      • Poster Session : PS 0831 ; Upper GI Tract : Clinical Factors to Predict Angiographically Detectable Non-Variceal Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Patients Refractory to Endoscopic Treatment

        Background: Non-variceal upper GI bleeding (NVUGIB) is a common medical problem that has signifi cant association with morbidity and mortality. Angiographic detection and subsequent transarterial embolization (TAE) is a primary treatment option when medical and endoscopic treatments fail. We investigated clinical factors that could affect the success of the angiographic detection and prognosis after TAE in patients with NVUGIB refractory to endoscopic therapy. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data was done in patients with failed endoscopic treatment who underwent angiography for the treatment of acute NVUGIB between May 2002 and May 2013. Patients were divided into detection or non-detection groups according to the presence of bleeding stigmata in angiographic fi nding. Rebleeding defi ned as subsequent bleeding event within 7 days and mortality within 30days were analyzed as outcome parameters after TAE following detection in angiography. Results: A total 45 patients 37 (male, mean age, 65.9±14.9 years) were analyzed and classifi ed as a detection group (n=25, 55.5%) and non-detection group (n=20, 44.6%). Peptic ulcers were the most common cause of refractory NVUGIB. Larger transfusion amount (5.7±3.9 unit vs. 3.5±2.8 unit; P=0.03), prolonged aPTT level (34.2±17.3 sec vs. 21.8±13.8 sec; P=0.01) and short time interval between last endoscopy and angiography (17.5±25.9 hours vs. 34.3±59.5 hours; P=0.04) were found to be signifi cant factors for predicting angiographic detection. TAE was performed in all patients detected in angiography. Rebleeding (44%) was significantly associated with higher Rockall score (8.3±1.5 vs. 6.6±2.4; P=0.046) and mortality (12%) was signifi cantly associated with higher Rockall score (9.3±0.6 vs. 7.1±2.2; P=0.002) and higher level of BUN (55.3±47.4 vs. 27.6±17.4; P=0.01). Conclusions: Clinical characteristics associated with angiographic detection in patients with NVUGIB refractory to endoscopic therapy were severe bleeding, bleeding tendency and early angiographic intervention. The Rockall score is useful parameter for predicting rebleeding and mortality after TAE.

        Effect of Asymmetric Hot Rolling on the Texture Evolution of Fe–3%Si Steel

        In Fe–3%Si steel, the hot rolling process affects not only the hot rolling texture but also the primary recrystallization texture. Here, the effect of asymmetric hot rolling was studied by comparing the difference in the texture evolved between asymmetricand symmetric hot rolling. The effect of asymmetric hot rolling on the texture of primary recrystallized Fe–3%Si steel wasalso studied. The symmetric hot rolling of Fe–3%Si steel produces a rotated cube texture at the center but Goss and coppertextures near the surface. Asymmetric hot rolling tends to produce Goss and copper textures even at the center like thetexture near the surface. After primary recrystallization, the dominant texture at the center changes from {001} <210> to{111} <112> and the new texture has a higher fraction of the grains which make the low energy boundary with Goss grainsthan that of symmetric hot rolling.

        Misorientation Characteristics at the Growth Front of Abnormally-Growing Goss Grains in Fe–3%Si Steel

        Penetrating morphologies at the growth front of abnormally-growing Goss grains in Fe–3%Si steel was examined in view ofthe possibility that they are the two-dimensional section of the solid-state wetting (SSW) along the triple junction line. Toobtain the statistically meaningful data, 102 penetrated grain and 204 penetrating abnormally-growing Goss grain morphologieswere examined. The misorientation angles of penetrating and penetrated grains were measured by electron backscattereddiffraction. Among the 102 examined penetrated grain boundaries, none has low misorientation angles less than 15°,whereas 17.2% of the 204 penetrating grain boundaries have low misorientation angles, and 23.5% of them have coincidencesite lattice boundaries. Besides, boundary energies of penetrating Goss grains, which were estimated from misorientationangles of the three grains in the penetrating morphology, satisfied the energetic condition for SSW along the triple junctionline. These results imply that the abnormal grain growth of Goss grains in Fe–3%Si steel occurs by the mechanism of subboundaryenhanced SSW.

