEGDC anti-adhesion hydrogel film degraded within 3weeks and demonstrated better anti-adhesive effect compared to Guardix-SG®.

Electrochemical conversion of abundant resources, such as carbon dioxide, water, nitrogen, and nitrate, is a remarkable strategy for replacing fossil fuel-based processes and achieving a sustainable energy future. Designing an efficient and selective electrocatalysis system for electrochemical conversion reactions remains a challenge due to a lack of understanding of the reaction mechanism. Shell-isolated nanoparticle-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SHINERS) is a promising strategy for experimentally unraveling a reaction pathway and rate-limiting step by detecting intermediate species and catalytically active sites that occur during the reaction regardless of substrate. In this review, we introduce the SHINERS principle and its historical developments. Furthermore, we discuss recent SHINERS applications and developments for investigating intermediate species involved in a variety of electrocatalytic reactions.

In this study, the objective is focused to explain the relationship between the three independent variables (price fairness, green brand quality and green risk) and Words of Mouth (WOM), which is mediated by the satisfaction and trust. Sample is taken as many as 200 visitors at the Mall in Surakarta - Indonesia, who had the intention to buy liquid edge display (LED) screen TV. Of all the questionnaires returned, there are 12 questionnaires that cannot be used. By using Generalized Structured Component Analysis, the results indicate that the satisfaction and trust is significantly influenced by the price fairness, green brand quality and green risk. Also found that WOM is significantly influenced by the trust. Furthermore it is found also that WOM is not influenced by the price fairness and green brand quality and it is found too that WOM is not influenced by satisfaction.
The Relationship Between Urbanization, Education, and GDP Per Capita in Indonesia
Tri HARYANTO,Angga ERLANDO,Yoga UTOMO 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.5
This study aims to analyze the causality between GDP per capita, urbanization, and education. This also aims to determine the long-term and short-term relationships between economic urbanization, education, and GDP per capita by applying Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Data was obtained from the World Bank and UNDP from 1990 to 2018. The estimation results showed that economic growth and education on urbanization have the strongest causality in VECM. Therefore, they are pull factors with a significant effect in the long and the short term. Some suggestions concerning policy implications were stated, and they include: forming area-based urbanization, where cities within one area are integrated, to get the impact of an agglomeration economy. Also, the government needs to accelerate the distribution of infrastructure and public facilities in various regions to avoid population density in one area due to urbanization, and government needs to pay attention to easier access to education and more equitable ones in various regions. On the contrary, after education is evenly distributed in all regions, the government needs to pay attention to transportation access and infrastructure.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of water/cement (w/c) ratio on the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams which contain polypropylene waste coarse aggregates (PWCA) coated with sands subjected to concentrated monotonic load. The process involved the experimental manufacturing of three RC beams with sand-coated PWCA concrete using 0.30, 0.35, and 0.36 w/c ratios at a width of 80 mm, a height of 160 mm, and a length of 1600 mm. The flexural performance, including load-deflection relationship, flexural strength, ductility index, stiffness, as well as toughness was investigated and discussed. Moreover, the analytical approach was verified using the Response-2000 program by comparing the analytical and experimental results. The sand-coated PWCA RC beams were discovered to have the ability to sustain the loads applied effectively by producing a flexural performance which is considered acceptable and reasonable. In addition, the variations in the w/c ratio were observed to have effects on the parameters of the beams investigated. Finally, the ultimate loads recorded for these beams confirmed their acceptability in the analytical investigation.
Effect of Exposure to 2.5 μm Indoor Particulate Matter on Adult Lung Function in Jakarta
Eky Pramitha,Budi Haryanto 질병관리본부 2019 Osong Public Health and Research Persptectives Vol.10 No.2
Objectives: Lung function impairment due to exposure to indoor air pollution of particulate matter size 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5) is not well documented in Jakarta. Methods: To assess whether there is an association between indoor PM2.5 concentration and lung function impairment among the adult population, a cross-sectional design was implemented. There were 109 adults selected aged between 20 years and 65 years from the Pulo Gadung industrial area, East Jakarta. Association and logistic regression analysis were implemented for statistical analysis of the data. Results: The average exposure to indoor PM2.5 was 308 μg/m3. There were 38.5% of participants that had lung function impairment. PM2.5 concentration was found to be associated with lung function impairment among the adult population living in Pulo Gadung industrial area after controlling for gender, duration of exposure, ventilation, smoking status, and humidity. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that PM2.5 concentrations in the Pulo Gadung industrial area may be the main contributor to the impairment of lung function for adults living in the surrounding residential area.
