Representation of the Immigrants as Homo Sacer in Chang-rae Lee`s Native Speaker

This paper aims to analyze Chang-rae Lee`s debut novel, Native Speaker, by using Giorgio Agamben`s analysis of sovereignty in relation to bare life, homo sacer. Homo sacer is a being on the threshold of nature and civilization, which the sovereignty draws a demarcation of citizenship on and derives the absolute power from. In reading of Native Speaker, we can realize that the status of the immigrants in the United States is not much better off than that of homo sacer, especially so in cases of the ``undocumented`` immigrants. In the large part of the novel, the English language is presented as a medium through which the power of the native English speakers flows. However, when the story of John Kwang is delivered, the readers can face the sovereign power which confirms its absoluteness. John Kwang ambitiously attempts to represent the unrepresentable being and transgress the boundary of small business within which Asian Americans are recognized as ``model citizens.`` The appearance of the INS instead of the Tax Office at the end of novel and John Kwang`s final exile illustrate the confirmation of sovereign power by banning homo sacer. A 60-year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of fever with chillness and anarexia for 12 weeks. Physical examination revealed supraclavicular lymphadenopathy and left inguinal lymphadenopathy. Abdominal CT scan showed the evidence of maked lymphadenopathy on retraperitoneal, external iliac, obturator, left inguinal, and celiac lymph nodes. A pathologic diagnosis of Ki-1(+) lymphoma was made by the biopsed supraclavicular lymph node because the node consisted of large cells with pleomorphic nuclei, scanty cytoplasm, large basophilic nucleoli, atypical vacuoli and large cells were positive for leukocyte common antigen, Ber-H2, marker, and B-cell marker.

Minjin Lee’s Pachinko unravels the characters’ life trajectories, mirroring the evolution, impact, dissemination, healing, and reconciliation of a national trauma. This paper meticulously explores the origins and development of Noa’s second-generation trauma, meticulously tracing the journey that led to his eventual collapse and tragic suicide. Noa confronted both an anxiety crisis and a mourning crisis, plunging him into the abyss of an identity crisis. Concurrently, his adoption of Japanese mannerisms embodies a hybrid strategy, actively dismantling the theoretical foundations of discrimination against Zainichi Koreans in Japanese society. This process of deconstruction serves as a pivotal catalyst in the ultimate reconciliation of the national trauma

사회문제 중심의 지역화 교재구성의 실제 : 울산지역을 중심으로 in the case of Ulsan

The goal of this study is to introduce regional social problems that might embody the essence of region in the social curriculum at elementary school social studies, to constitute learning material in an integrated way, and to embody a proper teaching model. In order to reach this goal, first, this study provides a standard that refers to general theoretical research about region and social problems and principles and method in text composition. Second, this study abstracts social problems relating to the Ulsan region and classifies their features for the development of integrated teaching material for inter-studies. Third, this study embodies the teaching-learning model of the social studies curriculum at the heart of the content of the text and tries to apply it to the school classroom environment. Especially, in order to make teaching material that addresses key social problems of the region, this study divides social problems in the Ulsan region into problems of social organization, social disorganization, and deviation, and divides them again into the following problem types: economic, regional gap, city, environmental, home, and crime. Furthermore, it suggests a procedure for text composition and clearly shows, as related constituents, the key idea, the goals, the teaching-learning process, and the assignment. It takes into account Learner's development of social consciousness and experiential Level as much as possible.

유기농 자재의 시용이 토양의 이화학적 성질과 상추, 가지의 생육 및 체내성분에 미치는 영향

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of microbial fertilizers on the application of organic farming materials in soil on growth and yields of leaf lettuce, eggplant. Three microbial fertilizers, Aika, Kalen-gold and EMRO-EM were used. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. The effect of soil chemical properties after application organic arming materials, The amounts of pH, EC, P2O5 and O.M. treated all plot were few of change. 2. Change of soil microbial after application organic farming materials, The number of bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi in N, P, K treated plot showed the increased tendency, to the contrary, The number of bacteria, actimycetes in Aika, kalen-gold and EMRO-EM treated plot showed the increased, The number of fungi showed the dicreased tendency 3. The application effects of Aika, Kalen-gold and EMRO-EM on the growth, yield and components of leaf lettuce and eggplant in comparison with chemical fertilizers plot was not a difference.

The study aims to understand and describe of the conditions and Teaching - Learning Process on the Experiential Teaching - Learning Method in the Elementary School Social Studies. In the Social Studies, which advocates the cultivation of creative democratic citizens for the future society, emphasizes 'The Experiential Teaching - Learning Method' in the course of its practice. The Experiential Teaching - Learning Method is an independent learning activity by which the students can recognize correctly the peculiarities and varieties of a social phenomenon, systematize the fundamental principles and objective knowledge. and solve the problems in an active manner. Learning by seeing and hearing in the field cannot be considered to be a proper type of Social Studies. It does not meet the intentional and appropriate learning activity required in the Social Studies. The Social Studies should be led to find out the meaning and characteristics of the social phenomena which the students experience in the field. There for, in this thesis, the characteristics of The Experiential Teaching - Learning Method are redefined for the propel Social Studies. Secondly, a new systematic way of Teaching -Learning Process is suggested for the more effective The Experiential Teaching - Learning Method in the Social Studies.

고능률 소형 전자석에 의한 자왜 및 자기이방성 측정

자왜 또는 자기이방성의 측정에 사용되는 전사석의 여자전류를 측정에 필요한 수초간만 흘려서 에너지 소모 및 측정시의 최대난점인 시료의 온도변화의 문제를 극소화하였다. 따라서 전자석의 냉각장치는 생략되고 크기와 전원의 용량도 극소화되었다. 공기간격 22㎜, 자극의 단면적 40 × 25㎟에서 0.5 T의 자장발생에는 180 W의 전원으로 족하였다. 시료의 자왜와, 자기이방성에 의한 토크를 전기용량센서에 의하여 측정하여 10^-8의 자왜분해능과 1 nJ의 토크 분해능을 얻었다. 0.02× 0.8× 10㎟의 연자성 리본의 형상이방성을 이용하여 이방성 측정시의 토크값을 교정하였다. A high efficiency small electromagnet(22㎜ air gap and 40 × 25㎟ core's cross section) suitable for measuring magnetostriction and magnetic anisotropy was built. The magnet could be miniaturized by reducing the measuring space and time. The excitation current of the electromagnet was supplied for only a few second of small. An 0.5 T magnetic field was generated with 180 W power consumption. The values of magnetostriction and magnetic anisotropy were measured with a very sensitive capacitance cell with resolution of 10^-8 and 1 no. The torque was calibrated using a soft magnetic ribbon's shape anisotropy.