        팥 품종별 볶음시간에 따른 팥과 팥차의 이화학적 특성 및 항산화활성의 변화

        This study investigated the changes in physicochemical characteristics of adzuki bean (Vigna angularis var. nipponensis) tea depending on the variety and roasting times, for the development of functional foods. The levels of total polyphenol, flavonoids, and tannin contents were 12.72 ㎎ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/g, 3.01 ㎎ catechin equivalent (CE)/g, and 3.56 ㎎ tannic acid equivalent (TAE)/g, respectively, for the Jeolgangsung-ipat sample roasted for 16 min. The highest DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity was 7.81 ㎎ Trolox equivalent (TE)/g in Bulgeun-ipat sample that was roasted for 14 min. The highest total polyphenol content in the hot water-leached liqueur of adzuki bean tea was 26.55 μg GAE/100 mL in Yungum-pat that was roasted for 12 min. The total flavonoids and tannin contents of Whin-ipat and Jeolgangsung-ipat roasted for 10 min were 15.10 μg CE/100 mL and 14.60 μg TAE/100 mL, respectively. The highest DPPH and ABTS (2,2’-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzo-thiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical scavenging activities of hot water-leached liqueur of adzuki bean tea were 488.72 and 728.25 ㎎ TE/100 mL, respectively, in Yungumpat roasted that was for 12 min. The results of this study show that roasted adzuki bean tea has notable antioxidant activity and is considered to have significant health benefits.

      • 품종에 따른 수수 메탄올 추출물 및 용매분획물의 항산화활성

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant contents and activities of solvent fractions from methanolic extracts of sorghum according to varieties. The cultivated varieties were Hwanggeumchal-susu (HS), Milo-susu (MS) and Jungmo 4001 (JM4). The yield of methanolic extract of HS was 4.37%, whereas those of its solvent fractions (hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water) were 8.82, 2.46, 5.24, 24.49, and 47.23%, respectively. The highest total polyphenol, flavonoid, tannin, and proanthocyanidin contents of methanolic extracts (ME) were 30.33 mg GAE/g ME, 4.69 mg CE/g ME, 25.86 mg TAE/g ME, and 675.09 μg CE/g ME from HS, respectively. The highest total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of solvent fractions (SF) were 52.87 mg GAE/g SF and 18.86 mg CE/ g SF in ethyl acetate fraction of HS, respectively. The highest total tannin and proanthocyanidin contents of solvent fractions were 39.27 mg TAE/g SF and 1210.74 μg CE /g SF in the butanol fraction of HS, respectively. The highest DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the solvent fractions were 20.54 and 33.85 mg TE/g SF in ethyl acetate fraction of HS, respectively. The highest catalase activity of the solvent fractions was 67.92 nmol/min/mL in ethyl acetate fraction of HS. The superoxide dismutase- like activities of methanolic extracts from HS, MS and WS were 20.22, 20.00 and 3.14 unit/mL, respectively. The results of this study show that notable antioxidant activities in sorghum flowers have significant health benefits.

        맨드라미(Celosia cristata L.) 꽃 메탄올 추출물로부터 용매분획된 분획물의 항산화활성

        맨드라미꽃의 식품학적 이용가능성을 확인해 보고자 항산화성분 및 항산화활성에 대해 검토하였다. 맨드라미꽃의 항산화성분과 활성은 메탄올 추출물과 순차적 용매분획물에 대해 측정하였으며, 메탄올 추출물과 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물의 추출수율은 각각 23.33, 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55 및 38.54%였다. 맨드라미 꽃 메탄올 추출물의 총 polyphenol, flavonoid 및 tannin 함량은 각각 6.80 ㎎ GAE/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ CE/g ME 및 6.23 ㎎ TAE/g ME였다. 순차적 용매분획물 중 butanol 분획에서 각각 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g SF, 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF 및 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF로 함량이 높았다. 총 proanthocyanidin 함량은 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME였고 순차적 용매분획물은 각각 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12 및 41.80 ㎍ CE/g ER로 용매간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 맨드라미꽃의 메탄올 추출물의 DPPH 및 ABTS radical 소거활성은 각각 5.24 및 10.70 ㎎ TE/g ME였고 butanol 분획에서 각각 12.53 및 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF로 활성이 높았다. 메탄올 추출물의 SOD 유사활성은 7.96 unit/mL로 나타났고 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물은 각각 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36 및 5.21 unit/mL로 butanol 분획의 활성이 높았다. 맨드라미꽃 추출물의 항산화성분과 항산화활성 간에 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였고 맨드라미꽃 추출물이 체내 및 식품에서 유익한 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.         비수리(Lespedeza cuneata G. Don) 메탄올 추출물로부터 분획된 용매분획물의 항산화활성과 α-Glucosidase 저해활성

        비수리의 식품학적 이용가능성을 확인해 보고자 항산화성분 및 항산화활성, superoxide dismutase 유사활성, α-glucosidase 저해활성 등에 대해 검토하였다. 비수리 메탄올 추출물과 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획 등 순차적 용매분획물의 총 폴리페놀 함량은 각각 12.44, 3.61, 6.39, 27.11, 20.00 및 9.32 ㎎ GAE/g extract residue(ER)로 나타났으며, 총 플라보노이드 함량은 각각 2.94, 9.92, 7.77, 9.27, 5.11 및 2.66 ㎎ CE/g ER, 총 탄닌 함량은 각각 8.75, 10.04, 7.42, 17.32, 11.65 및 7.61 ㎎ TAE/g ER, 총 프로안토시아니딘의 함량은 346.09, 63.50, 103.76, 288.62, 231.99 및 358.48 ㎍ CE/g ER로 나타났다. 비수리 메탄올 추출물과 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물의 DPPH radical 소거활성은 각각 20.62, 5.16, 9.29, 20.80, 20.00 및 20.79 ㎎ TE/g ER, ABTS radical 소거활성은 각각 33.86, 9.24, 17.36, 33.76, 33.49 및 33.86 ㎎ TE/g ER로 나타났다. SOD 유사활성은 각각 4.12, 0.61, 2.01, 9.89, 13.47 및 11.82 unit/mL의 활성을 보여 butanol 분획과 물 분획에서 유의적으로 높은 활성을 나타내었고 α-glucosidase 저해활성은 물 분획 50 및 25 ㎍/mL에서 각각 93.85 및 61.64%로 높은 저해활성을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과에서 비수리 추출물은 항산화성분 및 항산화활성, SOD 유사활성, α-glucosidase 저해활성을 가지는 물질을 함유한 것으로 보이며, 체내 및 식품에서 활성산소 종 제거에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 보인다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant contents and antioxidant activities of solvent fractions from methanolic extract of sericea lespedeza. To determine the antioxidant compounds in solvent fractions from methanolic extract, total polyphenolic, flavonoid, tannin, and proanthocyanidin contents were measured by spectrophotometric methods. Solvent fractions were evaluated for antioxidative capacity according to DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities. Total polyphenolic contents were 12.44, 3.61, 6.39, 27.11, 20.00, and 9.32 ㎎ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/g extract residue (ER), respectively. Total flavonoid contents were 2.94, 9.92, 7.77, 9.27, 5.11, and 2.66 ㎎ catechin equivalent (CE)/g ER, respectively. Total tannin contents were 8.75, 10.04, 7.42, 17.32, 11.65, and 7.61 ㎎ tannic acid equivalent (TAE)/g ER, respectively. Total proanthocyanidin contents were 346.09, 63.50, 103.76, 288.62, 231.99, and 358.48 ㎍ CE/g ER, respectively. DPPH radical scavenging activities of solvent fractions from methanolic extract of sericea lespedeza were 20.62, 5.16, 9.29, 20.80, 20.00 and 20.79 ㎎ Trolox equivalent (TE)/g ER, and ABTS radical scavenging activities were 33.86, 9.24, 17.36, 33.76, 33.49, and 33.86 ㎎ TE/g ER, respectively. SOD-like activities were 4.12, 0.61, 2.01, 9.89, 13.47, and 11.82 units/mL, and α-glucosidase inhibition activities were 93.85 and 61.64% at concentrations of 50 and 25 ㎍/mL in the water fraction, respectively. The results of this study show that notable antioxidant activities in sericea lespedeza have significant health benefits.

      • 우리나라 主要 樹木園 및 植物園의 植物保有實態 分析에 關한 硏究

        우리나라 樹木園(植物園)들의 植物保有 實態를 把握하기 위하여 韓國植物園 聯合會 總監集을 대상으로 분석, 고찰한 결과 현재 우리나라에 수집되어 있는 식물의 전체 分類群 數는 225科 1,428屬 9,481種類로 나타났으며 이중 국내 自生樹種과 外國原産 導入種의 경우는 각각 166科 683屬 2,001種類와 193科 1,052屬 7,480種類로 파악되어 자생식물의 수집이 극히 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 樹木園別 수집현황으로는 천리포樹木園이 4,479種類로 가장 많고 광릉樹木園이 2,719種類, 여미지植物園이 1,614종류, 서울대공원이 931종류, 서울대 관악樹木園이 740종류 등을 각각 보유하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 樹木園別 식물수집의 特色은 多樣한 植物資源의 수집보다는 관상적 가치가 높은 수종 중심의 劃一的 計劃에 의한 수집으로 분석되었다. 따라서 장차 식물자원의 綜合的인 利用 및 硏究등에 필요한 수종과 특히 自生樹種에 대한 集中的인 蒐集이 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단되었다. This study was carried out to figure out the current status of plant holdings of arboreta (botanical gardens) in Korea and to establish the sound basis for plant resource management by means of analyzing "A Comprehensive Bibliography of Botanical Gardens" (Korean Association of botanical Gardens, 1991). The total number of taxa, which consist of 225 families and 1,428 genera, was 9,481 kinds. Those taxa include 4,793 species, 735 varieties, and 3,953 infraspecific taxa, respectively. And the total plant holdings were classified into 2,001 kinds of plants native to Korea and 7,480 kinds of plants introduced. Species holdings of major arboreta were 4,497 kinds at the Chollipo Arboretum, 2,719 kinds at the Kwangneung Arboretum, 1,614 kinds at the Cheju Fantasy Garden, 931 kinds at the Seoul Grand Park, and 740 kinds at the Kwanak Arboretum of Seoul National University. The present collection priorities for those arboreta were mostly confined to specific families and genera, and also showing increasing trends of introducing more exotic species rather than native ones.

        고분자 수지를 이용한 자동차 에어컨용 압축기의 씰에 관한 연구

        The existing compressor steel seal used in automotive air-conditioner has the problem of oil leakage and deterioration in shielding performance, due to the abrasion and corrosion of the material. A new type of polymer resin seal studied in this research has the characteristics of high anti-abrasiveness and anti-corrosiveness, which can overcome the defects of the steel seal. In addition, the seal needs lower manufacturing cost and is appropriate to mass production, because it is made by the injection molding method requiring no mechanical processing. The profile generation program for seal mold has been developed using the gradient method, and the molding characteristics of the seal have analyzed through the flow analysis and the warpage analysis. The program has been verified by comparing the analysis results with the measured data of the test product. The research might be said to provide the basic method to produce the polymer resin seals with various types and dimensions.
